I would prefer a POW change that will make useless the asics and return the mining to the gpu's and cpu's.

Is any POW algo ever truly ASIC proof?

I dont think so, i dont see POW change as a good option ( we would often need to change POW to another algorithm as ASICs come). Network hash is what secures bitcoin. Miner dominance must be resolved in some other way.

Another obituary. Coolio.

I give credit to BTC where it's due i.e for clearing the way for the alternate cryptocurrencies. It's an achievement that will be written in the pages of history. But the reality is that newer cryptos are speeding past it and it's just a matter of time (maybe a few months or even less) before the king is dethroned.

Yep, today it almost got dethroned by FirstBlood, someone bought 0.002 tokens for 0.13 ETH.
Made FirstBlood second on coinmarketcap, if someone buys 0.002 for 0.26 ETH tomorrow bitcoin is screwed.
Yikes

wow i think 43% bitcoin dominance is way too much

correction will come soon

I think it is not enough. Correction will come, but in Bitcoins favor.

What altcoin actually has real utility? Monero, ethereum and maybe filecoin (when it comes out)? And of those 3 only one is a money. So really only Monero should be capitalized beyond what is necessary for on network token utility. Bitcoin dominance should probably be 80% or more.

BBQcoin

you can buy BBQ sauce with it!

Theres also potcoin. You cant buy anything with that, but a lot of people worldwide loves pot.

for an coin that can not be used as a currency i highly doubt that

98% of alts are vaporware. There's some legit of course.
As this crypto market slides down, i expect dominance of btc to rise. hence i expect alts to crash more and thus increase dominance

We're close to the bottom

Yeah, we are close to the bottom of a trendline, then when we dump on that trendline we will be closer to the bottom, which is close to the bottom of course. XD

I'm a one trick pony when it comes to charts. I look for the closing triangles. This one looks pretty straight forward. In early April we either crash hard or go back into bull mode.

-snip-

Or we just do a breakout (up, down) for a short time, pull back or bounce back and continue ranging between $6k to $10k for a few more months.Weak hands can also be shaken out by breaking their patience.Because most of the people want to see quick results, profits, progress. However Bitcoin and crypto in general is still very early and will need much more time to mature. The ones not willing to go this path, not having the patience, will leave and mostly lose and probably regret it in a few years.
So this may be some boring time, but this also the time where lots of progress and development happens. As always true believers will separate from "get rich quick" money grabbers until the next bull run starts.

We just need to be patient, and wait until next halvening. I still see sucess for bitcoin, we just need to cleanse all the scams first.

All the veteran bulls still playing it cool like..

Most of us bought many coins below $1000. This is fucking annoying, sure. It’s delaying me from buying a nice, big house & never having to work again but long term the price will recover & we’ll all be able to carry out the plans we had at the last ATH.

I think when the price was $19,000 I was HODLING over 35 x my initial investment in bitcoin. **Just quickly worked out** - I now HODL 16-17 x my total investment.

It’s bad but it could be a hell of a lot worse. $20,000 will be back in a year or two & then I hope/expect to see $50,000 per coin by the end of 2021. I’m probably going to sell most of my coins then tbh.

TERA is waiting for hers 2fiddy dollars bitcorns. You will just end in a never again some price point discussion. There will be bulls and bears always, thats how the market works.

So, this time 7,5k was the point where we went down again.

Next one is 6,5k ?

Probably all the way down to 3-4k

The double bottom was denied. We are going straight to hell, that's it, $1k and the three-digits nightmare train.

I hope you didnt go all-in. Thats the problem with permabulls, they go all-in and when such crash happens, they cant buy the dip.

With the permabears its the same, they sell everything, get squeezed and then become preachers of doom. Rest assured that bitcoin will recover, as it recovered in 2011 when it had a similar crash.

Only triple digits? Cant we get some double digits, i would like to buy some, and double digits seems much better buy opportunity.

When big banks, businesses and all the poor unbanked (cannot pay BTC on-chainfees - but BCH) ?

what are you talking about? the currect bitcoin transaction fees are about $0.15.

They are like a broken record, they dont know how to change narrative, it requires one to do some research and think lol
They probably still think it is 2017

Well holy crap, with this rate we will be sub 3k tomorrow lol.

But regarding to a previous post, this whole situation is just a part of the full market cycle.  Just need to be patient to see some greens again.

It is better to have quick drop and be over with that imho, than have a slow bleadout
Slow bleadouts are the worst

From current prices what crypto do you think will 10x first, Ethereum or Bitcoin?

Both ETH and BTC will not make 10X so forget 10X and get into seeing bitcoin being used as a means of payments worldwide, this should be our main objective

Kinda goes one with other. Cant transact huge amounts of money and transactions with something that has small value per unit, if it is meant to be a global payment system one bitcoin must be huge, broken into satoshis ofcourse. Or it will be underground, in which case it can be at 3k or under.
