The current average cost of production of bitcoins is in excess of $300. Purchasing a good below cost of production is considered cheap. Make the most, it wont last.
The actual cost is around 90$, for some miners even less.
There are huge upfront costs to be able to mine a BTC for $90.
Maybe if you are mining in mommy's basement with cheap electricity, but even then you are limited by your electric service.

This is the relevant story. Buying has been picking up since a few hours ago...
It takes time to get verified on an exchange and then wire fiat in.

The last two weeks sucked being a bear and expecting the price to drop cause it never really happened. I think the true bears aren't yet convinced of this rally. We will see 250s once again and they will be back saying told you so. But this is definitely gonna be liquidating some of the margin calls.
We are still at 20,200 shorts.
They may be underwater, but there hasn't been anything approaching a squeeze yet

What price do we need to get to before the squeeze starts? 350?

oh well i still dont understand it, i googled it before though i thought someone will explain it in newbie words
Transactions have inputs and outputs. Inputs reference other transactions' outputs and also contain authorization to spend them. This authorization is called "signature script" that contains a few bits of data with signatures matching public keys declared in the outputs.
Generally speaking, these signature scripts are called "witnesses" because they only demonstrate that tx is authorized by actual outputs' owners and do nothing more about it.
The idea is to move witnesses out of transaction hash and include in a separate tree of witnesses committed to the block. This is because mostly full nodes validating the entire blocks need this data, light clients may consume transactions with merkle paths without any witness data.

Seriously though looking at the old charts i have come to the conclusion I have no fucking idea how to tell when something is the true bottom or just a bull trap.

I got a sad story for you.
There used to be this company, Butterfly Labs, they were going to come out with the first ASIC miner and make GPUs obsolete...
I gave them my money for a couple of foot warmers. The day I got them, I had to unplug the Christmas tree lights because a breaker popped when they started up and then the same night one of the PSU's cooked itself while I was at work which woke my wife up with that terrible ozonated burning plastic smell. The next morning I set them up on the kitchen counter where we had a 20A service using an old computer PSU and the paper-clip trick so I could free up the circuit for the Christmas lights. By this time, she was a little upset with my new hobby but she tolerated it because she loves me

I only got one, I was working out of state when it arrived. My lady got it set up, configured and on the pool within 4 hours after it hit the doorstep. We made the USD back finally...the BTC, not so much...
I have a shelf full of Monarchs that I pre-ordered. In an alternate universe where BFL didn't exist I have a 747 with my name on it.
