Damn, how many times I got to tell you guys?

The only reason price is still down at this level is because wall street is manipulating the market in one last ditch effort to buy cheap coins. Once they've had enough, they will allow natural organic growth to $1,000 and probably much higher.

Yes.  This.

The same people that want to keep the price low will eventually want to pump it up.  I am just surprised how patient they are and how long they have kept the price low.   Undecided

They know that the longer they keep the price low, the more "weak hands" they can shake and get the price even lower. I'm optimistic, but in the short term I suspect we'll go lower still. Really, it's in the hands of our Wall Street overlords.  Grin

When they want it to go up again, it will be epic.

stop with "manipulators" conspiracy, not every single trade that effect the price is manipulation, we are 200$ (from 650) in 2 months and you are still talking about bubbles and manipulators!!!  the truth is that the price might fall down further, I am surprised it held this long.

My friend, every time people start to give up on a bubble, that means another is coming soon Cheesy We only had to shake the weak hands first. Is this manipulation? Not completely. Some is, and some is just some people falling victim to the bear FUD in here and reddit. Some people honestly want out. But given the infrastructure and the fundamentals haven't changed, we should be well over $2,000 USD a coin now.

Just remember that, if the fundamentals haven't changed, then we are still good.

Gandhi was too busy having sex with his grandnieces and spouting racial hatred about Africans to say anything smart like that. I think it's falsely attributed to him.

Your cheap coins are now expensive.
And no one is buying be ause they know they will get dumped on 10 minutes later.

According to the long term trendline, $450 is our historical support. If there ever was a time to buy, this is it! Price will rise soon, just like last year in September. This is what's called a "bear trap".

If selling would destroy Bitcoin, I am in the wrong game. Just be patient. Many years if necessary.

I have been waiting patiently since when I bought last year at $1100. Everyone told me that we were going up to $1,500 at least, so I went all in and now I'm being told I have to wait YEARS??? Looking at Bitcoin's past, it would have been worthwhile to think twice about stepping into a punishing market like Bitcoin. Obvious pump will come down, and slowly. It would have been better to get in at a later time, as was the case with the 2 previous pumps. But that is hindsight.

Your biggest problem is 'everyone'. Stop-Listening-To 'everyone'. Make up your own mind. If this thing is a dud to you, get out and lick your wounds. If you have faith in this thing or can imagine a bigger pump, hold on for a little longer and perhaps dollar average in some further.

But.do this yourself, and not because of 'everyone'.

I is still a way better chance than the lottery.

Can you really not see it's a dumb ass troll?

Just put the idiot on ignore and stop quoting him please.

You're the troll, coming here every.single.day to whine and complain about the "dumpers" and other bull crap. Maybe you should take your own advice and put yourself on ignore.

Who are buying bitcoins now? Or do you wait for the price to even be lower or do you sell out everything? I've seen people saying that they fear the fall and end of BTC but many people just claim things they aren't so sure about. I mean that there are companies that does accept bitcoin and I am sure many more will, in the future. They aren't spending money, fiat, on something they don't belive in right. But what do they know that we dont know lol.

For months all the idiots here were praying for cheap coins. Every crash was amazing news. Best thing ever.
They expected that as soon as they bought a few "cheap coins" the price would move to 1k again.

Now they found out those days are over and the price isn't going anywhere but down.
People are getting out. There are no big players waiting to get in. There is no Wallstreet. There is no secret accumulation. It all turned out complete bs.

Bitcoin is dying. The party is over. The only thing it's good for are daily pump and dumps.

Nobody in real life is interested in Bitcoin. Apple pay did in a short time what Bitcoin couldn't achieve in years.
Unless you want to send money overseas and often there is no reason to use Bitcoin.
Average Joe doesn't give a shit about fees or decentralization and all the other Bitcoin selling points.

Some of you guys will never learn. When the price rises 10% over a couple days, you need to ask yourselves, "has anything happened to justify this increase?" If the answer is no, then it's a pump and dump. Every previous rally was triggered by some type of event or sentiment. Chinese exchanges opening, the US government softening its position, or major retail adoption. But none of those matter anymore.

What's happening now that could possibility rally people to buy bitcoin? Increased competition from Apple Pay? More regulations incoming? So... basically nothing.

