Time to say Thank's because im not sell my bitcoin under 220$ and now price 225$

people have to understand that investing in Bitcoin is highly speculative and a is NOT an hedge against crashing global markets.

Besides, there's a huge difference between Gox's problems and the minor hiccups we've seen from Bitfinex and Bitstamp.
People on Finex have several times reported now:
-randomly opening /closing of positions.
-having positions with 2x the max margin
-Unable to trade for hrs.
-Super laggy engine which makes it essentially impossible to trade in high volume times. Just like Mt. Gox was.
What else do you need? That's more then just a hick up.

Hi everyone.
Will we see BTC under 200$ this year again?
depends on a lot of things.
If the Global markets keep crashing and go over to a bear market, we will very likely see btc sub 200$.
also how this XT civil war goes plays a big role in the end.

Was trading stopped on Bitfinex again?
There was a big gap when no trades occurred and all the other exchanges were trading during it. There have been so many gaps when trading was stopped on Bitfinex that I have come to expect it now.

the conversation with the bitfinex CTO yesterday night showed pretty clearly how incompetent they are. And as it seems there is no sign for it to get better anytime in the near future.
I don't understand why there are still so many people still stay there and exposing their self of getting screwed once we get some volatility again...

On other news, following the China motif, EU and now US stocks are plummeting. It seems we're in for a hell of a month gentlemen. I wonder how this will be interpreted for BTC...
The Dow Jones Industrial Average started off the month with a triple-digit tumble Tuesday as investors fled risky assets such as global equities following a fresh set of weak Chinese economic data.
China’s official manufacturing purchasing managers index fell to a three-year low, triggering a wide selloff in stocks across Asia as well as Europe.http://www.marketwatch.com/story/china-growth-fears-slam-us-stock-futures-sharply-lower-2015-09-01Move along, nothing to see here.
BTC doesn't really react to global news... We tried to pump on the Greece/ China stock market crash but it was without any substantial behind it.
Even LTC has much more influence on Bitcoin...

I think it will be a good time to buy a 10x Bitcoins.
Not sure if we'll hit 210 but I fully agree that now is a great time to start buying more whilst the price is so low. Technically if you were to buy 10 now at these prices you should double your money as a result of the halving next year.
Buy & HODL people.

I think it's a good sign that we are still holding at 230 knowing all the economic turmoil happening lately with many countries. Lets see where things will lead in the next 4 months.
there are currently no economic turmoil... We currently just have concerns because the growth especially of china is slowing down. They always had double digits growth and is now slowing down to 5-7%.. Once their GDP starts going negative, then we can start talking about economic turmoil..
Looks like bitcoin has had its prime time as it seems...

it will not happen. had massive dubble bottom on BFX and thats because of the margin domino effect.
other exchanges have a higher high.. around 200 ..
the weekly looks like it's time for reversal..
buy 220 225 sell 310 zone.. and wait until we get out of this sideways. (+316$)
people have called reversal like 10 times now...

The pump got the daily MACD to cross to positive, also flipped the daily PSAR to bullish, so we will go up for a while.
But considering the huge Chinese volume (if it's not fake), for the relatively small price increase, breaking further resistance levels won't be easy.
MACD isn't an indicator for buying/selling.
It just shows the same things you can already see on the chart.... Just a bit more obvious

After starting buying bitcoin in September 2013 at 130$, all the way up to 1200$. Then accumulating further all the way down .... if it keeps the pace I will finally reach break even in about .... 10 minutes

Same here, bought from $800 all the way down to $200. Now nearly at break-even again. I'm fine with a slow rise, but this is ok too.
every parabolic rise is followed by a crash. If you want bitcoin to gain real value you want to have a steady slow growth developing.

