why suddenly 15-20 USD jump any explanation pls.

Some whale just made a 600 BTC market order in very thin market which took price up $20 in as many seconds.

Now there is a bit of a panic buy, but I aint touching it....fucking insanity.

thanks for explaining

very very low volume

zzzZZZ Cheesy

I think 650 is the new $450. Maybe we are hovering around that for another 4 weeks and than go to $850. I am honest. I'd be ok with this Smiley
Looks like things are being set-up for a mega bubble towards the end of this year. I think we will be flatish for several months then things will go crazy and reach over $5k

Everyone thinking same, and its really good that Bitcoin consolidating before jumping towards 850 or 1k.

That wall is so going to get pulled. It's just there to scare the kids off the lawn.

I agree with this kind of wall mostly for scare others But whales have capabilities to eat that if they want.

Stamp! haha! stamp doesn't want to go up   Grin

Calm before the shitstorm.

The weekend will probably be crazy movement and $700.

There was some talk about a person who's creating those walls so he (or she) can buy up all the offers below his and profit that way.
doesn't matter who creates them, if you're a bitcoin adopter and not a speculator its the best thing it can happen as we are getting price stability over an extended period of time, its wonderful news for us who want this technology for its properties not for speculation. Go walls go go!

No thanks, I want my BTC being able to buy a lot more.

last 2 rally came in weekends so hope another rally will come on weekend.

What? 500 millions of people? Yeah right.  You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

No way, Bitcoins in the hands of 500 Millions people, if that was the case then price must be too big then today price.

Right.  Bubbles don't do that.  This shows the world we're not in a bubble.  We have earned the current price valuation and we're not likely to be crashing down with a pop.

Even its good for bitcoin price consolidation above 630 so another jump will not be like bubble.

This post is interesting for a couple of reasons:

1) clarification of Adam's philosophy - NOT intending to delete posts;

and

2) raises concerns that maybe Adam will start a new thread - B/c this one is getting "too big."  What is "too big?"

But some people just posting useless thing here, that post must be delete.

When do you expect some significant movement, either down or up? Tomorrow, next week, next year?

Market is sideways/little downward. may be market try to consolidate and will move upward. but cant say surely when it will be go upwards. But more time market price above 600 its good for future price and more chances of upside movements.

I agree. We just went 445 to 685 in a short time. I think a retrace back to 580-600 (most likely 600) is necessary. This just normal market action and no cause for panic at all.

The DPR, Gox and Silkroad coins all moving in the last day could change this though.

If price resist @600 then it will be good for bitcoin price, but if drop down below 560 then there will be big risk of around 500 usd.

whales can't accumulate bitcoins on the exchanges without a substantial price movement.  10% above market could be a bargain.

No way, Price must be 10-20% below market price, Its not easy to find so many whales who will openly come and bid for that coins.

The speculation forum contains an almost homogenous mixture of trolls and angry over-leveraged losing traders and it is often difficult to tell one from the other, which makes it very difficult to have a serious conversation.

Its normal, Speculation thread normally like this, you cant discuss really very serious issue on speculation. People mostly show their emotion which side they want. that is the reason it became troll they dont want to see market will move different side of their position.

I think we still have to wait till we cross again 610 mark, before that really not recommending buying.

So... Wait 'till the price goes up to buy? Do you also wait for the price to drop to sell?? Brilliant trading strategies..

very very few investors - even professional ones - are capable of behaving like Warren Buffett, and buy when others are selling and sell when others are buying. Most move with the herd and with conventional wisdom.

I recently tried to do some trading with little money i earned from signature campaign, and i am really bad with this, i lose money on most of my trades, so i stopped and i am now convinced that my strategy (buy and hold) is the best for me.

Intraday/Short term trading not good for us, only professional make money from that and we loosing with it.

Exactly, my strategy was to keep btc, to sell after a pump and rebuy after the following dump. But in reality, every time, i was trying to catch a falling knife.

If we are that good on catching pumping and dumping then most probably we will not be here.

hot off the price heres a list of the prices for each block so far.

1 - Pantera - $900
2 - SecondMarket - $750
3 - SecondMarket - $700
4 - DRW Trading Group - $700
5 - Coinbase - $685
6 - Rangeley Capital - $660
7 - SecondMarket - $651
8 - Coinbase - $640
9 - Matrix Capital Management - $601
Block 10 - Yelp - $626
Is this list real?

Seems very unlikely that SecondMarket would enter a bid itself.  Can people see why that would be a big ethical problem?

no not real

No one will bid at $900. That's nonsense

Agree why anyone want to bid @900, if they want they will easily buy 3k coins far below of 900$.

This sure looks wierd. Whoever started the dump from cca $620 can't get back in at the moment, as there are far less sell orders to take us back than the amount that's been dumped since then. Someone is going to get burned hard IMO.

Probably had their bids preplanned and placed already awaiting others to panic and sell into them.  Smiley
Or they actually sold. You know, without the anticipation to buy lower?  Wink

Who'd want to sell at this stage without buying back in? I mean, with all the good plans/news regarding BTC for the next year?

Tons of people who we're told for months we would go up like crazy and that didn't happen.

People always try to think upside mostly that is why, they don't think market means both side and any side it will move.

What if it breaks?  Huh  Cry
What are the generally accepted long term channels at the moment?

It is generally accepted that you should never sell your bitcoins for anything less than a price, which is multiple times of the ATH of the prior boom.

- If Bitcoin is in its growth channel, and you panic sell in the bottom, it will cost you most of your bitcoins when you panic buy at 5-20x higher after realizing you were wrong. (If you panic buy threshold is lower, you end up always buying high and selling low, and diluting your holdings.)

- If it it destroyed, you have no way knowing it and being able to salvage the high point of your value. Salvaging a low point, is meaningless when the same outcome in fiat terms can be achieved by selling a few %-points more in the previous boom.

this community lives in dreams just because of people full of shit like you, of course you sold most of your Bitcoins to buy a "castle" and fill your account but you tell others to don't, what a dick head.

How time is changing. A couple of months ago you was the roaring uber-bull and fonzietila the bear.

It's nothing surprising, people change bullish to bearish and vice versa.
But Market is not going anywhere atleast for 1-2 weeks too.

That people change bullish to bearish and vice versa is not surprising, yes. But that they change the side with same Emotionality. I mean, investing overloaded with emotions....

...better doing something creative with your emotions like singing, dancing, or running nude on the street but evaluating an investment...

...no!

Fully agree with you, I also learned this very hard way after loosing so much money.

Never trade with emotion. Put emotion aside when trading or investing.

Lol, who can buy those 27k coins, it's really hard to eat that wall. it's clear he is accumulating on full.

THis is what i want to see.. ltc down and btc up for a bit... ltc/btc needs to go below 0.01 again.

Atleast we are trading whole day above 300 that is good sign for sometime. Don't know what will happen in future.
