Hey I'm new here, but I thought I'd go ahead and share my speculations.
As you can see, to me, it seems as if we may be in for a third "echo" (not repeat--as I've been told markets don't repeat, etc)
http://oi61.tinypic.com/oje520.jpgsource:
http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/bitstampUSD#tgSzm1g10zm2g25zlAfter the rise ends, you have your slump, your hump, your re-rise, a level area, and then a very large rise.
As I am completely new to a lot of this stuff, I have no real idea if any of this is viable, it's just a pattern I noticed. And we seem to be right in the beginning stages of the re-rise, as it always seems to have that initial down trend at the very beginning.
What are your thoughts?
(Please let me know if I'm breaking rules or something...I don't want to be disruptive!)

You are doing the one thing everyone else is supposed to be doing!
+1 nice charts
Thanks guys, good to know I'm in the right place for this stuff!
If my speculations are at all accurate...I'm very much looking forward to the next few months

Thanks a lot for the projection bpnave!!
I get the sense that many of us, here, are engaging in a kind of best guestimates of the future..
I see that you are projecting, more or less, a break out in the summer time-frame... (june or july-ish)
So my question is whether we expect to go above $1,200 at that point? and then will we stay at some point in which the lows are higher than the previous high? meaning that the lows would thereafter remain higher than $1200. Surely, I get the sense that sufficient BTC infrastructure and networking around bitcoin is allowing for such price break outs and higher highs and higher lows... .which would also bring with it, less volatility.
Yeah, I think you're right. If it follows the previous patterns, we'll go far above and stay above $1,200, especially seeing as we're getting pretty darn logarithmic overall growth so far! Either we break that pattern, or things will start looking pretty incredible.

Bitcoins are owned by evil people? Well if we want to get philosophical about it, we all are sinners so I guess it could be true.

I worship Zeus, and to me, you christian sinners should all
burn in hell rot in Hades.
Did the Greeks actually worship Hades? Was it reluctantly? Maybe the Disney film is messing me up lol

I was waiting up so I could post on page 7000...
Can everyone hold back on long posts or large charts until morning (BST) and not spoil it, so I can go to bed?
BTW - someone was looking for a name for the celebration when price and page counts converge.
How about 'Parity Party'?
Yeah, my suggestion was "Wall Observer Thread Ultimate Parity Party" or "WOTUP Party".
YOU WOT MATE?
(but seriously though that acronym is fantastic)

Oh, you do? Well that's good, because I'll tell you where you're gonna find some Bitcoins--
You're gonna find them,

Today's my birthday--and BTC passing the threshold needed for me to make a profit again after a few months ($638.25/BTC) is a fantastic birthday present!

At my current investment, I'm making profit when Bitstamp is above 638.25.
Ever since the drop, it's been...profitable...not profitable...profitable...not profitable...profitable...AUGH!!
lol when are we going to get above 640 and stay there for more than five minutes?? haha

If you're saying you can not vote on the current poll, I have the same problem.. 2 polls so far that haven't given me any way to vote, it only shows me the results...
Yup, that's my problem. Maybe it's because we're newbies?

The photo about rptiella is obviously overexposed, so you can't make any conclusion about his health.
If he likes to smoke, let him enjoy it, what's the point of having money, if you have to live like a super ninja monk or some health freak.
It's better to do what you like and be dead before going senile, then wetting yourself while you're waiting to die.
I disagree, but only because I want different things out of life than just pleasure. Many people want a family and to be surrounded by loved ones, meaning every next moment they spend with those people is worth nearly any kind of suffering they may be feeling at the moment.
Honestly, I think interpersonal relationships are just more rewarding in the first place than any pleasure a person could get on their own.

Funnily enough (after seeing the photo re-quoted to exhaustion) I noticed exactly the same thing from the color of the wine. Unless the camera has an exceptionally crappy dynamic range but a professional photographer wouldn't have the shittiest dynamic range camera.
yes, not a very good photographer.
Or perhaps...a photographer who knew exactly what they were doing. "Make him look more nerdy!" They can't let Bitcoin success become respected, right?

The linear graph is more dramatic than the log graph....I literally think you have this the wrong way around.
Also...
choo
Huh, I thought since the logarithmic graph pushes lower prices to a higher visual position that it made the lower prices look "better". I'm a newbie at all this so I know I could be completely wrong.
Also

This time last year I was mining 3BTC a day on a single Avalon B2.
Things change incredibly quickly in this game.
That's incredibly humbling...here I am stressed about my lonesome 1BTC!

I have a question someone might know the answer to:
http://i.imgur.com/voSyxxf.pngthose are 3-day candles on bitcoinwisdom. When will that last candle end? Did it just start or is it about to end?
EDIT: It says "2014-06-03 2:00" when you hover over it with he crosshair pointer. Seems to me that's GMT 0:00 translated to my time zone.
Is that the start time of the candle time range?
I believe that's the starting date, so for yours, it starts on the 3rd of June and ends on the 6th at the same time. Meaning that that candle has just started.
Weird, though, since for me, it says at the bottom that it's June 2nd for that candle, meaning 2nd-5th. Either way it's at least another day or so before the next candle starts.

I've been out of the loop for a little bit. What caused the sudden $200+ rise over the past couple of weeks?
Me.
I want so badly to put Jesus Christ on ignore, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
I recall I was faced with a similar problem at school. I resolved to refrain from ignoring him but instead chose to ignore almost everyone who quoted him.

What were those quoting him saying?

I'm bored :c
bored people are boring people
TBH that's a fantastic response, because it'll either make the person want to be less boring and actually get up and do stuff, or it'll at least make them feel insulted, which is of course, not being bored.

TL;DR: The paper claims growth is n log(n) and not n^2.
Honestly, it would only be n^2 if every node connected with every other node. I'm certainly not friends with EVERYONE who ever is or was on facebook!
