Whoever's awake, looks like a small sell off is going on right now. Should stop around 9-9.2k?

Alts dumping hard. Im happy to watch mine bleed out as long as btrash dumps harder though.

Its more exciting watching that crap go down than watching BTC go up.

Oof. Sorry for the off-topic, peoples, but, I just have to ask... "Are Ethereum tokens toast ?"
https://support.okex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003019292

Looks pretty fucking serious to me.

And yet Ethereum supporters are seemingly unfazed that hackers creating limitless tokens could have been doing this for god knows how long. Rendering any meaningful market cap of any ERC-20 market completely null and void. And creating ungodly market manipulation distortions.

Idiots. If this happened to Bitcoin it would be over. At least for me, I'd dump everything.
Clearly you dont understand what actually happened

ETH's creation is what hapenned. It was fatally flawed from the beginning, and has been a giant shitstorm ever since.

What have we here another bug in ETH.. Undecided i'm not even suprised by it.
ETH is build on bad scrypting language, one bug ''fixed'' new one appears. No wonder why Vitalik is shifting ETH into PoS to delay the inevitable.

Just wait for Rootstock, their mainnet will be launched in stages. They take their time which is fine with me, code is more solid then ETH.

Are you ETH haters legit this dumb? Its not a bug in ethereum.

What the f- does PoS have to do with you claiming its a bad "scrypting" language?

We are back to $9400.  Won’t somebody think of the charts?

On the daily, it’s starting to look like building towards another upwards snap.  All we need now is a narrowing wedge and for volume to drop to nothing for a day.

I Can tell you what is going to happend.

We are going slowly to 9950$ with some zigzags then booooom from 9950$ to around 10.500$ in 1H then pullback to aroung 10.000$ then slowly zigzags to 10.900$.

Go 10x margin long, all in, to prove your confidence

Never used margin trading.

But when i read you i smell that you are a bear, and like you are the one talking about margin, go short bitcoin again, because i have the sentiment that you already short it several times last days and weeks and gets rekt again and again.

And like all additional gamblers your hoping for the next bear market to won some $$ after losing way more than you can win in your next bet.

What triangle are you talking about??

I Said to around 8900$.

If we dont break 8700$ then we are still very bullish, and we are 200$ above that now.

And yes i knowed that we are going to 8900$ then small zigzags between 8950$ and 9150$ For hours to reload for the big whale then go up slowly or extremly fast and broke the 9750$ resistance .

What formation is that? We are still above 8700 because the dump just started 1 hour ago. Dumps can go on for days, any real correction is a weekly trend.

You are not going to saw below 8900$ in the next hours days weeks.

But like i said before, if we go below 8900$ next hours then 8700$ gonna the button of this bear trap.

And yes cant explain in deep for security reasons.  Grin

Here's some classic Vitalik:

This will be the first time I will waste my time to hear a word he says, if this shitty connection at the casino ever loads the goddamn thing. I'm sure it won't disappoint. (waited 5 minutes didn't load will have to wait till I get home).

It would be nice to see that shitcoin crash and burn. It will be epic the gnashing of teeth and wailing of hands. Smiley

Salty eth haters never disappoint. What part is it you hate so much? That its stealing bitcoins market cap? That it has a real plan to address scaling on chain? If you want to hate something, make it garbage like btrash, which while having no use, no purpose, no anything - is worth $25 billion. And it doesn't solve or attempt to solve anything.

The vast majority of you seem to be stuck on the ETC fork and now hate it because you didn't invest. Maybe consider diversifying instead of crying.

The vast majority of you seem to be stuck on the ETC fork and now hate it because you didn't invest. Maybe consider diversifying instead of crying.

I have only shorted it and enjoyed it every time as it is not decentralized and now mutable and therefore not cryto currency at all. It was a premine scam and still is no matter how big it gets and I don't hate on it because I am a Bitcoin holder as my stake in BTC is insignificant and when it came out I was running folding at home for those years rather than mining (my mistake).

The hate comes from seeing the idea itself become twisted to a centralized fucking bank, the exact opposite of what this scene exists for. And guess what you can have no use for btrash and also none for eth or etc, why would you think there must be a choice in there are you so myoptic in your thinking?

Hah, boogerboy finally downloaded. Lol

You making money on shorts doesnt really matter. It's performed very well - you could have done much better on other cryptos (or really, any during the crash). So whats your point?