From what I recall she was out on a help/charity mission there. As for the idea you're talking about; I find it splendid. Actually, what's missing is the way to explain to average people, how they'll be able to use bitcoin in those countries. If you (or anyone) have any good ideas that you could use to explain to them what bitcoin is and how they would set up a wallet, that would be awesome. Please avoid word like "random matrix" or "cryptography" they will turn around and run... Cheesy

If they don't have a computer at home, they can use the Internet cafe to set up their wallet with blockchain. Just let them know that they need 2FA, and they should use an email account separate from their regular account. And use a password that's complex, with number, symbols, and letters, that isn't in the dictionary. They can use their dumb phone for the 2FA.

Also, they should run an antivirus scan on the Internet cafe computer with at least three or four different vendors to ensure it's safe before each usage. There could be a keylogger or a browser session hijacker. Also don't allow .dat file backups to the e-mail address, just in case. As long as they follow this, they'll be good to go. It's really not that difficult, and much easier than using a bank or storing your savings in a coffee can.

Keep accumulating.

This old chestnut again?

I'll say the same as I did 6 months ago or a month ago.

We'll probably reach our old ATH by mid summer, and hit anywhere from $7000 to $12,000 before crashing down to $2000-$2500, possibly before year's end.

We should be above $10,000 for good by this time next year.

Unless something comes along to break Bitcoin before then.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Where'd you dig that up from? Spend hours dredging through my post history? Get a life, noob.

Hahahahaha

I don't usually make predictions and you can see why.

Obviously thoughts of an ATH by mid-summer were a little premature, despite being the majority opinion here at the time.

Did you notice I used the words "probably" and "possibly"? Just in case English isn't your first language, the words mean that I wasn't saying we would reach the suggested prices, but rather that I was speculating that we may have been on the way to reaching them.

While most of us may have been a little ahead of ourselves at that time, don't completely discount the possibility of reaching 5 digits some time next year, possibly even by next May.

I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume you're just a bumbling noob and not another ridiculous troll.

And where do they store the private key on the PC or smart phone that they don't own?

Oh, but they can print a paper wallet. Good luck telling a poor person with little to no education that he or she can give their money to a machine somewhere, pay a fee, and get a piece of paper in return, after presenting their photo ID (which they probably don't have) and other personal info. It would take a special kind of stupid to look at bitcoin right now and say, "This is a good time to buy." Price is still falling, floor is not in, and there are no prospects going forward. The ETF is a false hope, nobody out there cares that there's a new way to buy a failing asset. I used to defend bitcoin, but now I'm shocked that we're still at $330. I think we will be <$100 soon.

Do you think that people, after eating and much drinking (will be drunk many people) price will raise? Hope to see many drunk people that invested their money in bitcoin in way to raise price, imagine scenario, that would be very funny  Grin

You would need to be drunk to invest in bitcoin at this point, after all the thrashing it's taken in the past year. Interest from the public is lukewarm, and it's failing to present any user case scenarios for success in 2015 either.

What are you talking about. I assume that you lost a decent amount of Bitcoins on Mt.Gox or so, so that you are now warning before the "evil" Bitcoin and his potential risks...

I didn't have any coins on MtGox. Fortunately I could see that they were the worst in a sorry lot of unregulated exchanges, and I steered clear. But it's a valid point nonetheless; bitcoin is inherently risky to hold compared with fiat or precious metals. You hold the risk of hardware failure, theft/hacks, natural disaster, and there's plenty of third party risk just by keeping your coins on an exchange. I've never been the victim of theft, but that's because I was careful to the point of paranoia. Who the hell -- aside from some bitcoin nutters -- wants to live like that?

And that's precisely why interest from the public is lukewarm. It's hardly got anything to offer anyone outside this forum community of hobbyists and cultists.

So many high profile attacks these past few weeks involving Sony, and outages with Xbox Live, etc.

People hear bitcoin and "digital" currency. Having a website go down for a few hours is one thing... but nobody is going to be crazy enough to entrust the protocol to their savings. And the fact that value has been dropping all year doesn't help.

It's really incredible that we're still over $300 at this point. It's not going to last for long.

Why a guy called risssing acts like fallling?

And the fact that we had so many attacks but the protocol remains untouched(no transactions being reverted, private keys bruteforced easily, etc) should counts in favor of Bitcoin

Whether a private key can ever be brute forced or not, is a moot point. There are a dozen other avenues which are more effective at separating users from their wallets. I have seen security consultants by trade report on bitcoin that their private keys were hijacked from their PCs or other means, so just imagine how the average person on the street would feel about bitcoin?

