I always said this would happen. You guys never listen to me.
It is the speculation thread, but I suspect China will follow Stamp and Gox in a massive selloff. They have more weak hands than anybody at the moment, because they represent the most new money. Should the bearish signals prove to be true of course.
single digits by friday.

Sure...

With all the deleted posts this thread is going to be even stranger for anyone going back and reading.
Truly the most pointless place in the internet -- makes reddit look sane and balanced.

Nothing more nerdy than deleting post for not reaching 10K...

agree again. nevertheless i am just explaining the rise of ripple and thats one part of its success. you can obv say that ripple is centralized or whatsoever. only, it doesnt matter. in the end all what matters is which system gains mainstream-trust and gets track in the financial world and which system gains markets trust.
You may not be wrong in the short to medium term but in the longer term, we see what happens with trust:
Assholes get in and abuse it. Ripple may or may not have a place but it is not doing the same thing as Bitcoin.
Speaking of trust abuse: Remember who joined Ripple Labs Advisory Board in July? Yes, Mr. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg. He knows how to trick people and he knows how to keep up appearances. Perfect skills for Ripple Labs!

For people who don't know him:
BERLIN—Germany's controversial ex-defense minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg plagiarized swathes of his doctoral thesis "intentionally," according to the university that awarded him his doctorate.

think we'll have any significant differences in price movement (up, down, bouncing around...) after new years? seems everything's kinda just waiting this time of year.
It's not so much waiting as people losing interest.
5200 posts since March 2014.
You certainly havent lost interest.

Well, obviously he is not be missed in real life. I wonder why...

mhhh not really.
I guess Lampchop would not be missed on bitcointalk as well.* 5200 meaningless posts.
*his sock puppet accounts would miss him of course.

The nice part:
LTC appears to have bounced from a floor of $3.90 to about 5.25 right now, and BTC still rose a bit.
Dead Cat Bounce for sure.
Drop it like it's hot!

Horrific news for the Greek public. Banks closed until mid August so that 60 euro a day withdrawal limit will stay in place then. It must be a nightmare, absolute nightmare. Imagine not being able to get access to YOUR money.
I suppose the financially clued up people would have seen this coming months ago & acted as necessary.
What i dont get: The greeks are still able to send money from Greece to Greece. So why they dont send money to BTC-exchanges and use BTC to get a grip to their funds?
I mean i here nothing about that. Obv Tsipras would immediately forbid BTC in Greece, nevertheless it would be a sign of peoples power. But they dont do it! Why?
Well, I think the answer is easy: There is no BTC Exchange in Greece. Only a few Bitcoin Atms...
+most people know nothing about Bitcoin.

How do you guys store your coins in cold storage btw?
Electrum, paper wallets??
Just curious, thinking about using a different method.
Electrum offline ftw
I was thinking what happens if Electrum were to disappear? Do you store the program on a USB stick or something?
No, you store your HD wallet seed ( some random words) on a piece of paper. So In case something went wrong you can recover your wallet with this word seed. simple.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Another day, another ATH, another $100 correction, another bounce back... currently $2009USD (Bitcoinaverage).
Gotta love these regular corrections as we go. They're not deep enough to be buying opportunities but just deep enough to let us know it's not a bubble.
Go Bitcoin go.
exactly. Cant wait for SegWit on btc in august.
Are you sure? why august?
The User Activated Soft Fork (UASF) is planned for the first of August. Either miners will have agreed by then or the users will pressure it through with a split and miners will end up switching to the SegWit chain.
So every bitcoiner should run a node if he want's Segwit to be arcitved soon. Currently looking for nice hardware setup which is efficient/silent...

Post 20472270 (copy this link) (by Lincoln6Echo) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_15.15h):
Well, I have a dilemma about what to do with the BCC that we will receive after the HF, and those are the options i can see:
a) Dump the shit for real BTC, ASAP!
b) Wait a little, until (...) happens, or markets stabilizes, and then dump the shit.
c) Hodl. Elites want BCC to be the new Bitcoin, and it will absorb almost all the market cap of the real Bitcoin (ok, yeah, sometimes i have conspiranoic nightmares with all this kind of stuff). Or simply hold because it is free.
What would you guys choose?
a) or b)
Well it depends how hard bitmaincoin will be dumped. If it gets dumped hard it maybe makes sense to wait for a little recovery and then dump it.
Makes no sense to hold a centralized shitcoin. It is not even a fork it is an altcoin because of difficulty adjustment.

Me too...
Charlie has the better deal that's for sure; however, Roger probably does not give a shit because he has so much money and he is so filled with emotion, and he does not mind throwing away 250 BTC for this cause...... in order to replace that BTC with something that is lucky to have 1/10 the value... Sure, a publicity stunt that may cost Roger around $1million... to trade BTC for what is likely to be our newest introduction of a shitcoin.
There was some other dude who wanted to trade his coins with Roger before August HF. Roger never went through this deal iirc. He just noisy without substance...

My favorite:
I’d conquered the Trezor with its nerdishly cruel PIN delay function, and one-upped the part of my brain that thought it could keep a secret from its owner. Fuck the both of you, I thought. I won.
Made me giggle.
