The funny thing is that this means nothing. A lot can (and will) happen in the next 30 days.

Was $9K the top for a while? Kind of an ugly failure.....and now price has melted back into the previous range. Never a good sign. Maybe it's time to go back to $6K like masterluc was predicting.

Although the timing is not great for my plans, a small correction for refueling is normal.
No need for getting negative because of this. We'll see more "halts" like this until the next ATH, whether it'll be 50k, 100k or more.
The 6k sounds low though. I would not like that. (Although everything is possible.)

It has fallen to 8k Thursday too and returned to ~8700. I'll stay optimistic it'll get back there easily.

The Libra protocol does not link accounts to a real-world identity.

Right. It links Libra accounts to FB accounts* which, if they don't have your real world identity have a great chance to get closed.
So for you and me it will be "pseudo-anonymous". For the others who pay (or get around) for the data... oh well...

* From what I know, they said that with Libra you'll be able to pay from FB account to FB account.

In Europe it's not as widely spread as in the States. Give it a little more time. LN could make the things easy and fast; if not other companies enter the BTC payment processing field too.

One of the fondest memories is playing Monkey Island II with only 14 (fourteen) floppy disk to swap bask and forth, with that ba*stard faulty 7th disk that crashed every time.

I remember I've asked all friends' floppy disks to transfer NetQ Rally from somewhere. Iirc it was about 100MB. Of course, some of the disks have failed, but I was careful enough and I asked the guy I got it from to keep the archives for a couple of days until I am sure.

Last time I've had a 1.44 floppy in hand was a few years ago, somebody gave it to me to look at the sun for a (partial) eclipse (!).

And about Vodka - I've seen that in Ukrainian it's "horilka". No. Bad translation imho.
In Romania, I've drank horinka: it's basically a different name for palinka and it's clearly not Vodka. Palinka (horinka) is double-distilled fruit brandy, usually 48-58% alcohol, vodka is distilled from cereals with only some 40% alcohol.

I've got a bottle of palinca de pruna from Emil Florescu - Comuna Cuca - Jud Arges which I still haven't tried.  I bought it for all of the medical benefits listed on their brochure - a balm for the heart - is what really sold me on it Wink

All good spirits are a balm for the heart  Wink

I had to search on the internet for this product, that region doesn't really have a tradition in making palinca. Palinka is a Hungarian word after all and Arges county was not under Habsburg empire. (And there are quite some tricks to make it strong without destroying its taste, I don't know if this guy knows them or not.) The regions with real tradition and known for good palinca are Salaj county, Bihor county and Maramures county.

I've drank maybe over 100x more palinca than vodka in my life and unfortunately there are too many vendors that sell crap  Sad just because 75% of the buyers don't drink it or just cannot feel the taste anyway because of the high alcohol content. Also some just sell weaker drink (tuica) as palinca.
However, whenever you decide to drink it, let me know how it was. I hope it is indeed a balm for the heart.

Edit:

Yes, they do! They combine best the taste and the strength.

Quote from: xhomerx10 on October 09, 2019, 11:27:13 PM
The gifted alcohol is always in some sort of recycled plastic bottle; as you know Romanians don't like to waste anything.  I decant it into glass once I get home so I can save it for a long time.

Yes, please move it into glass bottle as soon as you can. If kept too long in plastic, the spirits can get some (bad) taste from it.

Quote from: xhomerx10 on October 09, 2019, 11:27:13 PM
So the alcohol uncle gave me I labelled "tuica" but it might actually be palinca.  The tuica from Emil Florescu was actually purchased in a glass bottle covered in raffia with a label attached and for sure it's tuica.  I might open it this year with our Thanksgiving dinner - I'll certainly let you know how it tasted.

Actually there's a good chance they're both palinca, although I expect the one from Zalau be stronger.
At least on the website Emil Florescu tells that he makes palinca, stating clearly that it's double-distilled.

Edit: PS. Those from my image were glass bottles. Recycled indeed, but certainly glass.

Something may have change: some people's expectations (and dreams). But they are too fluid to be measured correctly, however, those may have (partly) caused some of the price / trend changes.

It was explained to me nicely that even a dip to 6000$ levels is to be expected sooner or later.

