I'll just leave this here for all of those who miss Clarkmoody's BingBong sounds:
http://bitcoinsounds.0x3d.lu/This started out as a little dirty hack for myself but as Bitcoin is quite boring today I polished it a little and so with this post consider it as released!
Update @ 23/04/2014: Made some improvements in the tool

Just wait until tonight or tomorrow then the US wakes up. Shit's gonna hit the fan (in a good way).
And still sinking , btc is doomed.
From that same article: "Caballero’s team has big plans aside from Facebook and is currently working on a universal tipping platform for WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Xenforo, PHPBB and others."
Wordpress: runs on 12,325,231 sites according to
http://trends.builtwith.com/cms/WordPress (switch chart data to "the entire internet") and in WP's own words "Over 409 million people view more than 14.5 billion pages each month. Users produce about 42.6 million new posts and 54.5 million new comments each month."
Drupal: 749,892 sites (
http://trends.builtwith.com/cms/Drupal) and according to their own stats on May 25th they had 1,047,711 installations
Joomla: 3,026,094 sites (
http://trends.builtwith.com/cms/Joomla!)
Xenforo: 7,410 sites (
http://trends.builtwith.com/cms/XenForo)
PHPBB: 31,794 sites (
http://trends.builtwith.com/cms/phpBB)
That's more than 16 million Websites and what must be around half a billion users waiting to tip and get tipped in Cryptos!

But that is not good news for bitcoin, is it? It is a competitor, not an adopter.
Those scam coins will eventually be doomed to fail. The main point is Facebook allows crypto coin apps
It says "Universal tipping platform" so I guess that includes Bitcoin. All of these as-of-yet BTC-unaware Joe Averages will start to see things popping up such as "Like my article/blogpost/video/whatever? Fund/support/tip me with some WhateverCoins" and that should lead to them having to buy those WhateverCoins first because of course mining is way to complicated for your Joe Average.
Also it could lead to a leveling of the Altcoin playing-field when a mass of those crypto-unaware users can buy whatever coin they deem fit for their needs which to me seems like one big step in the direction of mass adoption of cryptos in general which, correct me if I'm wrong, is what we're all waiting for.

Check the fundamental analysis thread. The average rate of adoption continues to increase at a steady rate.

This is definitely my favorite chart for the last months. Is there a name for this pattern?

Nothing new from Amazon really but a few hours ago I asked them (in german, translated below):
Hello,
When will we be able to pay with Bitcoins at Amazon now that Microsoft is on board?
Their response:
Good evening, Mr. <censored>
Thanks for contacting Amazon.de.
Unfortunately for the time being we don't offer the payment method "Bitcoin". Amazon.de accepts Visa, Mastercard/Eurocard and American Express (including prepaid cards from those brands) as well as direct debit and payment on invoice. Thanks for your understanding.
However, we do monitor the development, events and applications of new payment methods very closely. Customer feedback is also evaluated regularly at Amazon.de so we can adjust our processes to your wishes.
We're constantly looking to improve our customer's experience and to that end I have forwarded your e-mail to the responsible department and I thank you for your suggestion.
Should you have any more questions, [blah blah blah]
So apparently they haven't been bugged enough just yet, hence my call to all of you:
Send a message to Amazon, even as short as mine above will do the trick.Don't try emailing them directly, you'll get a silly automatic reply telling you to use their pretty damn well hidden contact form while being logged in. Well here's the direct link
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/features-services so go on and tell them what we want!

And we have confirmation: second negative difficulty re-target in a row since 2012 and so far a third seems to follow in 2 weeks.

And although the axis on the chart below aren't related to each other it clearly says that the world's fastest supercomputer (the Bitcoin network) is waaay underfunded right now.

People are opening longs at 0.75% a day FFS! The entire USD Long end has been wiped...
Last time this happened, the price dropped 30% the 30 days following the spike. Obviously, this isn't reason to believe it will happen again in that same way, but it is a possible warning sign.
Is all the USD in long positions or simply reserved?
Dont know.. probably reserved now that you mention it.
Seems BFX recently added a column on their stats-page called "Total amount used in margin positions". Right now lowest available swap is a whopping 0.3% while stats look like this:
Currency Flash Return Rate (*) Average Variable Rate on TRS (**) Total sum of active swaps Total amount used in margin positions
USD 0.1047% 0.0374% 20,812,097.42 USD 20,393,559.40 USD
20.3 out of 20.8 mios used in open positions, so it's exactly the opposite: almost nothing is reserved (which seems like a silly and expensive idea anyways given how static the rates were these past few months).
However, swaps almost all used up to me suggests a top or at least some days of choppy sideways action. Bitstamp's huge wall keeping us down as well... I smell a weekend rallye, 361.53 before Monday

fuuuuu uuuuu ck diddily uck ... now i'm only at $1000+ since start of the year instead of $2500+ ... god damned $40 drop in a couple hours ... seriously ? ... you sonsobitches ! ... wtf happened to looking to cross over past 300 and stay above 300 ? ... at least i'm still in the black ... but still ... do the whales realize that every time they shock slam the market for double digit % loss in a matter of hours it further erodes and damages the perception of bitcoin as being a legitimate currency/commodity/thing to invest in whatsoever ?
They don't care
Banks and governments definitely do care because obviously they still aren't too happy about this whole crypto-thing (fear of loosing power, their grip on international finance and whatnot).
Now is it really that far fetched or tinfoilish to believe this dump is (partially/once again) their work? Buy several kBTC from some big chinese miner or steal them from drug markets, dump on the exchanges and enjoy the bad vibes all around crypto-town, watch the rats leave the ship. If rats are stubborn idealists, repeat until they do.
Our gubermints obviously have the gunpowder to pull this off, a million $ or two means absolutely nothing to those guys, for us it's a double-digit percentage drop. Well, repeat until... real scarcity kicks in. The only way to win is to keep playing this game
