no more bubbles. but stable and constant growth.... and I wish that will happen, so most of the greedy bastards here will learn a lesson.
A stable and constant growth is only possible in short to mid term times spaces. The fundamentals of the bitcoin economy can not handle this kind of growth. A strong bear market, going down to low 300's - possible. A stronger bear market , going down to 100's - possible. A stable and constant growth over several years - no.

last warning, buy now, you have been warned, don't be a fiat bagholder, we will go up in the next 24 hours, if not I'll make a new post indicating it's 48 hours, after 2 weeks I'll perhaps come say 800$ any moment now or 12 hours. I'll see, anyhow I told you so.
None of us have a crystal ball - one thing is certain - this is the biggest movement ever seen on the internet - whether bitcoin hits 150K per coin or 1k or 300USD - it represents a libertarian value of free will and I for one - fucking love free will.
I will open as many BTC businesses and help educate as many people as I possibly can using logic and passion - the honest skeptics will ask questions and try to understand - while the emotionally damaged skeptics will refuse to hear anything I have to say, and they are allowed to do that as well. But you fail to miss a point - when someone looks at me and says WELL WHAT IS BACKING BITCOIN... GOVERNMENTS ? I blink and slowly sip my coffee... and say... I'm sorry did you ask me what backs Bitcoin? Freedom asshole.... Freedom...

Why so upset?
I studied economics (Volkswirtschaft). Well, I could tell you that I'm Julio Iglesias, too. But however. A stable and constant growth is not possible - just my point of view. No reason to freak out ;-)
In the off chance that you are economic studying Julio Iglesias - your knowledge has indoctrinated you in a world you cannot move past - I know a lot of 'educated' people who fail to see a HUGE paradigm shift.
But I also saw that when I tried to explain to an elderly man that the post office would take a back seat to email and he told me I was speaking 'rubbish'
You can't stop technology - and good luck trying to block the truth - Bitcoin is our only chance to have TRUTH in an otherwise nebulous money society.

I'm not saying that bitcoin will fail or is forced to fall back to the 100's. But it could. Being aware of the risks of a very, very young market let me see downward movements with composure. I doubt that bitcoin could growth in a harmonic way, since it's not the way in which young markets are growing.
Being an ecomist does not qualify me to make valid judgements about the bitcoin future. In some cases even high qualified economists fail to make valid conclusions regarding very young and volatile markets:

Well, I sold because i'm overinvested and I was gonna buy back cheaper
No luck today tho

Should I buy back or wait a little bit to see if it comes down again?
Honestly bro... I don't get involved in the micro profits... I move with the whales... If you see a big dump.. then try to sell at the top before it collapses i.e. it was at 590-600 and held there for a long long time.. if you see a trend.. it's not smart to sell near the bottom or 3/4 of the way through the dump... now is the time to buy... not sell.. but its all an educated guess at the end of the day... Bitcoin does what it wants lol.

I will say in analyzing these charts - most of the time.. it is always darkest before day break... usually see everyone running around screaming about the end of the world.. then the same whales buy every single BTC and more back up... telling their friends about the low prices and whats that? everyone jumps on the pump train and we are 10x higher than where we started *sips coffee*

That's why he's playing with $30k and you're probably playing with <$5k. Foresight. And by foresight I mean more than 2 hours.
Your assumption that I am 'playing' with <$5k is miss guided - I don't feel the need to post how much I invest in crypto - To me it is also a lot more than a tool to get rich quick.

You know the part about this thread that loses some perspective... this is just the currency application aspect of Bitcoin the technology... lets not lose focus of that when we see some greedy people manipulate this still fragile fledgling economy.

Question is, how will you feel if the price rebounds to 500 soon? Or even 550.
If it hits 550, and stays at that minimum for 2 weeks or more, then it's likely a reversal. I'll happily buy more then.
Until then, it's still a bear downturn. Acting like it's all over now is just silly.
I'm talking short term here. Not saying this bear downturn is down, just that things can bounce for now, and have already begun bouncing a while ago.
Why in the hell am I, accused "bear troll", arguing with former permabulls about the price rising?

Funny how that goes, isn't it? The former bullish people giving up hope.
Thing is, if I'm wrong, I just CUT LOOSE.
All in the pursuit of a quick profit - we keep making BTC look like a volatile joke to the uneducated :/

Hmmm, interesting activity on BFX. Both Stamp and BFX have some major bid support that formed after the dip into $450s. Perhaps this is the bottom where a true bull trap forms.
In less than 24 hours after the dumps, nearly $3m of bids have been added on BFX, and just over $2m on Bitstamp. Thats pretty healthy.
Then again, BFX got an 11k BTC ask wall today.
Here is a sloppily edited image showing what the asks looked like 24hrs ago, and the fuller blue being the asks after the 11k "wall"

Pretty odd. Seems fake. Pretty crazy it still looks that steep on log mode (the chart is sloppy but the lines are 99% in the right spot.)
Looks doubly fake to me, and therefore not fake.

https://www.bitstamp.net/article/bitstamp-status-update/Dear Bitstamp clients,
Bitcoin`s staggering growth continues!
Unfortunately, to our mutual displeasure, this growth and other issues have caused problems for some of our customers. These issues include recent problems with our banking software which caused a large backlog of transfers which in turn increased the manual checking that was required by support agents. Additional networking issues also magnified the work required. Altogether our need for additional support agents and hardware has increased dramatically.
Bitstamp works hard to provide the excellent service and in response to these problems, we have upgraded our hardware infrastructure and hired four new support agents. This brings our total employee count to seventeen.
Further, in anticipation of Bitcoin`s continued growth, Bitstamp is hiring more staff members and further improving our hardware infrastructure.
Thank you for your understanding and loyalty.
Best regards,
The Bitstamp team
-We are a victim of our own success
TM I recently tried to signup with Bitstamp to purchase some coins - I sent them a shit ton of information (It was actually more invasive than my local bank)
Apparently the DPI on my images wasn't to their standard - I politely told them to **** my **** and de-activated my account.

