To me, the bid structure on Bitfinex looks like a whale bought about 6k BTC non-leveraged, and now
he put fake (legit but would vanish) bids leveraged staggered between 234$ and 249$, to persuade the
piglets into getting bull trapped. I hope he'll succeed and that I'll be able to dump before him. Wink

How did you guess that he actually bought about 6k BTC, then put fake leveraged bids on? Is there somewhere that keeps a record of leveraged bids that anyone can view? I agree the 20k bid wall looks fake and I think it will get pulled sooner or later.

CCMF time  Cool

This time without LTC...

What do you mean by ccfm time?

I'd like to know what CCMF means too. I Googled for it and still couldn't get a straight answer. The closest I got was "it means choo choo". It's not in the newbie technical terms page either. Is it a secret term that only really "cool" people are allowed to know? WTF does CCMF mean?

what does means "CCFM"? i saw guys in BTC-E trollboxchat saying the same.

Choo Choo Mother Fucker.

C C M F

CCFM?

If you want something doing do it yourself. I finally had some luck Googling for CCMF. The top definition at urbandictionary.com seems the most likely of those that I found. Someone should add Choo Choo Mother Fucker to the urbandictionary.com definitions if that's what CCMF means here..

TOP DEFINITION
ccmf
An acronym used for "Closed Casket Motha Fucka". When someone gets shot in the face and it's so fucked up they have to close the casket at the wake of a funeral.

Chirp Chirp Motherfucker!
When Ball State scored the winning touchdown, we all yelled, "CCMF!"

None of these from acronymfinder.com really fit the context of the wall observer.

Come on Donald...I thought Satoshi worked for the CIA as an school coder...?

Satoshi has a Japanese name, not a Chinese name. I thought the Chinese hated the Japanese. Why would they give him a Japanese name if they secretly invented Bitcoin using him as a front? I don't know what the Chinese equivalent of the CIA is called but I don't believe they invented Bitcoin, or that the US CIA invented Bitcoin.

Thanks for helping to keep the price high until I can get my old coins out of cold storage. The wallet.dat file is incompatible with the new version so I am having a difficult time accessing them. Any ideas?

What version do you need?

What year was it released in, was it 2011 or earlier?

I notice the old version qt binary downloads have been removed from sourceforge.

Pywallet is supposed to be good for extracting keys from wallet.dat files, but you need to install python to use it.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/pywallet/files/

There is also source code for old qt versions on github, but it needs compiling.

Besides my last suggestion of using pywallet there is another way of retrieving private keys using some old tools from 2011. There is a tutorial at this link, but it's only for wallets from 2011, not for later versions. That's why the first thing you read in the thread is a warning that it's out of date.

[GUIDE] Simple wallet recovery using bitcointools

It uses some python software called bitcointools to get the job done.

bitcointalk.org image proxy: invalid image

Richie has been experimenting with the script - looks like he has inadvertently used an incorrectly nested \[img\]http://tag in the image url

Yes, I thought it was aproblem with the bitcointalk image proxy until you said the code wasn't right.  The images are being allowed through, it's a problem with the code. There don't appear to be any 3D market view images in chartbuddy's posts at the moment, only the images below and broken URLs. Coding a live system is difficult and chartbuddy is online 24/7.
