Dell, Paypal that I would have had wet dreams about joining bitcoin a year ago, have little to no impact on the price as it continues to edge it's way down. A lot more people have money in Bitcoin they want to get out then money exists on the order book. There is a bottom to it somewhere but pissed of panic stricken investors will severely overshoot that mark on one dark day soon. Low buy orders doubling up as you go further down from i'd say a starting point of about 200-250 depending on how much of a gambler you are!
Also be aware their could be regulatory repercussions proposed (under the guise?) to protect investors as a result of a big burst in Bitcoin.
(I'd look for the average value(s) of about 5 decent feeds of clean, logical common sense and use your own judgement too)
Agreed (mostly), but sadly your common sense isn't so common. Going below $200-250 is more bearish than I.
Agreed that's not today's bet that's post panic, but there's no point dabbling in a falling market to try and catch the small swings up, so I'm saying if you want to keep playing you might as well leave those orders in now and adjust as the landscape changes.
The market can put me out of position if I follow your strategy with my holdings.

Concur with Billy on this one. Masses need an Xt(ish)coin that lets them transact at the current price per txn, so they can roll in Bitcoin into their daily lives.
Let the fork happen, Bitcoin classic can be used as the store of value, settlement layer. Xt can be the cheap txn, coffee purchasing network.
(Or do the block size increase to buy time and hope for lightning type tech to be built to allow both use cases)

This ignores the whole value of having one uniquer ledger of ownership. We don't need another coin, additional layers can serve these needs equally well.
Bitcoins are not just some tokens that we trade back and forth. They are real estate on the blockchain ledger. We will record titles with them, time stamp creative works, etc. The ledger is what gives bitcoins value. It needs to expand because someday we may record damn near ALL titles on it and use it for almost all timestamps.
The record of almost everything that almost everybody owns will be extremely valuable and worth maintaining, even if it takes up a lot of hard drive space. When Seward bought Alaska from the Russians, he caught a lot of heat from people who didn't see the potential. That's what bitcoins are now, raw potential.

If there is enough demand by market forces, there can be two ledgers protected by a varying percentage of hashpower.
Exchanges will help determine the value of each fork. Unfortunately people are currently split on their demands of two orthogonal use cases of Bitcoin, one of which could lead to it being more centralized.
Just to be clear, fork or no fork. Both paths will lead to immense wealth creation enabled by Bitcoin tech.

The short term rally is over. When you break through the lower 1D MA and return to nearly the starting point, the rally is over. The upwards momentum you are seeing now is due to brexit, which saw the GBP drop 15% and gold rise 6% over the past few hours.
I'm afraid I can no longer trade here anymore due to the issues at Bitfinex. I could lose my whole account if the site goes down while I'm on the wrong side of a leveraged trade (especially if its ETH). Hodling on-chain is a much better proposition and guaranteed to hold some kind of value. Since I'm already at the minimum amount of coins that I'm allowed to hold in a pact that I made with myself in 2013, I have no choice but to

That looks like bitcoinity.org to me. The volume bars default to bitcoin (mBTC in fact) on bitcoinity.org and it appears that you haven't changed it. Here is the same BitStamp chart after changing volume to USD.
You're right. Not sure why the default volume listed would be denominated in bitcoin when bitcoin is a derivative of the US dollar so the only thing useful for traders is the USD volume. Anyways, on USD volume Bitfinex is down from halving while bitstamp is up.

Has anyone noticed how Dash has been the bellweather for many recent market moves? It seems to precede the Bicoin turns by anywhere from a minute to two hours. Dash has a tiniy market cap and paper thin volume, so this should not be the case, IMO.

Just remember...when selling you get hit with tax consequences (in the US).
So selling a big chunk is not the best strategy (unless you're just in it for the fiat and supporting your benevolent government with more money).
Personally I was able to retire and I can pull out $35k of my bitcoin every year tax free. I don't have to work the rest of my life.
To me that seemed a bit more important than anything I could cash out and buy.

Well, if your life is going to be dictated by what is available grab-and-go... There's beef in the supermarkets - one could make one's own. There's also pre-packaged roast beef - as in chopped/pressed/cooked/shaved variety. They have KFCs by the dozens, but I don't recall seeing sister Yum brand Arby's anywhere. Though I assume for such a person, Arby's doesn't have roast beef sandwiches either.
Mystifying is the limited selection of TexMex ingredients - tortillas, shells, salsas, etc. It's available, but only one or two items in each category. OTOH, there is almost Hawaii levels of variety of Spam. Go figure. Navy influence?

Our glorious overlords apparently have not filled their bags enough yet so feel the need to push the price back downwards. I believe this trend will continue for a month or so until right before Consensus. Where miraculously bitcoin and shitcoin alike will again start to gravitate upwards towards new yearly highs.
All dramatics aside(or maybe this should read to fully embrace the drama), I think the basic problem is still the battle of forks between btc and bch and btcsv. Every time one trys to pump their coins there is an almost immediate dump to drive prices back down and vice versa.
Its really getting quite old dont you think? It is really quite striking to watch this technological wonder grow yet not have a shred of confidence in its price due to the actions of a few. Same as it ever was. #dyor
