Sorry if this is old, wish I could have watched this live, but at 34:15 (1st panel of day 2) that second law guy nearly slips up and uses the term crypto currency instead of the term he was told to use, "virtual currency"
Virtual currency is another catch phrase that they want to embed in the subconscious. Virtual currency is very different from crypto currency. Crypto is the term I would use to define a currency protected by cryptography, like bitcoin. Virtual is the term I would use to define Amazon bucks, or WoW gold, or USD; these are currencies that are centralized and controlled. Crypto currency is neither centralized, nor controlled, and I think that would scare them to death, if they only understood.
Yep. I think the endgame for them is probably a virtual dollar. No more hiding stacks of bills in the mattress. When they want to give you a haircut, they just press the button and bam, you're worth 80% of what you were.
That's a good argument for gold and silver. I wonder how many posting here also invest in physical precious metals?

The U.S. Government stole most of the private gold held by Americans in 1933.

I had heard that most people did not turn in their gold during the U.S. confiscation. Silver was untouched.

I just bought a small amount of BTC so that I could trade it for LTC. I think I may buy a little more BTC, but I'm kind of waiting on the price - I'm torn as to whether to buy it right now or wait a little bit for it to come lower.

Have you always been able to place Limit Orders at Coinbase? I see the link that you provided, but have never been able to find the link from the Coinbase pages to place Limit Orders.

Bah, screw Coinbase. Sure enough, they'll limit your orders as a "High Risk Transaction." Quit peddling that crap.
I've been using Coinbase for almost a year and the only time I had a problem with that was when I was a new user. Someone on the forum gave me an email address to complain to them, they emailed me back and informed me that I was put onto their white list and I have never had a problem with Coinbase since. I do wish that they offered LTC - can you imagine the convenience and the boost to LTC that would be?

There are just as many bad calls around here as good ones, as would be expected.
The posters in the rpietila thread seem pretty confident in what they are predicting and have been pretty accurate as far as I can tell.

That sounds about right. I remember their prediction to be in the 400's. I'm no expert - they're calling it the capitulation?

Litecoin and ltc/btc continue to drop. Today they dropped a lot more than I would expect given that bitcoin didn't really move much. Do any experienced traders see this as a bearish sign for bitcoin? Is it possible that people are losing confidence in the market and therefore are selling alt-cryptos first before selling their bitcoin?
Litecoin is being crushed by Auroracoin. Loads of hashing power has moved across.

Lots of talk of BTC taking off sometime in the near future and of LTC as well because of the Chinese exchange offering LTC....what about PPC? Very little mention of it and the price is very low in relation to what it's been.