.... why do people not bother to look back at past bubbles... expand it out and see that there were deep retraces lasting days before the parabolic uptrend resumed... compressed onto a 2 year graph it looks like a straight line up but there are important details being overlooked...
it already went parabolic and hit 500$... the problem is we are still in an area where were 1-2 years ago... That means bagholders are all the way up to 1200$.
It's totally different to go parabolic into a new never seen area (first push to 1200$) or in a zone where we where (more or less) consolidating...
Because we stopped right at 500$ I see this as a fomo break out I don't think we will push much higher any time soon then the recent 500$. We might get close to the area again but I don't think >1000$ is possible right now. Not without big news
This pump really reminds me to the recent EUR/USD push where a lot of people fomo bought it up to insane highs... Yet EUR/USD broke down rapidly after it look really great.
In trading you really can't tell whats going to happen next. You can only bet on the better ods from your point of view

4h EMA on OKcoin going to cross with next candle... some bots will probably turn into buy mode.
Once we get to 600 and then see the first weekly red candle, then the mini-rally is over. If you were in the business of speculation or wanted to lighten up, the good time to sell is the dcb after that. So wait for the bubble, and the pop, and the next bounce. Then sell.
Few words more about that? Why 600$?
MACD is nothing else then a lagging indicator... It's the same as looking at the chart and say "Oh wow it goes up!" ... It's just visualized for the blind trader...

Edit: If you want to make money in Bitcoin or even in the stock market. Wait for a trend to develop and trade off of it in the same direction. Don't try and time the end of bear trends or bull trends.
If you bet the same amount of money each time and take your emotions out of the picture you should be able to win more than you lose and make money overall.
It's a solid strategy, but makes more sense trading the common stuff like EUR/USD. With Bitcoin there's just too many variables that can change the direction fast.
the clearer a trend becomes the more likely it gets that the trend will end...
If it would be that easy to simply buy into something because it goes up trading wouldn't work. If you buy there is always somebody betting on the other side of your trade.

I disagree, but that's what makes a market.
I do buy high sell higher rather than buy low sell high and it's worked for me for years.
The more simple your strategy and the lower number of trades you make the more money you make IMO.
What I mean is, you always buy it from somebody who thinks the price will go in his way... it doesn't mean he has to short it all the way up but still...
Some people here think trading overall is easy just because they were lucky a few times... it's not about being right all the time it's about being consistence in your decisions and not about being right all the time because that is impossible..
In the end it doesn't matter if the price goes up or down. That's what most people here will never understand when trading... Buy and Pray is not a good trading tactic long or short term..

That chart analysis talks about leveraged shorting as the reason why this recent rally didn't go up to $1200 and why it's going down from here. Do we not also have leveraged long trades now too lol? I'm not understanding this point at all.
I can't predict what direction we go from here. But I will predict that there's not going to be much more time spent under the $300s. If we revisit those levels at all, it will be brief IMHO
I meant back in 2012-2013 Short trading was not available for most people. They Simply bought longs and sold and bought back lower to make money... Leverage was also not really a trading option back then.
Now we have all these options that's why I think the recent 500$ is equal to the 1200$ spike back then and that we should slide down from here and make a new low sub 300$ at least.
for every high there will be a low. and we have to find a new low from here I guess...

yeah..but the pump was to $500, and we are now trending in upper $300s, just $30 or so above the resitance zone which was tested 3 times, over the space of several months, and which was emphatically breached last week....
How low do people really think Bitcoin will correct from $505!?
Maybe the 500$ pump is the new 1200$ pump? Who knows?
a lot of emotions unloaded and a lot of fomo trading was done. With all the leverage shorting going on, reaching 1200$ is a total different story then back in 2012 when we had almost no leverage trading and no short trading as well... That makes the story totally different this time...

