Scarcity doesn't drive up price, does it?

"Team America: World Police"

Somebody's got to do it...while the rest of the world rides the fence and begs the US for handouts.  Everybody "hates" America but you all love our mighty dollar.

I'm not sure what you mean, but maybe you should read "John Perkins - Confessions of an economic hitman" regarding the "handouts".

Good book.  Shock some people here know how to read books.

Or better yet, check out the zeitgeist film series, featuring John Perkins and others.

are you directly involved in the venus project? i remember stumbling upon it a few years ago

I'm a local coordinator for the Zeitgeist Movement, which was ostensibly the activist arm of the Venus Project. I continue to advocate for the intelligent management of resources for the benefit of all people.

Suggestion for chartbuddy: Make the leading price edge line, the front line on z-axis if you will, a rainbow gradient with each pure color set on a modulus 10 price point. Say, red (#FF0000) is pegged to $100, and each $10 dollar increment has a gradient progression to the next pure color in either direction ($90 is Violet, $110 is Orange, etc.). That way, when the screens are put together in video format, we can easily determine the price movement.

Just an idea. What do you guys think?

After further consideration, this might work better on a modulo 5 price point color shift.

DeathAndTaxes is very good at math.I really like his posts.

For example 65 million difficulty gaining 75% per month for a year results in 50 billion difficulty.  The electrical cost even at 1W/GH and $0.10 per kWh would >$250 per BTC.

This is actually pretty funny. The basis of a currency is how many resources must be wasted to make it. I like.

Waste and inefficiency is the basis for any monetary system. Capitalism thrives on overpricduction and overconsumpton. If you want a sane economic model, look into a resource based economy.

Ode to ChartBuddy, welcome back
(With apology to Sting-I'll be watchig you)

Every coin I stake
And every move you make
Every high you break
Every wall they fake
Ill be watching you

Every single day
And every move I pray
That my coins will stay
Through the night OK
Ill be watching you

Oh, cant you seeeeeee
Coins belong to meeeee
Now my poor heart aches
With every coin they take

Every chart you make
Every bank you break
Every pattern they fake
Every coin I stake
Ill be watching you

Since you've gone, I've been lost in this rat race
I dream at night, I can only watch this place
I look around but its you I cant replace
I feel so bold and I long for gap retrace
I keep crying chartbuddy please....

Oh, cant you see
Coins belong to me
Now my poor heart aches
Every coin you take

Every coin I stake
And every move you make
Every bond you break
Every wall they fake
Ill be watching you
Ill be watching you
Ill be watching you

If you want to stop heinous crimes, investigate in and encourage the creation of a better society not dominated by a sick and invalid monetary game. In a resource based economy, there would be no invalid authority or distorted values that stem from the use and abuse of money.

I think there is a chance the bitcoin representatives may have to walk out on this hearing. Nothing good can come of this if they have already decided bitcoin is directly associated with child porn.

It wouldn't surprise me if they try create a slander campaign and bait the media. Thats all we need is the media saying bitcoin is associated with child pornography. seems to me the feds are playing dirty as usual on this one

If bitcoin were so closely tied to child pornography, wouldn't the Catholic church have already endorsed it by now?

I'm just joking of course. I have no significant position in bitcoin.

"Thanksgiving day, while many of us were eating turkey, The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published JPMorgan Chase’s (Chase) patent application 20130317984, “Method and system for processing internet payments using the electronic funds transfer network.”  The application was filed with the USPTO on August 5th, 2013.

Without mentioning Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies at all for that matter, Chase appears to be building a competing centralized network to Bitcoin."
