This is from an automated trading system I built for primarily trading stocks, but I managed to pull a feed in for BTC as well.  The move for the last few days looks pretty decent - it very clearly broke the downtrend that's been plaguing the currency for a while.

What about the much more profound triple bottom?

I don't know, could you perhaps show me an example of a triple bottom to help further my understanding?

It's more consolidation and breakout imo.  The triple bottom is harder to see since the third time down actually went briefly below the previous two lows and held there for a while.