What gets me is just how brazen and rude it is
Rational people just roll their eyes when Bitcoin goes up and they're alway right
Not really. It's pretty simple; as soon as the demand becomes greater than the supply we're going up. This is just natural and I'm eager to see what is going to happen near and after the halving. Didn't the price always fluctuate (mostly towards down) after the Bitcoin auctions? Both sides are pretty weak depending on where you look. It could go either way anytime (although staying at $300 would be good).
Don't get me wrong: I do not want to compare BTC to LTC but as far as I remember the LTC halving didn't have much impact on LTC prices.
I'm not saying that it will be the same thing with BTC but it seems to me there are other things, much more powerful, that can shake the BTC trading for the good or the bad. So far what I've seen always happening is that when chinese buy, volume and price tend to the sky
Actually i think it trippled in value..then stopped on double value
Look at the chart from August 25th onwards: nothing really happened. Only a very tiny increase in volume nothing else
Look at the chart on july, the value went 8x up...of course the effect of halving on price comes some time before the event
you always have to remember that these tiems where totally different. No Leverage trading, the only way to make money was buy bitcoin low and selling them high. It was almost like the altcoin market currently.
Now with all the options it's and the much bigger market cap then back then it's quiet unlikely to have these spikes again...

I'm pretty sure this price action has scared away any potential for "new money". I'm out. Buying back in low $200's.
I kinda agree. It already looks like a hard rejection on the 3d chart. The only question is if we can hold the trendline or fall back to the old 200$ pattern.
The situation would be very very different if we would have people buying at low 400$ and consolidation there. But at the edge of sub 300$ and still very small short/Long ration I guess people will start considering shorting this down to squeeze even more longs.

Post 12992082 (copy this link) (by TReano) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.34h):
The extreme opposite viewpoint is that there is demand for 25BTC/block * 6block/hr * 24hr/day * $320/BTC = $1,152,000 worth of BTC per day. This $1.15 M demand may stay the same across the halving. This would indicate an equal value. In such a case, the new equilibrium price would be $640.
Granted, the truth will likely be somewhere in between.
Of course, I am of the opinion that BTC is drastically undervalued today. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.
No way is the price going to double at the point of the having though. It will climb in the leadup to the halving which will result in more hashing power being brought online which will cause the difficulty to increase. Now, it's possible that the price will climb enough, faster than hashing power is added that there will be enough profit to not encourage miners to switch off and there may be some other factors as well but there's nothing solid.
also what most people don't know is, the current price always contains ALL information currently available. This includes the next reward halving, the current possibility of mass adoption, the current possibility of current total failure etc. etc.
The price does not reflect the current price of something it is always reflects the speculation of future prices which drives it. This is the same for all Forex / Commodities / Stock-Markets...
Halving is just a reason to be a reason to pump&dump BTC just like it happened everytime at the altcoin market / btc / ltc halving in the past.

lol there are almost no bears in the market... Look at the positions everybody is bullish... This is how the market currently looks when everybody is bullish..
We only have ~5k BTC margin short on BFX while there are over 22 million$ (at current price ~64k BTC) Margin Long... That's a ratio of 12.8 : 1..
And all these people want to cash out at profit. There is not even a option for a shortqueez while a long squeez will crush some people buying the breakout..
Not saying it will go down because of that, but it won't go up because there are any bears in the market which could be squeezed.

Well, yellen want an up of rates on dollar ... less than 2%.
that's why euro surge.
that's wrong.
The reason for the crazy Eur/usd rally today was the ECB rate decision. The market expected Mario draghi not just to expend the time period of the QE program but also expend the quantity of the program to over 100 Billion € per month. But that didn't happen. If it would have happened a parody move would have been likely.
So this was a lot of shorts getting stopped. But I still think the EU will reach parody phase because the FED rising interest rates is likely in 2 weeks.

Some of you (bears) need to accept we are now in BULL mode. For the next few years at least. So, yes we will have dips and corrections, but the general trend is now- UP. Don't fight the trend.