Mining pools do not make it centralized, especially since PoS is coming.
How on earth can you call it a central bank? Because of a single hard fork to undo a hack? Insanity. Head in sand and then buried under a dump truck for good measure.

What do you mean by "you can have no use for eth or etc"? The point is, it (ETH) attempts to solve something. It has its plan. Same with XRP - do I like it? No. But it does have a game plan. ETC, BCH, and many others are simply garbage with absolutely no potential for adoption.

There is an overwhelming global scientific consensus on this point.  So yes.

I think you are really not understanding me.

There may be overwhelming scientific consensus that humans "are contributing to climate change".

But please point me to all the studies and data showing that humans can CONTROL climate change. And of course the executable master plan that I'm sure all countries of the world are just chomping at the bit to put into action.

I'll wait...

for another two decades...

to watch nothing change on this.

Because the best option to being uncertain is to say, "lets do nothing and wait"

"You can't prove this o-ring is going to fail, even if the engineers say so - go on with that launch!" That has worked well historically, hasn't it? It's called preventative measures. Maybe in 20 years we learn the impact was minimal. Its better to be on the safe side, especially considering most of these measures are good for the world anyway - improve air quality, reduce waste, etc. It's not like you're writing a check to the gods (aka climate scientists) saying "please stop the damage Sad"

There was a 10 day floor at 8600. I dont see a floor of 9000 on the chart.

By the way the bid depth here on all exchanges in fiat is still the same, or lower, than it was in the 6000s. If this was truly going to rally to the next ATH and such, the bid depth would be building much bigger. So this is a temporal rally.

Not true at all. Bid/ask sum is an awful indicator.

I often start to wonder, "Well could I be a robot and not know it?"

Wouldn't be surprised if we sideways between $8-9k all summer.

https://www.coindesk.com/short-ether-bitcoin-says-citrons-andrew-left/

"I Would Short Ether Before Bitcoin", Says Citron's Andrew Left

I've been wondering why someone has been buying truckloads of ETH at gemini's auction for weeks now. This could be the answer, a HUGE ETH short position coming. Especially if the SEC rules that ETH is in fact a security.

Also Andrew Left is a tool.

I also have a hard time solving captchas sometimes. It is reaching ridiculous levels. Soon it will be above human "processing" ability and only a new generation of very specialized bots will be able to solve them. Ironic, isn't it?

I think it is too soon to figure out what price range we would be at summer. OTOH, this struggling below $10K is exactly how we all supposed it would be when reaching this levels for the first time instead of the cut-through-$10K-as-if-it-were-butter we experienced in december.
We always thought $10K would be a MAJOR resistance/psycological price point, didn't we?

What are those Gemini auctions? OTC? How do you get those figures?

I wonder if ETH would be considered a security... would that apply to ETC too or it would make for some kind of flippening between the two? I mean, would it be a security because it was initially ICO'ed -then ETC also was- or would it be because of all the ICO's that have been launched from ETH?

So it does look like I am not the only one who thought about it. What other reason there would be for ETC rising alone now?
You... you quoted yourself in agreement.

Also, I fail to see why someone would buy loads of ETH to short it. I can't see a way for that to be profitable. You can't short your own position and make money.

Yeah, it makes total sense I do agree with myself, doesn't it?

Now seriously, I quoted it because I posted it several days ago before ETC started to pump and that's the reason I guess some people also thought the same. Or maybe it's just a random pump... who knows.

About the shorting ETH thing... well, that's how pump and dumps work.... some people pump it from point A, then more people FOMO in and keep raising the price to point B or C. Now the initial pumpers dump (or short) on the later.. profit! At least theoretically.
oh ok, but a pump and dump is not the same thing as shorting, just fyi.

Shorting involves borrowing something and selling it with the intent to buy back cheaper.

1 - After a month of bull market, the price dropped, and that because of the Gates/Warren FUD.
--- This type of juvenile FUD coming from pure ignorance and stupidity works only short term

2 - The price dropped even more because of Kobayashi moving more coins from the Gox wallets.
--- I'm actually glad that Kobayashi is selling the coins now and not on September like we all thought. The fact that he started moving coins again is a good sign, because not only he sold them fast, but it's clear that the investors have bought the coins at 9-10k. The market participants are panicking over the mtgox wallet movements while the institutional investors are buying from both Kobayashi and the idiots who are panic selling

3 - Once the MtGox phase ends, we will enter in the biggest BTC bull market ever, fueled by the constant adoption, the lightning network and the next halving event. It won't stop until it saturates its full potential of serving billions of users.

