I just really hope I manage to get some BTC below $300. So, guys, prepare to go past $320. God knows whenever I want cheap coins, the price goes up

... Wait. That sounds familiar.

Please don't steal my comments. Hey guys, new account because some meanie gave me bad rep because he "disapproves of account farming".

... are you account farming?

If not, you could neg his rep right back until you find a resolution.

Depends on what you mean. Cause I do have a few other accounts that I intend on selling, but none of them are or have ever been in signature campaigns (he made a big deal about that and what a scammer could do with an account ), and none of them have (or will have) trading history. Sorry I'm still not completely familiar with terminology here. Ether way, I really dont think it warrants marking my account with bad reputation.

He said there was a difference between me and some other guy that sold his account(s)... I don't know. I hate being caught up in drama.

On another note, it's good that $280 seems to be holding up.

Sounds like farming to me. Kind of odd that he would neg rep you though. The Powers That Be seems to be ok with that kind of activity, so I don't see why that guy goes vigilante on you. If you really want to make money on crypto though, and you don't have a lot of money to invest, you could just set yourself as a crypto-currency consultant. Chances are that you know more about crypto than your local bank or most in the tech or investment community where you live.

Some people just can't mind their own business and decide to screw people over in order to further their goal (I kind of needed a loan and offered my main account and a pair of jr member accounts). Some people have no tolerance for things they disagree with. And some people are assholes. I don't know what category that default trust member fits in. Whatever, I enjoy being part of this community, and if I can help some noob get an avatar and a cool account name, I will. At a small discount.

The problem is that there is no bitcoin market here, in Guatemala. It's not even in people's radar. Most of my friends didn't hear about it until I told them about it, and almost all of them study to be computer engineers. I think change will always be sudden in some parts of Latin America, when it comes to bitcoin and other technologies. My parents tell me that in the 1980s, there used to be only one house phone in the neighborhood. Imagine telling those same people that investing in a company that will be great at mobile phones is a good idea. "There's this guy that told me it was the future of communication!" there already existed a mobile hand held phone by 1977. I can see that for them (the people I've mentioned bitcoin to), bitcoin is a curiousity, an odd thing that the Internet came up with. "It sounds useful" a friend told me. Oh, but it's so much more. So. Much. More.

PS: anyone know how to make a wallet.dat dump all the private keys that contain bitcoin? I need to sweep them and send them to a bitcoin wallet that doesnt need to download the entire blockchain because I need to buy a computer charger ASAP. Never mind. I'm getting most of my BTC out right now.

Back above $270. Hope you all enjoyed the Saturday morning bitcoin sale! I don't think we'll be seeing the price dip below $270 again for a while (maybe never again).

I blame this prolonged dip into $260 on bitlicense. New York is too important a player to just drop from already established exchanges. Let's see if I'll be able to scoop up some coins at $220. I'll be excited to rip off I mean buy some bitcoin from whoever sells it at that price.

PS: anyone selling their bitcoin under $300 is being ripped off.

Looks like we are setup for a stale few months.  This is actually good news.

Low as possible

Long as possible

I hope he's right. I'm just selling some stuff to get bitcoin. I should be ready to buy bitcoin September. Do you think I will be able to get some under $300 by then? Though, any bitcoin below $370 is a bargain, considering the fact that the halving is about a year and a few months away. 2016 is going to be so much fun.

7. Post 12126954 (copy this link) (by Spider-Carnage) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.23h):

The situation has me bipolar. On one hand, I think I know we'll be seeing a new ATH before the halving. On the other, I see that were still having trouble getting over $300. Hell, right now we're having trouble staying over $270! Then I think about the future and kind of take $2300 as a given, for after Feb 2017. Really, I think it's a long way away from when bitcoin s largely accepted and even properly known across the world. Bitcoin will be like the light bulb, forever reaching into new markets, a part of history. Widely used after the inventor is long gone.

If billyjoeallen says we're going to $230 I'm highly considering selling and making a nice profit.

For me, that means "save up for when it's $230". I'm waiting to see Ms. Fortune, or at least Sir Price.

I think it would be hard to find someone fond of abercrombie's stupid joke he makes every single time the price takes a bump downwards, with no variation or analysis to the words on it.

Me, I'm still waiting to buy double digit bitcoin.

Are we more likely to see $230 or $315 first?

I'd like to think we're never seeing $230 again, except for freak occurrences.

I think the best solution is to make this whole ordeal automatic. Obviously, we're going to need larger blocks in the future, as bitcoin becomes accepted in more and more places. If we do not increase the limit, there will be no more bitcoin. An altcoin with a less stubborn dev team will take up the mantle of the face of cryptocurrency and pick up right where bitcoin left off.
The problem with leaving it up to the community is the same as leaving the halving up to the community, I think. Sorry to say, I dont trust people with that decision, be they node runners or not. There should be a set mathematical model based on community growth rates and estimated physical storage capacity. This is a fundamental issue that satoshi did did not seem to solve, this is about as important as the distribution of bitcoin and the 21 million limit. I also agree with ronald98, downloading and/or indexing the whole thing is a pain in the ass. I've recently had to reindex the blockchain and my computer has taken about 4 days doing so. What determines how long it takes, processing power?

Guys, when is the next federal auction happening? I can't seem to find the date online. I think this is the last time we'll see the price shoot up then go down to under $250 (sometime after this last auction). After this, I have no idea what will happen between December 2015 and the pre-halving pump/dump.

I dont know about you guys, but I am hoping for something below $300 for a while. I am convinced we're not going to hold above it for much longer.

@BinaryReign, good luck with whatever you needed that lawyer for. Hopefully you can score some sweet pre-halving prices sometime after this most recent rally.

Man, I dont think $300 is going to hold for long. Might go back in a while, though god knows where we'll be at when the dust settles a few months from now.

17. Post 12845027 (copy this link) (by Spider-Carnage) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.30h):

Huh, I really thought we were going to retest somewhere below $300. Possibly $280, I think that it goes to show that this rally might still go up next week, if it doenst go up at all or much next week, I'll be glad to have more time to accumulate.  Grin