hahahahahahahahaha
Few years..... gosh??? I wished. We have been in bull mode for a couple of months now, but surely the beginning stages of bull mode are surely difficult to identify, until after the fact.
Even though bitcoin is an overall bullish investment, I want to suggest that bitcoin's history has shown that clear bull markets do not tend to last for very long, and I would not expect this particular bull mode to be much different from the past.
Surely history is not going to repeat itself, exactly because several dynamics have changed including some of the BTC infrastructure and also the base of players seems to have become considerably broader.
For sure, I cannot exactly predict how the current bull market is going to play out, but few years seems to be very considerable overstatement.
Maybe on the outside 1 year of a bull market could be possible, but more realistically if we get 3-9 more months out of this baby, we will be doing pretty well.
We can certainly pass previous ATh in 3-9 months, and it could be possible to get a couple of violent upsurges in a 3-9 month - or even a bit over a year time-frame - but a few years, it doesn't seem too likely.
here's my back of the envelope... First bubble to $3-$5k. Correction to $1.5k. Second bubble to $12-$18k Correction to $7k-ish... maybe all of this could occur within the next 18 months, but it does not seem likely that there is going to be enough upcoming mass adoption to sustain any bull market for a "few years"
I guess the people who bought all the way down are new relieved that they didn't lose all of their money... Now they are overly happy and want this to go straight for the moon..
Hell we are not even able to really breach 500$ yet... And people are starting to talk about over bullish mode. If trading would be that easy everybody would become rich. Somebody has to lose money in order for you to get money... While on the way down there were always people buying, I don't see enough people selling this right here. We need a bigger shake out to shake out all these overly bullish guys on leverage positions before we can really attempt to break 500$ with strength.

Second bubble to $12-$18k Correction to $7k-ish... maybe all of this could occur within the next 18 months, but it does not seem likely that there is going to be enough upcoming mass adoption to sustain any bull market for a "few years"
Bitcoin doesn't need "mass adoption" for its value to skyrocket.
right... It just needs a reasonable believes that we could reach "mass adoptions" to make the price skyrock. When we are at "Mass adoptions" the price will start dropping again. Because the price is a representation of future speculations and not of the current value...
You can see this effect on the USD Dollar Value. The rise and therefor the speculation on a rate hike started almost 1.5 years ago. Now the USD looks like topping out and consolidating / falling a bit.
It's going to be really really interesting how Markets are going to react after they really hike the rates after ~9 years.
Really exciting times are ahead of us.

You are goofy in your attempts to analyze me and/or my situation and attempting to extrapolate from me concerning what a typical bull may look like.
Surely, in my strings of posts on this forum, I have provided a considerable amount of information about me, my bitcoin investing history and my evolving views on various bitcoin related investment topics - nonetheless, you still cannot know my situation sufficiently in order to generalize that my situation is reflective of some "type" of BTC investor that needs to be weeded out. you are a fuck-head for suggesting such, and you are a pretentious ass to be using the royal "we" to assert that you are in some group that is somehow distinguishable and better.
There going to be all kinds of people who sell their bitcoins as the price goes up and there will be additional folks and institutions jumping on board too.
Don't worry, you pretentious ass, TReano, there are plenty of bitcoins to go around, as long as you are either on board now, or you are planning to jump on board in the near future in the sub $500s price arena.

on BFX: 13K in ask orders to $500 is now down to 7.5 K. Sell side order book just got chopped in half. Of course with the ability to hide orders, Bitstamp order book is more reliable. on stamp, there are about twice as many asks as bids in the $20 range up and down.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to the orderbook. It's only helpfull when there is real action going on from my experience.

my opinion: Sideways from here on if it doesn't dump further at some point.
Everybody was hyper bullish on Bitcoin and the Chinese Stock exchanges where crashing hard and we still weren't really able to break the 500$ target even after several attempts the buy-power was simply exhausted...
It will be interesting to see what Bitcoin will do once the S&P 500 and all the other indices start dumping. At least they are all at the edge of the next big financial crash which could be much worse then the one in 2008...
But I don't expect much action in Bitcoin in the near future. Chop and sideways best case.

true. It's a total fuck up mess. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we end up at 200$ again...
I guess the reason why we are still so high is that most people from outside have no idea what is really going on. The further the price falls the more people will look into it and start understanding the mess.
If this keeps on going like this Bitcoin is really not that robust and could get thrown back a couple years...

I think part of the market sees it as digital gold and part of it sees it as a tech stock. That should lead to head-scratching and flat.

