I wonder why do a lot of people vote for the worst in the voting above. It seems we have a lot of pessimistic people on the bitcoin forum here. Its just promotes the price to go down further.

On the bright side, more an equivalent amount of people vote for >450 Smiley

in my noob opinion, all this whale surely be big miner selling cheap coin because their miner already roi and they can sell at any price above electricity and still profit.  why they sell cheap, so that new miner are discouraged and keep them in power literally. this is a race to the fair price, which is their price for bitcoin. as new miner are discouraged they assume that difficulty will soon be lower further increase their profit.

true, and by the end of the year new or small years might also face the increasing difficulty problem, which might further decrease the number of small miners in the mining competition.

Mate, you're delusional.  This is all obvious stuff that's known to every 13yr-old, and the local lunatic fringe chooses to ignore 'coz it don't jive with their "I's techno vizhunary & guna b rich!" fantasies.

@inca:  I posted data regarding the way things are now.  Get back to me in 5 years, then we'll talk.

bitcoin is a developing technology .. don't let that thought hurt your brain as you think about it. meditate on it and you might grow some new grey matter .

Yeah btc isn't get rich quick, it takes patience and cunning.

Even when bitcoin jumped up to like $1200/btc, it still took it like 3-5 years to do that. That's a long time to wait.

But that wasn't just a simple increased . The price went from less than a cent, in the beginning to 1200$. Pretty big leap, even for 50 years.

At this rate, just 3.5 more days until $0.
Maybe sooner. The lower it goes, the more panicky the situation becomes.

The US Marshall auction , sometime in the next 2-3 months would affect the price even more, if any of the buyers decide to sell.

Major bitcoin news coming very soon. Hope you're long

He better tweet this quickly if he wants to claim credit for the next leg up in the market.

He needs to tweet the big news sooner.

go reddit for "price doesn't matter", read that hundred of times there during the crash

they even say that at the last miami bitcoin conference (article on coindesk) Smiley
I guess its to only avoid people from panicking and dumping their coins.
I am sure everyone feels scared if the price goes down.

So basically, Bitcoin now requires a "big news" story every day to stay at $200?

God no! No big news please!  Smiley everytime there were big news, the price dropped even lower...But true is, i think this is kind of different big news and i am FINALLY starting to smell the wall street...

Lot of exciting news today. Doesn't seem to be affecting the price either way.

Coinbase on CNBC, apparently they have 2 million customers.

MtGOX had more than 1 million customers, but the leaked database showed that only ~70'000 were minimally active.

We don't expect Coinbase to provide more meaningful data than any other bitcoin enterprise, do we?

I don't think an exchange would ever provide such info.

Nice buying opportunity, can we touch $200?
Not if the 2nd Feb comes before. Should see some action close to that .

Seems that Bitstamp is dying slowly.

Sure it is.

Who would risk his coins to keep them over there? We don't need another Gox.

i think if they wanted to gox, they would have done it then and there itself.
has the multisig part on it been enabled  ?

china is a seller market, get used to it.

There going to be dumping there own coins then cause there isn't a whole lot to borrow

china is number 1 world producer of coins - I see no problem.

May as well get used to sharing with our eastern cousins.

It is not like we have a choice in the matter.

Buy when the east dumps, and sell when the east sleeps Wink

Greek deal is reached (apparently - though we have had many false starts). Bitcoin is flat... interesting.

I wish that happens. Would be the best thing to happen to bitcoin.

No comment here about Kim Dotcom's tweet?

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2xbowj/kim_dotcom_on_twitter_lets_give_bitcoin_a_boost/

It is claimed that PayPal just closed Mega's account, because of pressure from VISA and MasterCard, allegedly because of pressure by US Senator Leahy, allegedly on behalf of the MPAA.

Not long before #Mega ditches Bitcoin as well for some DRK/XMR coin. Wait for it when BTC goes more "government friendly"...

Maybe it might launch Megacoin. But I doubt they would shift from bitcoin.
