What the hell is going on over at Bitcoinwisdom? I still cannot see the updated Houbi chart.
And why is this happening to some people and not others?
Having the same problem.
On an unrelated note: Seems like this market is a fear driven market. Can't wait to see what happens monday.

I thought I'd share this little cool trick for the ones trading on Finex directly via their browsers
To get a very fast refresh interval (every second) of the orderbook (and other parameters as well) plug this javascript function into a bookmark
javascript:(function({setInterval("update_bids()",1000);setInterval("update_asks()",1000);setInterval("update_rates()",1000);setInterval("update_orders()",2000);setInterval("update_positions()",4000);setInterval("update_wallets()",2000);})();
I found this interesting but why are you updating orders every 2 seconds and positions every 4 secs? I don't use orderbook so sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

Not to forget, there's some speculation in the more tinfoil-hatty segments that the NSA may have supplied algorithms that are "pre-weakened". Seems unlikely but with everything that has been coming out lately, perhaps not to be dismissed out-of-hand so quickly.
IIRC, it was confirmed (by Snowden?) that the NSA had weakened a random number generator used by some OS (Windows?) to generate keys in some popular crypto protocol (https?). The numbers were drawn from a smaller domain than clients expected, making the keys easier to find by brute force.
Is this that Dual_EC_DRBG backdoor I've been hearing about?

So should I continue to even bother writing this donation-ware program for bitcoin? Or will bitcoin be dead by the end of the week?
Also a recap of why the drop happened would be nice.
My understanding is:
- China fud (even though they didn't lead this drop whatsoever and from what I can tell they still are not)
- ghash.io was close to 51% but is now 43%
-sr coins for sale by fbi. But isn't it a good thing criminals got cleaned out?
Am I missing something important? Or is this the weak hands shake down.

No offense, really! But take a look at a 1+ year graph. These things have happened before. A lot. A helluva lot.
So I take it that I summed up what is going on. I know I'm new to the forum. Also wasn't the last major drop caused by china fud and the chinese exchanges lead that drop from 1k+ peak? This drop seems very much different in nature.

the ghash.io thing is scary, I can understand the paniccy pussies selling to an extent. But I have trust in the community to fix it. P2pool seems a good way. Once it offers low enough variance, people will flock to it. Kudos to the miners already switching. They are real men!
Seems like it is being fixed. I saw that ghash.io is down to 42%. Apparently someone is working on it.

Should I sell BTC before US auction of btc begins or should I hold ?
If you cannot decide on your own what to do or whom to follow, then do nothing. Presumably there is a reason that you bought BTC. If it still exists, hold. If it doesn't or never did, sell.
I bought BTC because concept of decentralization appealed to me. I am not in it for profit as I don't hold much BTC.
If it's not about the profit then hold. Support bitcoin's concept of decentralization.

I can't help but to remember last time when bitcoin drop below 400 briefly. I remember these forums were covered in bitcoin is fail, bitcoin is failing, this is the end sentiment. WTF?
Bitstamp: 464.99
BTC-e: 430
Bitfinex: 463
Exchange pump bots can't arbitrage.
If BTC-e ran with the money is there anything anyone could do about it? It just smells like up coming scandal to me. I was wonder what everyone else thought?
Im actually buying some coins, but I wonder if I should sell a few (over a 100) and buy them back since I can almost guarantee that sometime tonight well test 400 and then rebuy.. Ive been burned in the passed doing this, but i think this may be a fairly good bet..
Thoughts?
I am a holder and dont plan on selling, I just think this downward spiral isn't over with and this may be a good time to take advantage of a for sure bear market as this isn't a trap (I think). I know im taking a chance.. but either way, Id buy them back even if I had to take a loss.
Ill probably chicken out and just hold, but im thinking about it..
Probably a bad idea but who really knows for sure.

BTC-e is the only exchange that ever gave me back all my coin when they were hacked. I've been fucked by all the rest. I'm still waiting for TradeHill and CryptoXChange to pay me.
Never got on board tradehill or cryptoxchange so lucky me. I just can't help but to think something is going on over there at btc-e. Maybe it's nothing...
I actually like BTC-e the most as well. Greater price fluctuations on downturns, but they don't screw with their prices, there seems to be fewer exchange based bots designed to squeeze you on the trade spread, and they don't reverse trades. I honestly trust their price more than the others right now although, who the hell knows.
Who reversed trades on you? Also I can't be the only one who feels this way. Do you wire money over to them then? I saw that was the only option for usa traders.

I kinda like BTC-e, I don't think they'll Gox you, and I trust their price more right now as a harbinger for things to come. That might be wrong, though. I am not even trading right now because the whole market has gotten so far out of hand at this point.
This is the second time they've provided lowest prices during a bitcoin low point. It is awfully tempting to make use of their services. I just don't like the bank wire transfer to someone I don't know idea. I've read around the internet and some seem to think they are shady. I'll look into doing it but probably not going to do any sort of volume through them if I do.

want to add some chips on one side?
I'm gonna take a guess and predict that the buy wall disappears this weekend. Bitcoin drops sub 500. Next week it comes back up over 500.

?? context plz
Check BTC-e on bitcoinwisdom. It looks like 2, maybe 3 or 4, bots battling it out. Their volume is insane, nearly all in small amounts. To me, it looks like something went haywire.
I find it extremely odd that the only time they post high volume is when they initiate a downward trend.
Something seems fishy...

The bottom is calculated long ago, browse around. It's the price it costs to mine BTC with electricity cost that most miners pay, currently somewhere around $280.

Post 8886582 (copy this link) (by SFHere) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_13.14h):
Good the winter is comming You will not have to cool those mining machines

My only overhead is electricity for cooling and powering the machines, the cooling will be easier in the next few months yes. I'm the only person I know that's praying for the temperature outside to drop! Hahah If it drops lower and difficulty goes higher, obviously the lifespan of my machines shortens dramatically and thus I get less profit than I originally forecasted, but due to my business model, I normally break even on my hardware within a few days, so I don't have that to worry about

Can you tell me what kind of hardware you're running? How much electricity you're using?
I've been curious. Please solve my curiosity

I know there are many different thoughts on this monday matter and the upcoming weeks. But I personally would like to see bitcoin come up. I don't think a drop to sub 300 is going to help bitcoin in the long run. That's because I feel that sub 300 will hurt miners and will create a general distrust in bitcoin. But what do I know....
I'll just consider this as a wish contributed to the wishing well. Maybe it will help offset some of that fear mongering I've been seeing lately.