In Benjamin Grahams book "The Intelligent Investor" there were some musings on if people put their savings in a portfolio of solid household stocks instead of the bank. This way your savings will follow value creation instead of money policy. Eventually I hope Bitcoin will have a similar profile.
Surely Bitcoin can be at some point a real investment strategy if the price gets more stable in the area of Gold. You also want the liquidity which the big markets provide.
I mean if I would have 1 Million $ to invest I would surely not put it in bitcoin. Maybe a small % to profit from it if it takes over the world. Sure it can go up and I could easily double or quadruple at some point. But in the end Bitcoin is a high risk asset and could end at some point and become worthless.

bitcoin is different from gold in that it is way more risky.
sure seeing the fiat system slowly implode, is good for bitcoin, but it's not necessarily the place poeple run to when the stock market crashes. poeple run to gold because it's safe, bitcoin isn't perceived as a safe place.

I wouldn't really want to go long here. Your stop would have to be below 390$. or even lower since it's the last low we printed/break out level.
Either wait for it to really break to the upside and get momentum or buy the pullback at 50% fib with the stop around 360$.
That would be my plan if I wouldn't be in a position right now. We are also entering potential short area if we can't propel higher here.

there isn't such thing as a slow downtrend. Look at 2h-1day charts, we either go vertically green or vertically red. Until we do either, we're going to enjoy this sideways action, calm before the storm.
ofc there can be a shortterm downtrend with lower lows... Why shouldn't there be such thing...
It's actually pretty normal once you peak in a bullish parabolic move.. People will try to catch the bottom every time and it will bounce up but eventually create a lower low where the former bottom picker will close at a minor lose/ reopen a new long...
Just take a look at how the big the last "moon" move worked out. Everybody was fomoing and trying to chase the trend after we peaked at 1200$ but eventually we retraced the complete move over 2 years.
I am not calling any tops here or even a new bear trend. You can't predict the future anyway. If it would be crystal clear that we would go to 1200$ we would already be there and not get resistance below 600$. You also have to keep in mind that the last moon was with much less coins in circulation. Also there was almost no leverage trading or short trading. This will definitely make a giant move like back then less likely. Not Impossible ofc...

Just wondering, how does our current rate of increase compare with that which we saw prior to the last ATH in 2013? Say, average $/day increase in the month preceding ATH?
(EDIT: I didn't phrase that very well. Just wondering what the average daily rise was in the month preceding $1175]
well 2013 was a complete different market. Just open a chart and take a look on the weekly chart. the 2013 pump was twice/three times faster I would say~
Also keep in mind when you compare the current pump with the 2013 attempt:
-We kept printing all time highs when we broke 250$. (we don't do that currently) -> no bag holders
-there was almost no margin trading going on -> today almost everybody is trading with some kind of margin, is it 2x ~ 5x (or even higher on futures.
-there was almost no short trading possible. -> I am sure there are many daytraders ready to pull the short trigger once the situation allows it.
-There where much less coins in circulation.
-Willy bot actively pumped the price. (Who knows if something similar is going on right now as well.)
If you keep all these things in mind, the current pump is even more impressive. But because of all these reasons I don't expect it to reach 1200$ with the current run.

About Bitcoin price:
why all the fun happens during the weekends? I do not have time to show a chart but it is clear that BTC traders love the weekends.
Friday night I left at 698 and I came back at 670$
maybe because one can trade other stuff monday-friday...
That, and maybe because most workers only have time to trade at the weekend. All night trading is only practical at the weekends when traders don't have to get up early for work the next morning. This thread also gets busier and has posts throughout the night at the weekend.
My prediction is $666 at the start of the weekend, and $666 at the end of the weekend with lots of ups and downs in between.
you do not really daytrader bitcoin like you do daytrade forex. Bitcoin is a perfect swing trade asset. You place you limit order with a stop and take profit and let it run. There is no real need watching the price chart all day since it doesn't really move most of the day.

