I refuse to use an exchange with more than a few seconds of lag.

Why is it that the Bears always try to make it so that "the lag is causing prices to go up"? Is it not obvious to everyone that lag causes the prices to go down? Lag creates fear, fear causes selling etc.

Shall I sell my BTC, that would make the price explode for sure!

I find these indicators to be the most reliable, far better than all the TA. My theory is: "The price moves in the direction that creates the most grief for the highest amount of people."

With that said, I really don't understand why people are selling; everything fundamental is growing stronger each day. When I look at the press and public awareness, I can only see bullish signals.

You joking right? Articles about bitcoins aren't fundamentals. Arguably, exchanges aren't either, but practically speaking they are and they have been dropping closing like flies.

Not joking, but then it seems you misread my post. Let me break it down for you:

1. Everything fundamental is growing stronger each day.
2. Even in the press, there is plenty of bullish signals.

I did not say that press = fundamentals. English is not my native language, since I am from Sweden after all. So forgive me if my first post was unclear.

During the months of the year when ice cream sales goes up we can see a significant rise in the amount of drowning accidents. Therefore, ice cream causes drownings.

Or, maybe drownings make people want to buy ice cream.

Or, there is some other factor.

I have also bullish outlook but a bit different: Wednesday will be the strongest day like last week. The low-volume calm period has been very long now and this usually means strong moves. I'm pretty sure they'll point upwards. Not quite as bullish as rpietila, though. 0.14 on monday is possible, maybe tuesday. 0.16 on wednesday possible. 0.20? probably not this week.

So I've been carefully going long(er) this weekend, buying the dips. As long as $0.12 isn't breached I consider lower price like now a buying opportunity.

why are you quoting prices in mBTC ?

For the same reason we normally deal with gold in ounces or grams instead of kilos.

Loss of confidence.

Because of silk road? Or what? Bitcoin ATM is comming tomorrow, the protocol has not been breached, there is no superior cryptocurrency to take bitcoins place, the press is positive, etc, etc.

I've seen all the $500, $1000 and even $300k coin statements.  I truly hope that happens for people but if that's the case, who are these people paying $500-$300k per coin?

When/if the time comes for the $300k coins:

A) People will have stopped refering to whole coins when comparing prices, rather mBTC or most likely even lower.
B) Except for "people" to buy in at those prices, that kind of growth requires governments treating Bitcoin as a reserve currency.

I strongly agree with Risto's opinion about $300k coins, but perhaps not before the end of the year. Before the end of the decade? That's very much possible.

I do think we will see $1k-$5k coins this year.

Going below $100 again? Possible, but not very likely for a prolonged period of time.

Let's focus on the real issue. People like posting walls, and chart buddy makes them redundant. Look at this page, most of the posts are from chartbuddy. It has a negative effect on the overall quality of the tread because it derails discussion and we end up focusing on dumb stuff. This is fine, but I think everything would be better if we went back to a human dominated wall observer.

Interesting point. Part of the reason I wrote ChartBuddy was the hope that having movement be visible on an ongoing basis would help spark conversation. That doesn't particularly seem, to have been the case though. Then again, we have seen a whole lot of stability recently (coincidence or conspiracy? Smiley )

The problem with ChartBuddy is the 3D-effect. It's simply to hard to read (not hard to understand, just hard to read). I find Bitcoinity to be the easiest to read when I want to see the walls.

I never felt this need with gold BTW.
As a store of value, some things are better seen as expensive.
Ie: "oh noes, gold is $1000+ an ounce ... better talk in grams!"

This makes no sense. Why not use Kilo then, since that is the standard unit?

No, kilogram is the SI unit.

(The only SI base unit with a prefix IIRC)

I stand corrected.    Appologies for making such a conclusive statement without checking my facts. I thought it was another silly American who didnt understand the prefixes. I actually should have known this even without looking it up.

Btw: Does anyone know did SI chose this?

Sorry to disappoint you. Silly Swede here, we know our standard units. Wink

I would actually prefer if the price stabilized right around here and consolidated for a couple of weeks before moving on. To much of a hype right now, and the base is way down lower, around 185-200. I am afraid that a failed attempt to break through ATH would be very bad right now.
