We just tickled $99, less than $10K to $100 now. Will we see it today?

if not soon why later?  Huh
Because later is much harder to predict :-) Perhaps we'll never see double-digits again, I have no idea.

Do you realize we've been in triple digits for one week now? 18K BTC down to 100, and we just hit 3-day highs. The Gox trading engine is lagging, which is usually a bullish signal. S3052 tweeted "Bitcoin trading to become more violent in the next few months." Interesting times ahead.

Insanity is the financial system we have. Bitcoin is sanity.

Satoshi worked in Bitcoin for years prior to the 2008 crisis. He had likely thought the financial system was insane for a long time.

This just means that the top is not yet around the corner. The faster it grows, the sooner it crashes.
These quiet days (aka "consolidation") during uptrends are typically followed by new violent breakouts upwards. After a day or two, everybody decides that the new price level is accepted by everybody else, and then they continue buying. While a bursting bubble seems to pop when the market is already very volatile. Both April 2013 and 2011 are examples of this.

Sundays have been strong days recently as well (no idea why; perhaps buyers think Monday will be the strong day so they try to get in early before the price goes up?). I think tomorrow will be interesting.

If this is really a common belief, we should see this rally start already today, because people with lots of fiat already on exchanges after the sell-off will want to get in early. "Easily misinterpreted" characterises this whole "crash". Nobody knows what Bitcoin is doing right now. You would have to suffer a serious disorder in order to honestly believe you did. So the "bulls" are only hyping because they worry sick that they shouldn't have bought, and the bears are crying doom because they worry sick that they shouldn't have sold.

Everybody here knows this, of course.

The investment firm has apparently raised even more money than SecondMarket's Bitcoin Invesment Trust. I'll repost with details and firm names once the full story is pieced together.

76. Post 4241323 (copy this link) (by capsqrl) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_11.49h):

This is the mystical hedge fund rumor from yesterday:

Quote
From Dan Primack at Fortune:

Bitcoinana: In September we discussed how SecondMarket had launched the first U.S.-based investment vehicle dedicated exclusively to Bitcoin, called The Bitcoin Investment Trust (beating out the Winklevii, who remain stuck in regulatory limbo). Now comes word that Fortress Investment Group is prepping its own Bitcoin fund, which likely will be much larger than the SecondMarket offering.

Details remain scarce, although there are some rumors that some info could be revealed tonight at the Bitcoin New Year’s Eve Bash down on Broad Street (yes, this is an actual thing). But it is worth noting that Fortress earlier this year acquired Koru Ventures, a provider of patent-backed loans to tech companies, in order to launch an IP finance group. Among Koru’s principals (and new Fortress employees) was Steven Waterhouse (ex-CTO of RPX Corp.), whose LinkedIn profile yesterday said that he had just become a partner on an unnamed Bitcoin fund. After I sent Waterhouse an email requesting more info – and also placing a call with Fortress – the Bitcoin mention disappeared from his LinkedIn page (replaced only with “TBD”).

My understanding, however, is that the Fortress effort will be something like a currency ETF (similar to Bitcoin Investment Trust), but that Fortress also may raise a separate vehicle to back Bitcoin-related startups. And there likely is some relationship to a new Bitcoin-related fund raised by Pantera Capital, a San Francisco-based hedge fund whose clients are known to include several Fortress executives. Pantera founder Dan Moorehead declined to discuss his Bitcoin efforts or relationship to Fortress – including if his effort and the Fortress fund were one in the same – but an SEC filing indicates that he already has raised around $150 million, and Pantera recently participated in a VC round for crypto-currency payment network Ripple Labs. Moreover, calls to Pantera’s main number are now met with a voicemail that only identifies the firm as “Pantera Bitcoin.”

Just as yesterday, today we're seeing slow and continuous rising starting from early UTC morning. Also just as yesterday, perhaps we'll see a bull run tonight?

Guys, I'm sorry, I have been lying and deceiving you. That $1435-thing I wrote about earlier was just pure speculation. We're in for a rough ride. I am going full fiat and I suggest you do the same
And this time you're not lying, and we should totally trust you with our financial decisions?

This Peter Wynn character just has to suffer some unfortunate mental disorder. He speculates that BitPay added a backdoor for Zynga and that's how money disappeared from his BTC-e account because BitPay also has a backdoor to BTC-e, or something CRAZY. His profile says he's a "crypto prodigy", but people are having to explain password hashing to him. Meanwhile he seems to tweet about once per 15 seconds. Could be a manic episode maybe?

Weekend rally again :S

Nothing new here, until tomorrow or monday when some traders will take profits again and bring us to $890-$900 levels for the remaining of the week.
SO BORING.
