Welcome back $900!  Cheesy

But for how long?

Back in January, 17, price broke $900 too, but for few hours only, then went back to $850 because of the PBOC's tweet

Sentiment world wide is very bullish, only a major hack ore China final regulation ban will make the price go down.

Or a fork.

Good AM Bitcoinland. I miss a day and miss nothing.

The battle for a grand continues... currently $1005USD (Bitcoinaverage).

It's now 13 consecutive days when it's been over $1000 at some point of the day. Getting kind of used to it.

They weren't sure if the Winklevoss twins would use their own coin or have to buy more on the open market.

Whatever the case, they said there's going to be a huge run on Bitcoin in the event the SEC passes.  Very bullish.

Let me see breaking above $12k before I begin to believe - It may take a day or two to get to $12k-ish, if we are going there, and then breaking above would be a decent sign of UP.

Yeah that’s not particularly helpful for those who want to enter before then...

Can a series of movements be taken as a more reliable sign? As in "down to 9.8k-9.9k, up again to 12.2k and slowly climbing 100$ a day for a week"? Or some hydraulic quantitative measure (using Toxic's suggestive idea of pools that fill up)?

Maybe it's too simplistic to try and define a complex situation by a simple level to be reached, if the path is not also taken into account.

If we close above 12.2k on a daily base... thats your sign...

No one other than miners needs to give the remotest shit about mining. It's their problem, not ours.

If they can't cut it, someone else will be along who can. The absolute worst case is sluggishness in the chain for a while until difficulty drops make it profitable again.

Estonia

In Estonia, verivorst (blood sausage) is very similar to Finnish mustamakkara. It is sold and eaten mostly in winter, being a traditional Christmas food. At that time there is a large variety of verivorst in stores, ranging in different shapes and sizes. Verivorst is usually cooked in an oven, but sometimes also fried in a pan. Verivorst is often eaten together with lingonberry jam, but occasionally also with butter or sour cream. Another similar dish is called verikäkk (blood dumpling). Its popularity has decreased during the past decades (possibly because of its less appealing commercial appearance) and has mostly been substituted by verivorst.

Hard times ahead..
Gotta use them miners as heat, it's the only way to mine with profitability on GPU. I don't see other choices.

Same here. I use my GPU rigs to heat the appartment. In Spring I will shut off the miners, if they are not profitable. The curious thing is that I can buy more bitcoins with my salary than with the rigs before, when it was profitable. I can spend $800 for bitcoins each month. I bought 0.4BTC this month only and now I am waiting for some inherited land to be sold for 2000$. So I will have more than 1BTC this month  Wink Speaking of waiting, this is kinda my thing for everything. I have decided (not now, but during the ATH storm last year) to wait to 2021. If I like the price I will sell some. If not, I will continue to wait to 2025, if necessary. If the price stays that low for years (I don't think this is a real possibility), I will have way more profit at the end, compared to staying at 10K range for years, which is not good enough for me to sell.

Regardless, the whole "learn to code" thing could probably be considered a decent investment in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, but now with full blown global labor arbitrage everywhere, it doesn't seem like that great of a position when you have to compete with people who will work for 1/4th to 1/10th of what you will.  The effectiveness of tariffs to stop the work from being outsourced is much lower than other fields too.

Have you looked at the video game industry and whole 'app store' bullshit lately?  It's an obvious huge bubble as well.  90% of these game devs are going to be getting the axe or going bankrupt and it will be far more brutal than the old Atari era industry crashes.  We are currently at the trough of the commodity super cycle (no, bitcoin is not a real commodity), so people invested in real world goods and industry should be making a killing soon while 'intellectual capital' will probably be taking a major hit.

Of course when I say "industry", I don't mean index stocks where the PE ratio is completely laughable like Amazon and everything else.  I mean the rise of commodity prices in general and people who benefit from that like miners and others.

calm down.... maybe the costs are 1/10 in india or 1/6-1/8 in the middle east... but what about the quality? cost for setting up such projects? communications overhead? cultural clashes? and so on and so forth...

maybe u can do some product development like this but integrating complex systems who fits customer needs.... nah... story of cost savings by <near|off>shoring are fairy tales told by the management.

i've seen a lot of projects dying due to missmanagement and wrong beliefs in the posibilities of shoring.

and please start distinguish between programming, development engineering and integrating... even programming is not everbodies taste... building good, stable, secure, user-friendly systems which are scalable and reliable is much harder

Roach isn't talking much bs today, he does have a point there. The people of poor countries all across the globe are now beginning to master the coding, and the day when they'll have just about good quality as top tier countries' programmers, the situation will be catastrophic for coders from rich countries. Plus the remote setups definitely gives the option of saving a big chunk of budget if you're starting something related to programming.

read what i wrote....

i work for companies with such settings since decades Grin
there are many issues on top but yeah... it can work... but the case why doing this changed during the last years... it's less saving money... it's more about having some "programmers" at all...
the market of free developers is fished out.

and even those countries will become more rich and produce personal needs on programming resources.

maybe it's just because programmers are the last species who will be replaced by robots  Grin

but i agree... if you are just a programmer with no other skills. it will get harder for you in the future

Our newborn Bull Market is 55 days old now. Cheesy Its rekting shorters here and there with baby green dildos as its teeth start to grow in. Soon it will be producing much larger green dildos as it learns to crawl.  Shocked

For those interested in backtested technical implications and probabilities of a baby bull market, here is a short video. This material is for serious investors and possibly those with a scholarly interest.

Yeh lets abandon the Bitcoin Network and jump on xrp version 2 lightning network (LN) instead.

I beg your pardon ?

Lightning IS Bitcoin.

Lightning transactions are not on chain, so they are therefore not Bitcoin transactions. So if LN txs are not Bitcoin txs, it follows that ...

I'm not trying to claim that LN is useless. It will likely have benefits for some limited applications. But to pin BTC's future on it when simpler methods were available... smh.

Going to have to pull you up on that one mate... LN Opens and Closed channel onchain. therefore they are BTC transactions.

On another note, i don't know why people are discounting LN. This is some awesome development/technology. What you see now may be different in 5 -10 years from now, there alot of smart people with forward thinking minds.

Not only the opening and closing are BTC transactions... but also each micropayment within the channels are done with BTC transactions which each channel partner can put on-chain.