It makes perfect sense. Every noob trader/investor was/is long going into the halving expecting the price to pump. But the Halving pump was the pump to 800$ a month ago. I guess there was a lot of fomo involved they would miss out the halving pump.
This is not a shitcoin anymore where a single person can pump it up 200%. Bitcoin is more or less behaving like a regular trading asset.

I hope we get a crazy-moving course in the rest of 2016. not such downcrawling shit as in 2014 after the mega-pump.
The 2013 pump was a completely different thing.
-We made constantly all-time highs when we broke 250$ back then.
-There was no leverage trading.
-almost no short trading
-less coins overall
-Willy bot
-no Bag holders.
I am not saying this can't happen again, but it's less likely. I expect a lot of sideways after we found new true support. Who knows where it is, I don't have a crystal ball.

Realistically the pre Brexit vote value was around ~1.40. Also I expect this to create a new low around this area and start rallying during the winter. It's not like it could go down like this forever. It was a major move unseen in the Forex market as well.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if we just go sideways for a month or two and then start to rally again with some news. Maybe we will see a downfall of stock markets later this year. That would give Bitcoin some strong fundamentals if we pump during that phase.

Hack = 75mn
Marketcap lost something like 1.5 to 2.5 billions (depending when you look at it).
In other words, the market overreacted so it will inevitably bounce back because a 75mn hack cannot account for the marketcap fall. Short-term market action is kind of irrelevant in the larger scheme of things.
You can't count it like that. That's way to simple.
Trust is the most important thing for a currency. And Trust go completely crushed yesterday. The biggest Western exchange lost the majority of their coins. Why would any new money keep floating into any exchanges now?

OKcoin get fined by The Higher People's Court of Heilongjiang Province, the judge is finished at July 14th,and put online at July 29th.This judge is beyond most people's awareness because the company and and other peer companies didn't want to spread the news until today(20160813) The Securities Times(in Chinese is 证券时报)criticized that blockchain trading should be subject to legal supervision by describing a recent case in a passage without naming the defendant is OKcoin.
As we all know,Chinese authority’s attitude towards bitcoin is restricting the use and prohibiting bitcoin links to the Substantial Economy.Since this judge is the first judge that the major Chinese bitcoin exchange is the defendent,we can get some real concerns of the athority by analyzing the judgments.
○The business on OKcoin is illegal
"Lekuda company’s main business is OKCOIN ,which is a virtual currency exchange. It provides customers with a web space to exchange virtual assets and it profits by charging its clients fees (0.2%-0.4%) . Its dealings in accordance with the the 22nd Case of Network Management of Transactions (in Chinese 《网络交易管理办法》. According to this law,if the company wanted to provide online trading business,it should register at the administration of Industry and Commerce and get a business license.Lekuda company registered business scope only include such areas:technology development, transfer of technology, technical services, technical marketing, consulting and investment management.Trading bitcoin for profit-making purpose is beyond the range permitted by the administrative authorities . "
→ It shows OKcoin runs the business without approval
○OKcoin(it refers to okcoin.cn) is not recorded at the Telecommunications authorities of China "To the end of the trial, Lekuda failed to provide related materials recorded at the Telecommunications Authority registration .The address/domain name record information is not stamped with the seal of the Department, and it could not prove its effectiveness "
→In China, every online service provider should be registered at the Telecommunications authorities. It shows OKcoin lacks the recorded approval documents ,so it cannot provide online service in mainland China
○OKcoin failed to strictly review the real names of every user, which makes it easy for money washing by bitcoin This case is caused by a criminal utilizing the loose review of user's real names in OKcoin .The criminal first cheated a company a large sum of money(12 million RMB,or 1.8 million US dollars),then used ID cards bought online to open up an acounts at OKcoin,at last used the money to buy Bitcoins and withdrawed in Macao.
→Since the Chinese authorities prohibited any third-party payment services linking to bitcoin trading in 2014,the exchanges in China had to use the the accounts of its employee or other companies,a loose review of the real names increase the risk of money laundering, which the Chinese authorities would not like to see. They are afraid of the money flee from China.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4xjtcw/okcoin_fined_by_chinese_court_for_helping/Thank you, this is something to keep an eye on. It could turn very bearish if Chinese authorities would decide to shut down the mainland exchanges.