A: Price jumps up $1000, continuing the pattern of smaller spikes followed by a huge one.
B: Price dumps below $7000, undoing the original mega-pump, but following the pattern of randomly jumping up and down.

The only thing that can possibly hold this market up is Bitfinex scammers and their fraudulent tethers, or the Chinese ASIC monopoly Bitmain trying to prop up their centralized extortion scam.

Swear to God (yes I am a Christian) this is the Wall Observer thread and needs more moderation. If you want to talk about Nazis, holocaust speculation, silver or gold bugs, people of different faiths like Jews and Muslims or tin foil hat controversies there are other forums that will welcome you. I don't post much here anymore because 1) I am busy day trading and 2) over about half the posts here seem to have nothing to do with Bitcoin. It is becoming a bit of a joke and a cesspool frankly. Just a thought.

Your ideal Wall Observer harkens back to the glory days of 2013. Since then, I think the thread has developed its own, unique culture that includes more than TA and wall observation. Though I'd like to see more TA here, actually.

Finding support at $7.25k? This is also a long period fib from last months sell off. How did all you knife catchers do?   Grin
Would recommend patience while the market finds a direction...once again. #dyor

Yeah looks like 7300 is holding up, a hell of a sell off but could this be due to the "Asian Whale" in the news that moved a bunch of coins to an exchange a few days ago?
Nah man, its time for new lows. Market is dead. Below 7000 in 24 hours, below 6000 in 72 hours, below 5000 this time next week.

Support at $7175 looking strong. Probably we're gonna see a jump now but I'm literally tired of seeing stupid head of Mr. Bart Simpson again and again.

Within the last 3 hours, I've received two calls from my family members asking how they can buy bitcoin right now. Surprisingly, they've been keenly observing BTC to USD rate at Google and today they think is the right time to buy.

I highly doubt that. Time for Asians to wake up, they're most probably going to be *very* bullish this morning, I've a few reasons why.

I doubt it too, im just trying to ruin the mood  Grin

Eth at 0.058 is looking a bit limp wristed.

I think ethereum and the rest of the alts are going to be in a bear market for awhile and will not follow the Bitcoin rocket this time.

Not enough money to pump bitcoin and the alts. This is still a really weak rally on terrible volume, hence alts sell for BTC.

That's why it's usually a bad sign. This rally will probably need to deflate a little to fill those tires back up. It's always the way.
Agreed. However, remember that during the run-up to 20k, alts frequently did this, until BTC paused for a few days, and then they went nuts. Like the day LTC was up, what, 100%?

Do you guys still consider ethereum an altcoin?

Ethereum is a coin that has no real world purpose, a supposed solution looking for "future use cases and problems" that don't exist.

Apparently it's current and only reason to exist is to allow the creation and trading of other ICO shitcoins, which in turn also have no real reason to exist.

You can debate with me on that if you want. Let's go down the existential rabbit hole together. You'll find that it's turtles all the way down.

Its got an on-chain scaling plan. It can do everything Bitcoin can, and then a lot more.

[wrt ETH] Its got an on-chain scaling plan. It can do everything Bitcoin can, and then a lot more.

But if it's "doing everything that Bitcoin can" then it doesn't have a reason to exist, because Bitcoin is already fulfilling that role just fine and will continue to do so.

... and then a lot more.

Top of rabbit hole generalization. Try again... but with proof, facts, or reasoning this time.  Cheesy

If you claim there is no reason for ETH to exist, and ETH does everything Bitcoin can and then more... sorry, how are you this dumb? On chain scaling will never happen for Bitcoin. There is no plan for it. LN is flawed, but obviously useful.

Too many dumbos trying to short the bottom.

Was this big enough to liquidate some of the shorts that are actual spot? I'm not talking about the derivatives like OKex and Bitmex. Or did it hit a lot of stop losses on shorts instead of liquidation?
Barely any hit

Just like the first Winklevoss rejection, right?

It's similar to the Silk Road auctions. The first was the big scary boogeyman. The latter ones no one gave a fuck.

Each rejection makes it clearer and clearer that any ETF is not going to pass. At this point you'd have to be a prize dimwit to expect one to get through.

It crashed big after the Winklevoss one and may have held up just because of optimism for this one.
