following up on the ebay talk from some earlier posts.
This past May as part of my day job I had diner with one of PayPal's Chief Architects (there are several titled that way, I won't identify him further.) I asked him what PayPal thinks of bitcoin. He said that he loved the technology, that PayPal was following it closely and that they are interested in figuring out how to integrate it into their platform. There was a group of us at the table and the conversation went another way and i didn't really follow it up.
But based on my conversation with the guy from PayPal I think the call from ebay could be real. Integration could be some time off, or never, who knows.....

interest rates to borrow usd are sky high just now on bitfinex.
300%!!
wha? you can short USD?
you lend your USD to traders at wtv % interest you want.
no one is lending right now... thats why its 300% interest, i guess its because the bulls exhausted the USD, everyone is long.
I locked in 20k for 60 days at 36% just a day and a half ago at bitfinex.
It's costing me $19/day to hold 139 btc for the next 2 months.
Awesome platform.

i would be happy to lend $ at that rate...
Loans at those rates don't last long. At best you might get a day or two

you mean poeple actually take the loan

I don't! But somebody who thinks the price is going up 1% a day does.

No, you're right. Its why CampBX isnt important. If they went to $500 it wouldnt effect the other markets at all.
If CBX went to $500 I'd move coins there and sell them, move fiat to my bank, then wire it back to bitfinex.
Hell, at that price you could just buy the coins thru localbitcoins.

Its time to sell all?? its going to correct down? or it going for 700??? Cant sleep...
Depends on so many factors. I think, first of all, you decide whether you have already had your maximum number of bitcoins or are still accumulating.
If accumulating, buy all the time and especially on dips. Now is not a 'dip', but it still qualifies for 'all the time'.
If divesting, sell on peaks. If you are sitting on good gains, it might be good to start selling already. Sell a total of 20% in this peak that we will be having soon.
Whether it is a peak or a dip, construct a
rising exponential trendline and follow it.
Do not swing-trade or daytrade unless you know. I don't know any successful bitcoiners who daytrade.
Im still accumulating, but trying to sell on peaks to buy later cheaper, ive sold almost all at 400 but finally bought again at 500 and now i dont really know what to do, im a beginner... looks like it going up to maybe 1k i dont want to lose the train lol, neither the crash explode on my face ;-)
It is easy to panic when the price drops. But assuming you aren't using borrowed money and you don't need your cash back out for a little bit, resist the urge to sell.
Just wait it out. Nothing about the long-term advantages of bitcoin will have changed.

I am providing some USD loans on finex. I was surprised to see that they were still there after the flash crash. Not liquidated and not closed out because they are so under water. I guess I'm glad the exchange dropped their max leverage to 2.5.

Well it was an interesting ride--learned a lot, and hopefully spared from future speculations that would have gone bad.
Will still have my eye on BTC, but full fiat now.
--2011, the year I learned about BTC
--2014, the year I bought and mined BTC, but obsessed about it, lost money, etc.
Perspective is a funny thing.
you waited a year too long.