Not just bearish.... If Okcoin and even Huobi would get shut down with all the BFX shit on top this could throw back Bitcoins trust to the early Gox days.
Could be FUD as well. No source so far.

Right now you see shitload of FUD everywhere, fake news about bitcoin "dying slow death", new fake profiles, and bitfinex trash situation. Don't you just sense fear and uncertainty?
More facts:
- Trading bots love low price, they will buy fuck out of it once the long trends reverses
- First halving price&after

You see, bitcoin never touched that price again.
And right now, bitcoin price is lower than it was pre/post 2nd halving. And this is just because of bitfinex situation.
- Bitcoin is still developing tech.
It's good time to buy if you ask me. If you are not sure, wait 3-4 days.
you clearly have no idea about trading at all.
I mean there is not even a slight correlation with the 2012 halving and the price spike MONTHS after. All you do is interprete something into a price chart you simply wish is true.
Fact is there is no real influence to the price from the halving. No this time and not really last time. Yes it created some volatility.
Also: "Past performance is not an indicator of future results"

On advice of monkey I am short btcusd over the coming month or so.
Looking at recent trends I'm sorry to admit that your monkey friend might be right.
I would say let the summer pass and we shall see at the beginning of September what will happen.
These are regular trading cycles.
When the price pumps to new highs people miss out and try to chase the price and ultimately get in at very high levels and close their positions at lose once we have a clear top.
After the a top, regular traders start going long on the following bear cycle all the way down because they already missed out the up move. The FOMO aftermath.
and then the cycle repeats. once we made a new low. It's always the same. The majority of people will be on the wrong side of a trade most of the time.
I remember 2013 when literally everybody with no trading skills bought into Bitcoin / took long positions after we had the blow out parabolic move.. They called bottoms from 1000$-400$. When we reached 200$ people started to short the shit out the market when we were near the bottom.
History repeats since people refuse to learn from their mistakes. It was just "bad Luck". Just take a look how much liquidity stood on Bitfinex even thought there is a big threat of them getting shut down any day.

Sitting on 580 then, be nice if we could get over 600 early next week. Seems like forever ago we were last above 600.
Do you plan to dump coins at $600? if not, why does it matter?
I don't plan to dump at 600 no. There is a funny concept of people liking their stash to be worth more though believe it or not.
From an investor perspective definitive the right thing.
As a trader you have many options entering a trade. There is no right or wrong in the end.

*Edit: Btw...
look at the Dow Jones... for the last 5 days.
... stuff is about to happen! Probably the
last "Hail Marry!" pump before the big crash.
*Edit2: Basically the calculations and the numbers say that the big crash will be starting
September 21-22 .. and it will go
7 days of trading. Reaching the 8th day on
October 3. I suggest people should stop gambling and get in to physical things like Gold, Silver,
BTCitcoin before/till then.
lol. The Stock markets especially in the USA are super bullish. There is not even a slight sign of an incoming crash.
I know a lot of people would bet all their money here on a financial collapse because they wish so. But people have been calling dooms day for decades and still nothing has happend beside the 2008 money printing and the tech bubble.
Wishing that something happens doesn't make it happen.

So it seems like this is the turning point where the public gets that the SegWit Coin they are all hyped and invested in, has the highest Transaction fees out there paired with the slowest transaction times on top?

Ok serious question u guys
in what way is Btc better than BCash ?
from what i read online
BCash does everything btc does only better
SegWit Coin has far superior censorship going on ...
I mean who on Earth with a straight face can say it's better to have 50$+ TX fees and over 250k unconfirmed transactions ?
Just to wait for Lightning Networks? Which nobody knows if it ever will work and it will create on top centralized Super Hubs which Banks are going to control because it requires a license as money transmitter...

Blaspheme
cmon
i want an answer
much lower fees, more transactions
so how is btc better ?
I think this is a religious forum we are not allowed to ask those questions.
The public is getting it slowly... How can you say that a currency is going to be the future when you can't even use it as a currency anymore...?