Network security is a mysterious, scary thing for most people (and if it doesn't concern you, then you're just being naive). The world isn't ready to entrust their fortunes to a peerless digital protocol. And you've got to wonder if they ever will be.

Why this like a football game for people like you? "The bulls vs the bears".

I just trying to provide quality analysis of the current situation, and given lukewarm public interest, along with high profile cyber attacks... I think there is a lot of unease about security related issues with the general public and net denizens, some of which will surely spill over to the sentiment around bitcoin, which is a completely digital protocol for people's ***MONEY*** and works somewhere in the cloud, in some mysterious way (general people have no idea how it works, and simply need to have faith their money is safe since it's not backed by any government or institution).

Think about all of that, and the weak bid side orders, it seems very likely that we'll break $300 soon. By end of the week is still very possible, IMO.

Yes and if we were to experience a 2013 rate of growth again, we'd be put at $35k/BTC at the end of november. Funny this market, ain't it?

Mt Gox, the biggest exchange in the history of bitcoin, closed and stole acount holder funds, and now it appears that Stamp -- less than one year later -- is experiencing some significant problems of its own.

Merchant adoption means very little any more. Companies adopt bitcoin and the price barely moves.

It would take nothing short of a sovereign country adopting bitcoin as its national currency to cause a spike in price again. Face it, the 2010-2013 bull market is over and the bubble is now deflating. There's very little to get excited about anymore in the world of bitcoin. Expect the price to continue falling.

Most contributors to this forum would at a guess would have the bulk of their investments in real markets and companies as you say with a smaller but high risk punt on Bitcoin and possibly other unusual opportunities.

curious to know would you still promote low cost index funds and stay away from pump and dump schemes like bitcoin if bitcoin was at a new ath or even as of the last ath.

just curious to know

My opinion would change if there was a valid use case scenario developed for bitcoin, other than drugs or online gambling. Since none are emerging, any market movements we see from this point out are just moments of irrational exuberance by bit-tards and small pauses on the way down to zero. So no, there will be no further ATH. We're essentially a large pump and dump scheme at this point, so avoid any false hopes.

If you must invest any, I wouldn't put any more in than I'd spend at the casino in one night, because odds are you will lose all or most of it. The way things are moving now, you'd be lucky if there is still a legitimate exchange around next year that will cash out your bitcoin for you. Until 2013 , there was at least positive momentum behind bitcoin so you could kind of make a case for investment. Merchant adoption was just beginning, etc. But now it's clear that consumers aren't interested, and recent hacks and the 80% drop in value shows what a terrible store of value it is.

So essentially, it's useless unless some miracle application arises (and there are no signs at all that this will happen so investing now is no better than a degenerate form of gambling).

Nobody minds the battle between bears & bulls, they both have genuine reasons for cheering different scenarios to make money, that's fine.

There are so many trolls though, it's really quite pathetic & I feel embarrassed for them.

Trolls are people who refuse to make choices in their own pathetic lives and thus feel the need to judge the choices of others. Ignore them and they don't exist.

Trolls are people who refused to dump their money into a get rich quick scheme and tried to warn you all for months, but were mocked and ignored. Everyone makes a choice, but clowns like you made the wrong choice. And now you're just pissed off and looking for someone to blame.

Hopefully in the future you'll make the correct choice of investing in stocks and bonds in order to accumulate slow steady wealth, instead of magic beans.

@Adam, you can go ahead and just delete this thread now.  Failed experiment taken completely over by stupid sockpuppet troll accounts.  No good information here anymore.

"No good information anymore" That would seem to imply that information during 2014 was... good?

For the first time, information is great! No longer do we have all the bulltards drawing lines on graphs and trying to convince everyone that we'll be back up to $1,000 soon. No longer do we have shills like reptilia tell us about the exponential trend line, or mental midgets posting photos of rocket ships and trains every day. "To the moon!"  Cheesy Cheesy

Bitcoin is finally being exposed as a pump and dump, and people are beginning to realize that it's in the final stages before falling into obscurity. Accept that fact, and save yourself from further butt hurt.

Feels good blocking all the trolls.

