I've seen all the $500, $1000 and even $300k coin statements. I truly hope that happens for people but if that's the case, who are these people paying $500-$300k per coin? Because I know who it's not going to be.
As far as I understood this, your problem is the psychological barrier of "one unit for over 100 dollar", right? But does it really matter? I don't care if I get 1 BTC for 100 $ or only 1 for 1000 $, all that matters for me is the relative value and it's change: 20 % value gain is 20 % value gain, even if I pay 300k $ for "one unit", isn't it?
But I feel with you. I support that mBTC "movement".

BTC has been over $100 most of the last 2 months. People didn’t have a problem when we had plenty of volatility. People don’t like it now, because woops, the volatility didn’t bail you out. So you’re faced with buying back at a higher price point and having fewer coins. Then you’d have to deal with the realization you shouldn’t have sold. Instead of facing that fact, you’d rather go trade another Cryptocoin. I could use $5000 to buy 44 BTC, or I could buy 1,500 Litecoins! FUCK YAH IMMA MAKE IT RAIN LITECOINS!
If that 44 vs 1,500 makes it look like a better deal, heading to litecoins is probably a good idea. However I’d suggest instead of $5,000, drop your investment pool down to like $5. Emotionally that’s a much easier number to deal with when trading.
This is how I imagine weak bears moving to other markets to trade because triple digit BTC rocks their world.

The 'problem' is that the current sell off is happening in slow motion. There is no panic selling going on at all, just a couple dumps over the course of a day and no real buying pressure to bring the price back up. This makes it hard to predict a bottom or a bounce, it could slide down for a while longer until bulls finally wake up.
"Slow motion" it took 2 years for gold to do the same corrections (or what ever we call it).

It's not a grey area in the US, very black and white. If you exchange USD for Virtual Convertible Currency (i.e. Bitcoin) you are obligated to register with the Federal Government (the FinCEN Guideline).
AFAIK, Fincen paper is just a "guidance" at this moment. No Laws for the moment, so no obligation.

I'm using different methods and indicators, and I don't place much emphasis on support levels, but my overall interpretation is probably quite similar: since early July we are in phase that could potentially reverse the overall downtrend since the April peak.
I'm a bit more cautious than you, perhaps. We've had such potential reversals before, and they didn't last in the end, but for now, I would see the price staying above 100, or even slightly below, as a relatively strong signal that the early July trend persists, that could take us out of the larger downtrend.
I'm using also a different and more accurate method named "ichimoku". But it's less clear to display.
If you know about it, the results are realy goods regarding the daily closes above the clouds (1st time for several month)

Bistamp convert EUR to USD instantly on deposit/withdraw without almost fees. So EUR or USD it's the same.

Its a good summary, Syria has an enormous strategic importance in the area for geopolitical reasons.
You know how this works: the bad guys are supposed to be the muslim fundamentalist, Al Qaeda and such (you know, those who organized 9/11 and all that stuff), but they were also our friends when there was a war to be fought against the commies, or right now, as we need to destroy a moderate Muslim country like Syria together with our beloved allies the Islamic fundamentalists from Saudi Arabia... Its all about oil and taking a strong position in the area, as the China/Iran/Russia fellowship is making a lot of money there and you know this is all about money, right?

I add my 2 cBtc, objectively: In the past I held also a protfolio of different alts (PPC, TRC, LTC, NMC, FTC, DVC). Only NMC (Namecoin) had good stability and keep rather well its value (all tanked realy hard).
I to be complete I'd like to add that NVC seems to be as good as NMC. I still don't figure why, but it's seems that it's a bit shady and btc-e is behind.

There seems to be a trend in which we keep approaching that cloud at a lower and lower point and make a closer and closer call to evade it.
The next time we probably won't make it and will fall underneath it. We might even fall underneat it right now on a retracement.
It we trended back underneath the cloud would that be bearish?
Exactly, the theory about that indicator teach us that when the price (and the other non-displayed lines of the indicators) are under the cloud, we tend to be in a very bearish scenario. Especially in the case of long term view.
In that case, the bullish scenario since the inception is still on the way/validated. Confirmed if we stay over 640 then 720 for the next few weeks.

I traded full-time for years and I suspect the buy and hold crowd will outperform 70-90% of those attempting to trade BTC. Yes, some will do well and out trade the trends, but BTC is so news driven it's hard to get cute with a trade. Yes, technicals work, but look at Nov/Dec and how incredibly over bought BTC became. I would have sold WAY early if I followed the technicals during that period. Just sayin......

Your thinking is broken.
If eur/usd pumps, it means that USD weakens, so it gives BTC vs USD a reason to go north/up/pump.

I like being wrong so I can learn.
But.. I know that most financial institutions don't use TA, they stick with FA. I understand how TA works, and I can see the math (engineer here), but unfortunately Bitcoin has a lot of bad TA done, not naming even h&s correctly. TA is all very interesting and I believe it can *help* when trading, but it is not in any way fool-proof.. Actually, there's a lot of fools
I tend to disagree, Bitcoin due to its juvenile and emotional aspects is way more easier to TA than any other markets.
Just zoom out the <2h candles and you'll have very good signals.
However the most over hyped TA geo pattern (like H&S) just sucks. But lines never lies haha.
