All the in fighting and trolling is getting a bit too much lately. The way things are currently it looks like we don't all want the same thing which is bitcoin's price to rise right.

I hope to see some kind of consensus soon.
There will never be consensus. There will always be fighting and trolling. You'd better get used to it because this is the future of bitcoin. There will always be some minority like current big blocktards that want to take over bitcoin and ruin or cripple it. Bitcoin's price will rise despite all this!

Rise based on what exactly? a permanent conflict between users, miners and coders? a 100% chance of a network congestion failure before we get to the point we were at 27 months ago? the ability of the PRC to nationalize Chinese mines and execute as many 51% attacks as they want? SegWit TestNet results? What the hell makes you think it's going up and who is supposed to be doing the buying?

Pump it, and they will come.

You can pump anything and get momentum riders, but you have to keep it up indefinitely because as soon as the momentum is lost, they ride it the other way.  Sustainable appreciation has to be based on fundamentals.

15 out of the last 20 days were green candles, but the price has only recovered about 2/3 of what it lost in the five days prior to that. That's an enormous amount of pumping, but everybody knows that some spammer can crash the market again by filling blocks any time he wants.

Are you saying that bitcoin is dead??

i'm saying it's a hobby network and it looks like it will stay a hobby network.  serious adoption would kill it.

U either got skullfucked by nepali baboon or branwashed by stodgy lobbyistic reddit mofos  Grin Grin Grin or u got skullfuced while being brainwashed  Grin Grin Grin

Go sell ur bitcoins turdfuck lol

so much for quiting bitcointalk.org
i just love the controversy too much!

I didn't believe you'd really leave. You can't really trust that other forum anyway. It's run by cypherdoc.

Not even that, but literally everything there is anti-core, anti-blockstream.

Gets annoying/repetitive after a while.

To me, the Frap.doc forum's knee-jerk anti-CoreStream grumbling only becomes more hilarious as time goes on.

It leads them to ridiculous positions like being anti-CLTV, anti-RBF, and anti-SEGWIT.

Now they want to stop segwit from bumping the tps, after spending the last year moaning about how "we neeeed a tps bump RIGHT FUCKING MEOW, or Bitcoin will surely die alone and unloved like an old cat lady."   Cheesy

And then there's the endless process of failed vanity fork bikeshedding, from XT to Unlimited and now to Satoshi's Altcoin.

That deranged ant farm never gets old.  They're always agitated and scurrying around looking for something to bite or sting.   Cheesy

The frequent pouty meltdowns and whiny rage-quits are priceless.  It's very entertaining when they finally realize they have no power over Bitcoin, and can do nothing to change that fact no matter how much noise they make.

The Gavinistas are so self-righteous and determined, yet so ineffective.  That makes for a perfect comedy of errors!   Smiley

They could simply do an honest self-assessment, admit failing because they don't understand how Bitcoin works, and come back.

But that would entail admissions of error on their part and of correctness regarding Core/Blockstream/Theymos, so it won't happen, and we get to enjoy sweet LOLcow products until the last one suffers their inevitable Hearnia.

Stop gluttonising heroine and peyout, u fucking clown  Grin

Sell ur worthless bags of alts pals and gals. We got a new high here, accompanied by a beautiful upside breakout from the triangle, which is happening right now on a more-less consistent volume which is all signs of uptrend recommence, and the target for that next pop is expected to be not less than $950. Everyone holding alts especially BETH (buterium) must be feeling suicidal - tell ur fellows comrades how it feels.

I just heard from a reputable source that Trump is gonna ban BTC.

And China is also going to regulate BTC.

 Cry
Could that "reputable source" actually be a chinese redditor?

I really don't think Trump cares too much about Bitcoin

He's is trying to fight the world's established power, I think Bitcoin is too insignificant for him to care about

But I think some republicans are favorable to BTC, if my rumors are right

Yeah with dangerously finite transactions throughput, bitcoin in its current state might not be something an investment mogul would dream about at nights.

But hey sky is the limit. That said, same as samsung SDI is about to invest billions in backplane transistors tech for OLED and HDR, Trump might drop some into bitcoin sidechain research for example.

Apart from obama he will speak to his pockets in the end of the day. Trump is money not dignity.

I have to admit I'm surprised most of you are still here. Nobody thinks this is the top yet? Really?

Not if segwit gets voted on, right away. Popcorn time

It will but it has the time left in till september 2017 to gather confidence in what the collectivity may wish to view it as. Judging by how the industry and markets love extremes, Id make an assumption that consensus will come within the last days if not hours of the activation window. If not supported by 90 percent of miners within a 14 d timespace sometime between now and early fall 2017, then RIP.

Price has made 4 strong runs up to $751 this week and stalled out. This wall is bigger than the one Trump wants to build  Roll Eyes

Apparently its a Trump's wall. Ya know what this means.

Any updates on the Winterfloss twins and their ETF? What is the totally guaranteed 100% supercereal last deadline date for the ETF decision?

SEC could kick the can down the road a few times with a set amount of days. Those periods are used to get extra input from the public a.k.a. trollposts from our academic interest guy. I think the last (3rd?) extension is coming to an end, which means the SEC is forced to make a decision.

This will be finalized in january after presidential transition. Who is in charge of their decisions? Trump administration. Trump is very supportive of bitcoin, his attitude towards financial segment of economics indicates he will prod fellows from SEC to make the right decision on this front. Even though someone in the department chair thinks winkies plot diabolic plans for their ETF, for me its 100% legit.

wut? Trump has never said a thing about bitcoin and if he could be bothered to think about it what's gonna stand out is China and its anti protectionism.

he'll have a little more on his plate than calling up the sec and haranguing them about something he knows nothing about that no one else has ever heard of.

let's hope he never does pay it any attention.

Peter Thiel is a walking brain technologist that, Trump reckons, will think on his behalf. Trump has many aces up his sleeves including paid sophisticated nerds ready to work in govt funded research labs and do fact finding for him. Its not that big of a deal to hire and have big brains employed to study and analyze beautiful fintech garden 24/7. Regardless, I think Trump is educated enough to gather knowledge about bitcoin and how it can be helpful for his campaign. Trump can push on fucking sec and have it accept etf faster than it takes 50 rabbits to mate in a single kitten bedroom.

Do you have any source that Trump could be pro Bitcoin?

Where did I say that? What the heck? I said his administration. He appoints bitcoiners to his cabinet. There are other shilling multimillionaires in cahoots with him who will be serving his needs. Search on the web for Thiel. As I said there are other people from bitcoinland as well working for Trump.

I will give 5 bitcoin to anyone who gets Roger Ver to return all cryptsy and mtgox users coins.

Was not it Big Vern? Do u insist that Vern is Ver's puppet? It has been broadcasted beyond the doors of a toilet where u sit, that if u stitch too many unrelated facts in a united whole, the chances are that ur yarn will wreck as being pressurized by the outward motive force of the cumulative quantum momentum of the facts bulked together in a tight spacelike container that is the analog of keeping a regurgitated bubble gum in between two invariant entangled dents on the water surface.
