Still a fantastic 57% increase in 2 years.

if there is some a big move into bitcoin in greece, say this time next year 10% of greek pop uses bitcoin and its accepted everywhere in greece we could very well see 32,000$ in less than 2 years. 10% of greece's pop is ~1 million poeple, assuming these 1million poeple hodl a 500$ balances in bitcoin we're looking at half a billion dollars pumped into bitcoin, but it won't stop there, having a real world economy use bitcoin is going to improve investor confidence, and i could easily see 10-20billion get pumped into bitcoin as a result, but it won't stop there, economies will crash around the world one by one, and seeing how greeks all got rich off of using bitcoin, they will all want to do the same thing, the decentralization of world domination is well under way! but it won't stop there aliens will come down from the heavens and buy bitcoin.

So... The big plan was to buy back at 1100?
I think there is no big plan - today at least. No reasons, nothing on the horizon, etc, etc, so I think it has to be altcoin profits liquidated in the BTC market (tends to be more liquid than the alt/$ markets). The altcoin sphere picked up a couple billions, so a few big dumps in BTC could be expected.
On the other hand, one would ask for a certain equilibrium - meaning that if altcoins get pumped, then one would also expect BTC buys leveling the field... Seemingly that has not been the case, which means the pumpers already had the BTC. It's the ex-altcoin holders who went for the BTC and then the bank.
So BTC buys alts, those who picked BTC are cashing out. I don't really see anything else here.
The fork FUD is here for a few weeks and didn't affect all that much, and if anything, BU has lost even more credibility the last couple of days due to its low-quality problems (remote exploits). Generally all FUD has had a minor effect, whether it was articles claiming low prices after etf decline, PBOC actions, or fork FUD...
What is "BU" ?

I am thinking that Core not supporting SegWit2x may be because after SegWit is activated, all eyes will be on them to raise the block size to 2mb. By not supporting it they can push for just moving on with SegWit and LN instead. They are also balking at the 3 month timeline which is not a lot of time for testing something that would fork the chain.
I can also see that the miners are agreeing to this compromise because they see that BIP148 will probably get SegWit activated so they might as well try to get the 2mb if they can.
Either way, it's looking like we will have SegWit some time around August.
Yeah, but what code is going to be run?
Will it be the segwit tested code or some inferior variation?
