pretty good rates.

I doubt one can't get 12%/year by trading BTC, even in a bear market

i mean if you are not in and out the last year would have been ugly just straight holding

and you have to be sure to have enough btc collateral on deposit to not get margin called / liquidated

and pray bitfinex does not get gox'd

its not quite risk free or more people would be doing it

i have 30 days locked in at 0.029% that swap fee is for several days now. less than 1% a month not bad IMO

I feel a little bearish actually. Care to elaborate on why you went long at this time? I'm genuinely interested in your take on the market.

I already hold BTC, USD lending rates are slightly under 10% a year

I don't plan on selling (or spending a significant amount of) the BTC at these prices or any price lower than it is

I have enough backing/collateral to prevent a margin call

so why not use some leverage  Huh and try to play the swings in the process

You can check yourself. Do the math. For example: https://bitbet.us/bet/1114/btc-to-rise-vs-usd-in-february/

everyone seems to be missing the small detail of "WEIGHT"

should someone who bet last summer that bitcoin would drop to 100 when it was $600+ have the same odds as someone who waited to add to the bet today when we are in the 200s?

which who would have thought.. has a whole paragraph dedicated to it in the faq  Roll Eyes

BTC   8.97808362   0.1999%   24 Mar 17:56   about 24 hours

easiest  0.54 btc in quite some time

though i still can't figure out why this shorter did not "refinance" at the much lower rates available now (under 0.04...20% of what they have been paying) they kept it for the full 30 day term

The APR is cheaper than my credit cards.

it's like 220% i'd hope your credit cards are lower..

not that i expect them to keep these coins borrowed for the full 30 days but i've been surprised before

I'd be surprised if those got filled as there are plenty more offers that have a zero between the decimal and the number. Even then, these are respectable swap offer as they've been down a third or more recently.

those are filled loans

the absolute cheapest bitcoin to borrow right now is 0.5498%    daily

Can I get a link to that because the swap offers I'm seeing are way lower.

it's right in the bitfinex margin page

but someone put up a good chunk of coins at the ffr rate so thatll bring it down for a bit

a+

loving these 0.598 % DAILY swap loans

i just don't understand why the borrowers do not click three buttons and re borrow at the current ask bids of 0.0654%....but i'll gladly take their bitcoin till the swap expires in 30 days or they wise up to the interest rates

Wow good for you. What exchange did you find that interest rate swap on? And are you let them borrow your USD or BTC?

bitcoin - bitfinex...during the last spike in # of shorts... for some reason they have not re borrowed the much lower cost funds available now

lowest USD rate on bitfinex 54% yearly

at this rate it's tempting to cash out bitcoin and lend the USD
