My guess is that Draper wins most of the blocks with bids of $450 to $499. The guy has a no-fucks-given attitude and he wants those coins. If you believed that Bitcoin would reach 10k in a few years why not bid high enough to make sure you win them?

Believe it or not today a friend called me up. His wife works in private equity for one of the top 3 financial entities worldwide. My friend told me his wife had received "Bitcoin Training" and that they were all to take Bitcoin very seriously. The most interesting piece of info was that they expected bitcoins to reach a value of over $10,000 dollars by 2016. They also said that $10k could be on the lower end.

1w chart on stamp looks eerily similar to May 2012. If we follow a similar pattern we will be looking at a 12-24 months of big price increases well above $10k and even as high as $100k.

The only thing better than an Ignore Feature, might be a stat that showed the number of people ignoring a particular user. And then maybe the ability to auto-ignore users who have been ignored by a specified number of members. That would shut down these trolls and shills REAL fast.
Feature request???
I like this idea.

The poor "unbanked" of the third world don't have spare money, and that's why they live in shanty towns and mud huts. If there ever is a time that they have any, they want to hold it and keep it safe, not convert it to some public key somewhere in the cloud. And where do they store the private key on the PC or smart phone that they
don't own?
Oh, but they can print a paper wallet. Good luck telling a poor person with little to no education that he or she can give their money to a machine somewhere, pay a fee, and get a piece of paper in return, after presenting their photo ID (which they probably don't have) and other personal info. They'd probably just look at you with a blank look on their face, walk away, and tell their friends later about the crazy white guy who tried to swindle their money away.
But never fear, Microsoft has accepted dollars for bitcoins with bitpay! Bitcoin is saved!

Rome wasn't built in a day.

I guess I'm the only one that sees the pattern for the timing of this bear trap. It's just too perfect.
What do you mean? Traders selling at the end of Wave 5 - epic bear trap as move up from the bottom?

Definitely headed under 225, maybe 200 is the bottom?

Hope so. I get paid in a few days and i'm bored of this bear market.

Does this image have significance of a falling wedge which would be indicative of a possible trend reversal?
It was posted in the trading sim thread. Not mine. I just found it illuminating. I figure we could just continue longer at this stage but it still doesn't change the fact that a reversal seems to be suggested? Albeit possibly short lived due to the proliferation of shorts. Just wondering. Also wondering where those dark profits will go, i.e., back into BTC or LTC.
It's kind of a stretch. A triangle or whatever continuation pattern you'd choose to use would fit well in the area with the numbered waves, but not encompassing a buying climax on high volume. IMO if you're going to draw triangles and use them in analysis, they cannot be arbitrary. The must connect with multiple high volume areas and the price action should never "jump out of bounds" very much in order to be a valid pattern. Also the connection points should not be super far apart unless you're on a 3d or weekly chart. They are tools for you to understand and identify trading ranges and lower volume consolidation periods, not lines that simply tell you where to trade.
What many traders are missing now is the significance of the selling climax to $160, and the subsequent retest of that area. It is an enormous sign of strength for that many coins to have been transferred from weak hands to strong. I keep hearing "the downtrend is still intact!" Well, technically it is, but you'd better have a close look at that super high volume area that stopped the selling, or you're ignoring a big message the market is trying to tell you.
Beautifully put. Agree 100%

Because the best anonymity features are in XMR.

http://armstrongeconomics.com/archives/33539Silver is headed below $12 and gold below $1050.
Most likely bottoming below $9 and $850. The lowest possible for gold in the $600s.
We have a bounce here in BTC and PMs, then headed for lower lows, which means < $150 for BTC and probably double-digits

It will be a blood bath.

You've been warned. And I have not been wrong since I started following Armstrong some years ago.
TBH i'm Ok with that. Let's bring on the double digit prices.

The 2h graphic and the 1w graphic are almost identically fractal.
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusdIf the fractal repeats itself, as fractals use to do, we would go to 10-20k region easily.
In the meantime, just breath (and burn ALL the bears)
Can you post a screenshot of this? I'm having a hard time seeing (tho not disagreeing) with 20k.

seems like the global market is shifting from a 6 year constant bull market everywhere.
On top Greece is creating a big threat to the Euro as a hole.
Let's see.... If the global system shatters with the next crash... Jesus I don't even want to think about it.
Sadly I think Bitcoin will not work in a world with a big global crisis. Other things will be more important like food, Fuel and so on.
But during the crash it might be the best time to buy bitcoin if it dumps as well. People will look for alternatives once the system stabilizes.
lets see how it goes... I mean Greece is starting to get to an anarchy.. if banks stop withdraws completely in the next 2 days people will not even be able to buy food in urban regions.
Hodlers are going to be severely tested if your hypothesis ends up being correct.

I'd like to hear some opinions on these thoughts. Any takers?
I can follow you. Nice analysis.

I kind of predicted this recent rally from 220 to 300+, but I did not expect it to go this far which is really amazing. I'm bullish at the moment.
DO you agree we are done with the bear trend?

Everyone yells doom for the past so many years, and it just doesn't happen.
I am convinced the dollar collapse, market crash, and all the other doom bullshit is not gonna happen anytime in the near future.
They are gonna milk this bubble as long as they can.
The crashes happen on or very near election years. See: 1987, 2000, 2008, 2016 (probably)

So in 10 years from now, you expect BTC to reach only $10,000, Peter ?
I actually think it will be significantly higher but I'm embarrassed to write what I really think.
However, like everyone else, I don't have any special insight that makes my guess more right than the next guy's. I could be totally wrong and most certainly am at least partially wrong. I think good advice is to imagine losing all the money you have in bitcoin: if that would cause you some pain, well, that's OK; if that would cause you to lose your home, wife or business, then you're probably investing too much.
You might be embarrassed but i'm not. 10 years from would be 2025 (two halving from now). I expect the price to be between 300,000 - 1.2M USD