They tried to warn you by spelling it out word for word and letter by letter why the bitcoin bubble of 2010-2013 has burst... must be a bitter pill to swallow for the bulls to acknowledge -- to themselves -- that they've been wrong.

The most secure currency ever, that even the largest and most powerful exchange can't seem to keep protected. If any of you still think mainstream, "regular" people would ever want to put their money into bitcoin, you must seriously have brain damage.

still with the beartrolls spewing their vitriol and wallowing in the effluent of their toxic hatefest ...

nice place you got here adam ... time to lock it up maybe? this thread is stinking up the joint.

Another butt hurt bitcoin "investor" who should have listened to the wise advise provided for free from the likes of falllling and other posters. Didn't listen, and now you call them all "trolls". Tough break. At least this is a valuable lesson to some of you to not listen to various crazy people on message boards and avoid magic bean "get rich quick" investments.

$165 in Stamp... seriously... if you're still holding bitcoins, you really need to get out soon unless you don't care about losing it all. At some point, the exchanges will probably halt trading and you'll find yourself in a position where you essentially can no longer withdrawal your coins for cash anymore.

As far back as bitcoinwisdom charts go. Maybe it was lower around its inception, but still... very, very bad right now.

This forum needs a button called "Mark as Troll", if enough people mark somebody as a Troll, all their messages can go straight to the "moon" folder where nobody has to read them.

The ignore button (a couple of years ago) used to glow from light yellow to darker orange depending on the amount of ignores, so if you saw someone with a glowing Ignore button you knew he was ignored by so many users(doesnt mean he is a troll though), you know someone like you would have a red glowing button.... but thanks to Theymos and his free speech hardcore support (which I do support as well) this doesn't work anymore.
Indeed. How about someone suggests this for the new forum. Should be easy to implement.

I've been looking, well carefully following the thread (since my last post here). The amount of trolls is amazing.
Whatever happens (price goes down, or even when it goes up like today) they keep spreading FUD or mocking us and/or Bitcoin.'Free speech' is important, but there has to be a limit somewhere.

I thought bitcoin was about freedom... but you can't even tolerate some criticism of your Internet funbux? I guess some the trolls have hit a nerve, huh?

D00d, are you new?   BTCeanies are being bought (off-exchange) for DOUBLE those prices.  That's how Big Money/Wall St. is cornering the market.  Buy now or cry later.

All the smart money is buying BTCeanies. According to my market research, hunka hunka bearnin' love BTCeanie has increased in value from $4 to $6 in the past year. That's a 50% increase and makes it one of the best performing assets of 2014!

The fundamentals™ of BTCeanies are still strong, my friend. BTCeanies are still stuffed with plastic pellets, and each one is produced in limited quantities by Ty Warner Inc. What we see now is all the weak hands being shaken out. So this is the best time to buy.

Let's see. I bought 50 bitcoin last night from silverfuture. He was kind enough to sell me cassius(sp?) physicals for bitcoin. It's not everything I have but I'll make you a bet. One bitcoin says that my 50BTC worth of physicals will be worth more than your entire portfolio within one year. I'm willing to escrow, but I want proof of your holdings and am willing to provide the same. The future looks bright and the 5 year charts for bitcoin seem stellar Cheesy
Silverfuture made a lot of money just by cpu mining and holding for a long time. I can't say how much but let's just say I'm envious.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NZKLZmz4kA

Sorry, but I don't make random bets with people online, which is probably one of the reasons that I have accumulated a large amount of wealth over the past several years and you bitcoiners are mostly underwater with your digital funbux.

Not that I believe your 50 bitcoins will be worth jack shit in a year, but why bother? I make good investments, and bitcoiners make bad ones. All I need to do is keep doing what I've been doing and I make money. That's much simpler than dealing with some online escrow service.

While we're on the subject of visionaries and their mental illnesses visions, how's your mentor Reptilia doing?  Haven't heard much from him lately, still holding your hand through the tough times is he?

Speaking of Reptilian, I wonder where his long term value chart is at now? For some reason, he stopped updating it months ago...  Huh

I can leave this forum for weeks, come back, and it's the same exact people hyping each other up about bitcoin. You'd think if it was such an awesome and useful technology, there would be more people here? Instead, they just watch from the sidelines and laugh at all the maroons here as they lose more and more money on their digital fun bucks.