And the trolls start their bla bla bla... Gonna have to unignore someone to make room for you. Welcome!
I don't even care... If you think you are safe in your Censorship bubble ... You might want to listen to the price movement in the upcoming weeks and months.
More and more people are getting it that Lightning Networks is the real bubble they believed in...
Maybe the price will speak louder and make people understand what is going on.

There are soo many Projects going on in crypto right now. I really wonder if Bitcoin will still be the main driver in crypto in the future. It's quite possible that a new coin takes over the lead for the next run.

Alright look guys. This whole bcash shill thing needs to stop. It has become an automatic reaction for some of you. Kind of like how SJWs call everyone nazis.
There is a simple test for these things. If you can't say something positive about your opponents, then you are the ideologue. Let's have a group exercise this morning. Say something nice about bcashers.
Get the fuck out of here with that "nice" talk.

*cough* fag *cough*
Bitcoin headed to $1000, tons of altcoins are going to disappear up their own ass and the next set of altcoins (bitcoin included) will depend on what exchange emerge strong.
Since really every person was talking about Bitcoin during the last Bullrun, I think there is too much weight on it in order to have the crazy and relentless growth we saw the last time.
My guess: And established modern Altcoin could overtake Bitcoin easily with the next crypto bull run.

If you haven't seen this before it's worth a watch.
Andreas explains why Big Blocks are not going to work. (watch time: 5-6mins, Petabyte Blocks & Streaming Money)
https://youtu.be/AecPrwqjbGw?t=11m39she is talking about how big block sizes would make bitcoin centralized (because he knows how Computing technologie would develop in the next 10 years ofc.)
Even if so: LN is by design centralized.
So whats that argument even about?

For the current leg, and I repeat myself yet again, why was segwit better than simply doubling the blocksize? Nobody seems willing to explain that bit, for whatever reason.
Answer why doubling the block size is even needed at this point in time. With actual logic and facts to back your argument.
Because using LN requires opening channels on chain. To do this in a decentralized fashion, LN can onboard no more than several hunnert thousand peeps per day.
Several hundred thousand peeps opening/closing LN channels per day seems a bit overkill currently, don't you think?
Currently? Yes.
But I thought LN was supposed to be a scalability solution. And eliminate the benefit of bigger blocks.
hahahahahahahaha

So even if you have some skepticism of segwit, it might be prudent of you to support the actual (rather than hypothetical) direction of bitcoin by storing a portion of your coins on segwit, even if, you decide to follow through and store the vast majority in legacy addresses
All right, I'll bite...
What about storing some value on a segwit address is
prudent?
FUCK off. Your BTrash is a trash coin. A shitcoin. don't leave your shitcoin here. Open your own fucking thread moron.
I did not say anything about BCH. The topic is clearly segwit.
What the fuck are you talking about...
I love how all the Bitcoin-Cash hater use insulting language and have a new account with 4 posts. Pathetic.
Why don't you start your own thread and stay there
you MORON.
Go away. The stink of BTrash is with you.

BTC’s price will be: First column in 2-3 years Second column in 6-7 years
Below $1k = Less than 3% Less than 1.5%
$1k to $3k = 8% to 12% 7% to 9%
$3k to $5k = 10% to 15% 8% to 12%
$5k to $10k = 10% to 15% 8% to 12%
$10k to $19k = 15% to 18% 12% to 15%
$19k to $30k = 15% to 18% 15% to 18%
$30k to $50k = 15% to 18% 15% to 18%
$50k to $100k = 12% to 15% 15% to 18%
$100k to $500k = 5% to 10% 10% to 15%
$500k to $1mill = 2% to 4% 10% to 15%
More than $1mill = Less than 1% Less than 5%
...we cannot rule out extremely bearish or extremely bullish scenarios, even though the probabilities seem to be on a kind of upwardly skewed bell curve.
wow this is amazing. So the price is going to be between 1000$ and 1 Million $. Nice guess....