Been doing lots of research for a long time into our economy and what gives us belief in the system and how it works.
Pretty stomach turning shit once you get into the nitty gritty of it - once history repeats itself as it always does, we will see a loss of faith in the US dollar which will lead to people turning to gold or hopefully BTC.. That will bring a pretty serious injection into the BTC economy and off we go!
This article points you to some really educational material regarding money and how it works (Has worked for centuries) and what you can expect in the coming years.

Post 8629560 (copy this link) (by X7) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_13.10h):
I don't know anyone who owns a single satoshi anymore. All 5 of my friends have sold and won't be back when they saw they were down $60-120/coin, somewhere around $50k in investors. The 2 guys who used to talk to me about btc think I am trying to scam them. My neighbor used btc to get a discount on a new laptop; he bought them literally at the last possible second so that they price would not drop during the time that they were in his address.
There are 3 main classes of btc owners, IMO:
- the majority with less than 5 coins
- the middle with 5-300 coins
- the bigger guys
These drops are not about btc value. They are not about price discovery. It has nothing to do with TA. It is just the big guys taking money from the smaller guys. I have spent 7 months staring at the charts and watching buy/sells scroll buy. Every drop is started by 200, 250, 300, 350 coins market sells, followed by more large sells, then the rest with 1-10 coins trying frantically not to lose money (which of course the always do). The big guys have their buy orders a few percent off the top, buy back in. Rinse and repeat day after day, as the price drops day after day, so the big guys can make their easy profits. And then defend the 7k dump on Bitfinex as natural market movement. And defend the big dump on BTC-e a few days later as a natural market movement. And complain that people refuse to buy the price up for your next dump.
We are not in a bear market. We are in a market where the big guys make more money on dumps than price increases. And dumps are SO much easier.
The smug big guys in this thread like to say we are in accumulation phase. No, we aren't. We are in the "take the newbies' money" stage. They are also the guys who encourage trading, instead of holding. See, they don't make money from you when you only hold your coins, they need you on an exchange. Goldman, etc., are replaced by anyone who holds 1 or 2k coins and can initiate dumps or walls.
Some of the big guys here are talking about $300 coins. Good luck with that, I hope you achieve it. Everyone except you will have sold and left btc. Everyone else will have lost half their money and left the technology for good. You will likely get $50, $25, $10, $1 coins, too. A Pyrrhic victory.
This short term thinking drives the price down, hinders new adoption, and drives out anyone who has adopted recently. Remember that when you see the charts that say btc adoption has stagnated: why would the average person hold coins that have dropped over 20% in the last 2 months and 60% in 9 months, for exactly no reason? Why would a newbie even CONSIDER buying btc when he is guaranteed to lose money?
I am thinking about dropping out of trading myself. I will keep a percentage of my coins in a cold wallet, sell the rest. This crap happening in the market is unbearable. I would rather deal with wallet street than bitcoin markets.
And no, I haven't lost coins trading. That is only because my trades rarely last over an hour.
I feel your frustration, but the greed of a few people should not hinder what the potential of this technology has to offer us all in the long term.
It is very frustrating to see a handful of people continually shit on BTC for a fiat based profit only to re-buy their same coins at a cheaper price and enjoy the ride up. We understand they are looking to make money but pick your spot man, the continued abuse of this manipulation in the infancy stages of BTC will just slow everything down and give the very people we battle to over come time we really don't have to waste.
Sandia is not alone in her frustration.

But I wont ever give up on a solution or keep trying

If this doesn't convince you, I really don't know what will...

You can't reduce the function and meaning to whatever is representing just that. Handshake is just two hands connecting in a certain way, but we add meaning to it do we not? What if I reduced that to nerves, muscles, fat, movement, etc and told you thats all there is to it! It's pointless! It carries no meaning at all. Let's take a statue, just a rock with a certain form, but still just rock! Meaningless!
Obviously you would disagree and explain to me that there is more to it than that! See your folly? Now stop with the nonsense.
Of course it can be explained - I just posted a link on the previous page go look at The Hidden secrets of money and research it for yourself.. Do not let someone's zealous libertarian outlook on a frustrating problem bring a negative knee jerk reaction.

Yeah, picked the meme to bring some reality... If I invested 50k in a business that had a 300% return on year 1... It would be a good day... lol

Ok so I was just confirming, that basically you are saying BTC wil become irrelevant because it will no longer "do what it says on the tin"
First, some housekeeping.
Sentences end with a period. Ellipsis: three dots. Take the extra dots in your ellipses and stick them at the end of your sentences. Put the rest in your pocket--sell them to your friends.
Again, I did not say "will" (or "wil [sic]").
Try putting moar care into reading than you do into writing.
and you do not know what "a solution to centralization means?"
well, you infer that Bitcoin was only relevant because it is decentralised .........what made it relevant? because it was offering a solution to ...... ... ... centralisation..... right or no?
No. I Bitcoin is a solution to money. It never tried to offer a "solution to centralization" because centralization need to be solved as much as peanut butter.
Being decentralized helps Bitcoin. Being centralized hurts Bitcoin. How can I make this any simpler 4 U?
@empowering: But I have just gave you a concrete, non-trivial, and common example of the semantics not being semantics at all!
...stealing and fraud are still stealing and fraud...
But many people here call taxes stealing. Do you see how petty semantics aren't petty semantics, and that attempting to formalize shit and reconcile different interpretations of "what's right" gave us The Body Of Law?
Solution for peanut butter = Nutella
