Why do criminals and drug addicts insist on giving our bitcoin a bad name?

So the big dump was caused by bull shit news, massively over estimating a number of coins scammed by an online drug site?

If that's true the BTC world should be ashamed, reacting to fake news.

Anybody got a link citing the real number of coins stolen by Evolution?

All I keep seeing is the $12mill worth posted everywhere.

Hello, ChuckBuck!
Bitcoin Dark Web Markets, perhaps due to the nature of their business, have been hesitant in releasing full, up-to-date financial data.  Because privacy.
Amateur internet sleuths and forensic accounting aficionados have arrived at BTC40,000; this number eventually upped to BTC130,000 by NSWGreat, an attention whore.
Hope this helps.

There is more than 1 darknet marketplace, people will just do what they did when SR got shut down, move to another.

Bitcoiners are happy to pay x2 - x10 more for drugs, as long as they can do it without leaving their basement.  Repeatedly losing *all* their coin is just an added bonus.
Dealers, OTOH, learn from their mistakes.

Its not that much more expensive it depends where you live. A gram of coke in Australia is north of $400/g so... Plus  its tested, reviewed and most things are much higher quality than the shit you have to go meet dodgy Phil down the back of an alley way for.

Not talking about AU, US<->US.  What's wrong with you Aussies tho?  LE can't be *that* great down your way, why can't you get normal prices?

oh yeah ... good call on error there ... fixed it ... thanks ...

do you have any thoughts on the nature of order and disorder in the universe , whether the singularity at the presumed start of the universe was chaotic in nature or ordered in nature , the nature of or existence of time as compared to entropy as the basis for accurately describing the universe , or what if any influence these ideas would have in regards to overcoming death / greatly extending life , or any insight to offer in regards to the biomechanics required to accomplish such a feat ?...

I stopped thinking in such grand terms ["I got nothing."].  A system attempting to describe/define itself intrinsically is bound to run up against something like Gödel's incompleteness theorems.

In any case, believing technology which could benefit the privileged few will not be developed to preserve the well being of the many is silly. No individual will choose not to have life extension technology, instead they will actively pursue it.

Wonderful idea. Why suffer alone when you can drag as many people as possible down with you? Everyone feels like less of an idiot when you're in it together.

Hence this thread.
Herd animals have a need to belong, even if the in-group is rooted in nothing but commiseration & the herd's hatred towards the outsiders.  Even when the "outsiders" are helpful Anons who try aleve the heard's suffering.

When suffering is the great unifier, its end implies end of the in-group, which, in turn, spells the end of individual's sense of "exclusive belonging"--a far greater pain than merely losing money.

What's the riddle again?  Wolf, cabbage, goat?  Shoot wolf in the face, make goat watch.  Discipline problem solved.

original riddle - you have a wolf , goat , and cabbage (goat will eat the cabbage and wolf will eat the goat , if left alone with the other) and you've got a small boat that can only fit you + 1 item with you inside the boat , and you want to get all 3 things , the wolf , goat , and cabbage , across a river - how do you do it ?

(i like my first answer best ... goat first across , come back for cabbage , cabbage across , bring goat back across , wolf across , then come back for the goat , then goat across for a total of 7 crossings - gives you an intact alive wolf , intact alive goat , and intact cabbage - but if you get creative and have a river free of predators , you can do some slaughtering , skinning / rope making , tow 1 dead animal behind the boat , and consume and barf up the cabbage to ferry all 3 items in 1 crossing ... at some opportunity cost of slaughtering / rope making / not having a live goat for milk or a live wolf for breeding depending on preference / and making the world's most terrible coleslaw ... this assumes of course that you have a knife/adequately sharp rock from the shoreline in the first place , which isn't specified in the riddle ...)

p.s. you're welcome forum for ruining coleslaw for everyone

Wait, so this alleged farmer, he ferries the goat across just to set goat loose on the other side?  The goat's not going to hang out & wait for the farmer, will wonder off unless tied.
(If can be tied, did the farmer consider putting cabbage out of goat's reach?)
Is the wolf also unrestrained?  Farmer can't give him a sweet colorful drink with a paper umbrella & a crushed-up roofie?
What sort of an idiot are we dealing with here?

If the blockchain was Manhattan Island, each bitcoin would be worth 44.8 square feet.

If the Blockchain was Texas, each bitcoin would be the equivalent of 8.2 acres.

Yeah, the quote compares Bitcoin to PayPal.  I agree with you though, ridiculous comparison--most Bitcoiners are criminals & deadbeats whose PayPal accounts are frozen & B& due to their failed attempts at fraud & other financial crimes.  Not really the sort of customers banks would miss.

Who cares about miners? They have no vote and nothing to say.
Relevant are only the 3 till 5 admins/owners of the biggest mining pools. They decide.

no they don't

the moment they "decide" something stupid everyone leaves the pool

this is why i find it silly to say big mining pools are a threat to bitcoins decentralization

pools have to act how there users what them to act or they won't use that pool, the users have all the power.

The "every miner's vote counts" would be a bit more meaningful if hashpower was dispersed amongst small, private miners (cue Archie Bunker Those Were The Days).  It's not--the majority is divvied up among a few megamine operators.

Guys.
Your rocket's clearly not going to the moon. Here's what you do:

1.  Stop.
2.  Try to turn rocket around.
3.  Remember it didn't need to be like this.
4.  Break down and cry.
5.  GOTO 3

The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that at some point the just *might* be an altcoin that actually proves to be more successful than Bitcoin and thus manages to gain more traction. It's just this tiny feeling that 'there just might be one at some point'...

Like a coin capable of more than 2.7 transactions per second?  Are you mad?

Sorry, I had to make one more comment on Leo

LeoCoin is a joke. I have to say I only spend a short time on reading about it, but everything smell about LeoCoin...

The 2 promoters, are former scammers in a pyramid-scheme... The website does not explain much about the improvements, its still not clear to me... and they reward people using the coin in an pyramid-like-scheme... Maybe they use an anonymity function that is 100%?? but still the coin smell of fraud! Sorry to say...

Always knocking things you don't understand.  Always hating on progress, disruptive technologies and paradigm-shifting solutions.

And now accusations of pyramid scheming?!  Again?!  How many times does this need to be debunked?
You're THIS CLOSE to being put on ignore.

Fuck all NLC alts and his creepy CP obsession.
...

I think what you're going through right now is a classic case of transference, "unconscious redirection of feelings from one person [or thing] to another."--wikip

You are angry at Bitcoin (who isn't amirite?), and this frightens you.  Acknowledging these feeling would force the acknowledgement of something much bigger, darker...  A thing at the very crux of your being, the simpering tapeworm that slithers from the septic depths of your soul to the foul surface of...

Not really sure where I was going with that.  Anyhow, it's Bitcoin you're pissed at, not me, bro.
I'm a certified psychoanoliistist, so I know what I'm talking about.

No charge this time, but you must learn to stop relying on charity.
You're welcome.

You mean that STATE OF THE ART Proof of Stake cryptocurrency?  The one utilizing cutting edge technology, such as instant p2p encrypted messaging?

Would love to learn all about it tho.

Perhaps we could have that list in a sticky post at the top of the speculation forum.

Alternatively, I would be happy to pay the hosting costs and register a domain if someone did the leg work setting up the forum software for an alternate site.

Have you asked LFC_Bitcoin?

At what price are you planning to start begging me for forgiveness?  Another $10 down?  Another $50?
What's it gonna take, Fatman3001, hmm?