I'm not sure that's the best use for NAS. I use at home a NAS as media server and keep everything backed up onto portable HDDs I only update now and then.
Unless you have a smarter NAS where you do HDD mirroring or even better RAID setup, I think that portable HDDs can be a better backup.

So i followed that interesting conversation today...

Two medium educated men, proud of their 5%pa investments (stock market or fonds based, excluding inflation loss), were talking about bitcoin.
They said buying btc at the time would be dumb, because if you aren't an early adopter, it's just a ponzi.
Also, that if governments don't take measures against "this ponzi", they must be either holding OR they have no control over bitcoin.

Don't get me wrong, i would enjoy being simple minded like these two, but then i would also probably fomo all-in right before the next ATH (2022 probably?).
At that time, they might even ask me if i heard about bitcoin, and that i should sell my house to buy btc)

It's somewhat entertaining to find out it's ponzi only if you are not an early adopter. Grin

And yes, they are the majority in the world, we are just a small and strange(!) minority.

ESR stands for extended support release (had to google it).
From your post, apparently "ESR" is synonymous with mobile for the purpose of ordinary users.
That's one more thing left unstated in the advisories.
What is is with technical writers?
Especially in a case such as this, they need to be aware of the audience.  What the audience knows (not much), and what the audience doesn't know (mostly everything).

I have read that post I've linked, I've checked my mobile version, I've seen that it's 68.4.1 and I didn't check further.
I think that they may be expecting mobile users keep automated updates on.
Of course, assuming anything about the users is plain wrong.

I think that you should have been asking this in the altcoin speculation area.
Yes, some altcoins were lately recovering nicely and the numbers show that. This may mean a lot or may mean nothing, since we are mostly focused here on Bitcoin and I didn't see proper TA for the major worthy altcoins.
I think that altcoin season (constant bigger gains than Bitcoin) may be sooner than 3 years though. It may depend (or not) on when Bitcoin surpasses 20k and how long the good side of the market cycle will last.
Since money is comeing back into Bitcoin, it's not unexpected that some altcoins get their share too. But I am not convinced we are close to altcoin season. One flower doesn't make it spring.

If it would fall under 9000 I may be a bit uneasy, but for now the numbers still look good.

sure, does not look fake at all  Roll Eyes It's really hard to filter out facts in these days.
There are some forces who like to play this event down and others who are trying to spread panic. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, they are .. doing what? Airing the infected phones to spread the virus? Makes sense.
Or it would make more sense it's something completely different, unrelated to the virus.

The Chinese government may easily cremate 1000s of people just because they don't agree their politics or to hide the real damage of the virus, but that movie doesn't prove anything.

they have more bullets available.

We have to have more patience than them. The bullets will deplete eventually.

This dip came perfectly for me. Now it can go back to 10k+, I don't mind.

I'm sometimes really starting to dislike human behavior overall  Undecided

There are a huge variety of humans, from smart, nice and common sense ones to blatant idiots. You know that. Don't let the scourges affect your overall feelings, you are better than that.

to invest in bitcoin for him in early March, which turned out to be awful timing

If the idea is there already that there is a vaccin is already enough, alright later on the virus will mutate, but now when it’s contained they will keep working for new vaccines and not like when SARS was contained to stop working on it...

There are the mutations, there are the anti-vaccinists, there are careless people (always!) so I'd be also highly focused on the development of antiviral drugs designed to cure/kill this nasty little thing.

So you should invest more now, to lower your break even point.

Easy to say, but I won't have funds to invest for at least one more month  Undecided

China seems to be back on track.

Yep, China is getting back to normal. The top problems are in Europe now (+Iran and S.Korea). US seem to be "catching up" too (in a bad way).

Yeah sure, let's bailout the airlines again... ugh  Roll Eyes

They'll print shitloads of money and bailout a ton of companies. I expect all of them cry like babies sooner or later, or simply tell they have to sack most of their employees if they get no help (so the upper management can keep the huge benefits). It has happened before, now it should come easier.

Makes no sense.

I'm still working. You're welcome.

Yep, me too.
Home office was never this hard since the kids are also at home 24/7.
