Hi guys. Over the past week I've bought into Bitcoin for the first time, over twenty coins, when it was in the $279-$284 range.

I do plan on hodling long term regardless of what the price looks like a week from now, but I still am interested in learning how to interpet the charts and stuff you fellas look at. Do you know of a good youtube that teaches this by chance?

http://bitcointicker.co/#

When I look at all the information on a site like this, how can I interpret the information to be either bullish or bearish for instance. Besides the obvious of the price slowly going  up.

I'd like to be able to understand enough to share in the excitement.

Dude, you seriously bought bitcoin for the first time and your first post on this website is in this thread.
Come on, seriously?
Sigh...

Haha, what thread should I be posting in and why does it matter?

This little upswing is merely a rush up to the castle walls. The real siege of $780 has yet to start.

As I was typing, Stamp got knocked down from the $770s all the way to $762 with walls set to slow down further advance.

Don't expect to see $800 just yet. The battle for $780 will be just as bloody as the siege of $750.

Isn't holding fun?

Yup, been hodling since $289

I'm holding my coins because I don't even know where I would sell them now that IRS is looking at coinbase.

This might be a dumb question, but can the IRS go after people who bought coins from coinbase or can they only target people who sold to coinbase?

In other words I've only bought from coinbase and transferred to my wallet, I haven't sold there, so they can't assume I have something to pay capital gains on yet?

Bitcoin hit $800 the day after Ron Paul got an electoral college vote despite him not even running for President.

COINCIDENCE?? I THINK NOT.

The people who were saying that once we hit 800 the price would skip right on up to 900 were bang on. Who were they (I know I read several people saying that)? Stand up and make more predictions for me.

Weak hands get out. Whales don't be greedy, give thine coins for the current price to those who have none.

Ok. I'm in the UK and I will be off to bed in 2 hours time. Will I wake up to see 4 digits?

Or.....shall I stay up?

The sell off at 973-974 told you to go to sleep and have pleasant dreams.

You have had three years to buy... .... so time to appreciate any pump and hoarding that is occurring (because that is going to cause the price of all coins to go up).. .. in other words, if you failed, refused, forgot or sat on your ass in the coins accumulation process, buy now or cry later.    Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Tongue

I wasn't serious it was just tongue and cheek reverse psychology.

Talk about starting 2017 off right, first day of the year it is going to break 1k. Sorry to all those who bet money on it doing so before the 2016 ended, close but no cigar.

@Lauda Haha I should have known someone had remixed that video for just such an occasion.

Coindesk BPI just hit $1000.00.

Who is leading this 'dump'? It would be nice to see 1000$ hold.

every gesture towards a reversal is failing at the moment.

China too strong.

MRW bears and plebe non-hodlers try to dip BTC down to three digits but fail so hard their efforts are barely noticed:

The FOMO train may soon depart in earnest, all aboard seats are limited but there is plenty of room left in coach class.

FOMO train? Coach class?

You'll find me on the HODL train lounging in the bar car at my private table.

 Cool

I wasn't on board last time it bubbled up to the all time high with that Mt. Gox business, but I was lurking this forum out of curiosity. I remember I was aware of bitcoin when it first broke into the double digits way back when, but it took me awhile to finally get on board even though it always appealed to me as an anti-fiat libertarian. I guess I was intimidated about how to get into it and afraid I would buy in at the wrong time (silly!)

But I'm content because I think I have what can be considered a first class seat this time. I'm stuck on that dopamine loop that has me checking the price constantly.

Did it just jump 9 dollars when I was looking at another tab for about 45 seconds... ATH today. Earlier this week I was thinking it would take until January 31st.

edit: while I was typing this post it jumped up another $10 holy shit.

So is Chinapocalypse 2.0 (or is it 3.0?) finally over now? Is the bull prepped?

Unfortunately I had to sell 1 bitcoin near the bottom of that dip for time sensitive reasons. RIP my little bitcoin, sorry we had to part ways so soon and you could not achieve greater glory by my side. Yes I talk to my bitcoins.
