What is happening again? There were great news with start of this week why are we heading down? Or maybe these big corporations pushing the price down so they can buy in and let it skyrocked then?

I agree, I thought the Expedia news would have made at least a noticeable gain - maybe its still too early and people are still hearing the news?  Maybe this is the quiet before the storm brought on by the flood of wall street money that's supposed to enter the market?

Indeed, but it might take a while.

Don't expect serious moon rocketry until after the SR coin auction uncertainty is in the past.

The price is so inestable, itīs danger to play now.

Yup. Lots of obvious short stop losses just got squeezed on Bitfinex, probably on Huobi as well. Could be another classic Bitcoin Fuck You Rally. Wouldn't be surprised if it was as according to all the indicators, a break out should just not be happening. I can't speak for Huobi where the break out was initiated, but on Bitfinex, the lionshare of the buying power of the break out was squeezed short trades and even then Bitfinex conspired to rob everyone blind by front running all the Ask orders required to cover stop loss orders above $600, and then selling them to stop loss orders at $608.

These people are fucking criminals and need locked up.

You sure do whine a lot. Did you get burned at BFX and now think its all their fault?

Looking at the bitfinex data very few shorts have actually been closed. Not sure how often it is updates though on http://www.bfxdata.com/bitfinexLiquidityBTC.php

I think it is someone just buying some coins while we are down here.

Just 24 hours ago he and the other usual trolls where crying like crazy because i felt the price was being kept down.
I mentioned how these losers are the first to cry about manipulation when the price goes up 10 bucks.
Well, there you go.
They're not even trying to hide their stupidity. Unbelievable.

haters gonna hate.

On another note.. drank some beer, price went up...please do your part and drink lol

First, there are no women in bitcoin.

Second, if I left, I really worry about what will happen around here. Since this is what you people do to others whom you disagree with (coerce them to leave the forums) I'm one of the few actual voices of reason that remain.

How old are you 10? I don't ignore people very often even fonzie is not on my ignore list (he used to be though), but I will gladly add you to the list. You're a shit stain on this forum, so bye now. Smiley

You can ignore me, but you can't ignore my message! Nobody can deny the truth.

Informal surveys in here (one of which I started myself), Bitcoin meetups, those I've attended myself and those I've seen pictures of, point towards ~10% "women in Bitcoin" currently.

Not nearly enough to claim both genders are equally represented, but definitely too much to pretend "there are no wominz in bitcoin hur dur". (hint: "there are no women on the Internet" also doesn't mean what you probably think it means.)

the 'girlsgonebitcoin' subreddit is proof that there are indeed lots of girls involved in bitcoin! Wink

I don't see us really falling too low...there isn't really any reason for a sell of right now.   The auction results actually turned out to be strong since the winner is using it for liquidity for his business.   He didn't mention an intention of any of them seeing the open market any time soon...

This probably isn't a huge deal, but it could be factor for the drop:

yeah the eba thing is creating a lot of FUD im noticing, but that usually comes before a rally at least that's how it's been (i.e. china bans, ghash, auction) MOON baby....

That time, the lull was suddenly followed by a big rally at 13:00 (05:00 UTC).
Will it happen again this Monday?

I expect things to pick up at least a little tomorrow....*fingers crossed*

The Winklevii ETF "COIN" to be activated on the 11th

It went above 600$ in less than 1 day, i guess it was just a minor crash. Maybe bitcoins will rise soon, there were some news on 24.7. if i'm right but now i can't find it again what it was about,  can somebody please let me know if that was the reason for crash?

Two circulating rumor/explanations:

-people selling BTC to participate the Ethereum IPO. Ethereum directly cashing out BTC to fiat
-the 24th of July self-prophecy about the 234 days bubble rubbing the wrong side

I donīt buy that teories, I think itīs more due a random dump or another unexpected/unknowable reason

yeah it looked very random to me. I think the people dumping there will be sorry soon and be forced to rebuy significantly higher.

I hadn't thought about people selling btc for ether, that actually makes a lot of sense given all the pr ethereum has gotten this week

The green walls on Bitstamp are weak, you don't need much for such a move.

Still nothing impressive and that reveals any reversal tendencies yet.

Wait for a retest of $530. If it does that, then back to $600+ we go.

this sounds pretty reasonable, but i dont think it will dip past 440-450

how many coins were bought in that "big buy" on 9/23?

Lots, tens of thousands across all exchanges, changed hands in that crazy spike. Most of them at the top. Some at the bottom. So is the life of a trader. Why, what do you have in mind?

oh i was under the impression it was one large single buy

just trying to get an idea of what a purchase like that does to the price

Nope its a trap the bottom is 340 it will bounce from that wait some more time. because if it brake 340 hell then !

well fook now everyone is going to  sell to 350, and a few panic sells after that will break 340

we are doomed!

Well i think if panic selling start (i hope not) we will see $300 max somewhere there bulls awaits.

if we breach the "bottom" of 340 or so, doesn't that mean that miners no longer have an incentive to run the network?  I don't see how the whole thing would be allowed to collapse in on itself...the processing power of the Bitcoin network alone is tangibly valuable.

On the whole, I think the price is destined for the toilet. That said, you have to go long. Not only are there a lot of shorts to burn, but there are a lot of shorts who are paying 73% annual interest (obviously, they'll only hold it open for a few days), plus transaction fees, plus about a half percent slippage on the spread... it's simply too expensive to short. Assuming people aren't complete morons, that means no leveraged sell pressure.

It's just too easy. It's free money at this price.

are you talking about loaning out btc?
