This thread is much more readable sans Fonzie and Mah posting pictures of graveyards every 10 seconds.
It is tough gauging the current market sentiment right now. Since those 2 are not trolling uncontrollably I think its bullish for the time being.

Bear traps are gonna happen, but I feel today we'll be near 700.
There's no way it'll reach 700 because the 3 day emas are are $615 and $666. This will be a congestion zone which will not be broken until 3 day MACD is up. Until then $666 will be this evil resistance. It could go sideways for weeks.
God, please tell me you got your cheap coins and will stop your non stop we're going down bs. I guess not, right. We go up a few dollars and you're already starting. This probably means you missed the train AGAIN and now will annoy everyone with daily posts how we're going down because your TA says so.
I might have to put you on ignore if that's the case. Let me know.

Sifting through all the negative crap not only in this thread but on this board is becoming more frequent every day. Why do so many come and post FUD and bubble graphs if they see no future in the technology? Are people that bored or just bitter that they weren't involved sooner?

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or Finra, on Tuesday issued an investor alert on bitcoin, saying digital currencies are "more than a bit risky." The agency said the alert was intended to caution investors about the risks inherent in buying and using digital currencies like bitcoin. That includes risks from speculative trading and potential fraud related to bitcoin companies, the alert said. The move came after the collapse of the bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox in late February, which filed for bankruptcy in Japan and the U.S. said it lost customers' bitcoins. "Digital currency such as bitcoin is not legal tender," the Finra alert said, which also warned about the lack of safeguards in place for consumers, the irreversibility of bitcoin transactions, and its association with illegal activities.

Everyone here are also aware that most of the bitcoins are owned by anonymous people, who in all probability and considering the history, are drug dealers, computer crackers or confidence man. By trusting your wealth in bitcoin, you are trusting that this criminal element won't dump their coins to acquire your wealth as their own.
Why do you post here?

To balance things out. Yeah, when a group of smokers like to cheer to each other, how good smoking is for their health, then I'm exactly the guy who cuts in and recommends to have at least minimal grip on reality.
That's my point, you act like people aren't aware of the risks already. Go run along and do something else.

There has to be a counterbalance to all the cultish posts of the always-bullish people who think that prices are always going straight to the moon tomorrow regardless of any and all TA and that every unfavorable event is always made up.
It was us cultists who kept this project alive when it dropped from $32 to $3 and stayed there for a year. The fraction of investors like me who will willingly go down with the ship are the support base that gives BTC what some call "intrinsic" value. Without us, this really would be a Ponzi Scheme. Contributing to positive change in the world is just as important as ROI.
Well put.

It was the cultists who kept the project alive, not the developers?
It really doesn't matter if the price goes down to 3$ or 0,3$, what matters is the general utility of bitcoin. The price matters to those who want to get rich with speculation. Sadly bitcoin is built in a way that is extremely attractive to speculation. A coin, that is more about utility then speculation, will actually create a positive change in the world. To tell, that your plans of getting rich by speculation, is bringing positive change to the world, is high level of self-righteousness.
No one would suggest that developers aren't the drivers of the technology. But supporters play a key role as well in spreading a positive influence on the technology and it's potential.
If the goal is to increase adoption, then supporters, regardless of price, will help increase that over people who are constantly bashing it and spreading FUD to benefit their own position.
Then there are people who just come across as obnoxious regardless of their position. They show little respect for others in their posts.

We are getting to the point where I can't even feel bad for anyone greedy enough to wait for lower prices. I'm about 85% in, just about ready to go all in. The thing that makes me laugh is how some posters like to pat themselves on the back for being right. "We are going down" is a really difficult prediction when charts have shown a 3+ month decline. And then as soon as it reverses it will be " I said we were going down I just missed by how much" while they make "we are going to go higher" predictions during the uptrend.
I love people who just admit "I should stop daytrading I suck" and "it's too risky for me to trade " because they are honest answers. Charts can show whatever you want them to show, although it's fun to speculate.

I'm actually impressed by the overall lack of panic the market showed with this news. Don't get me wrong, lower lows are still of high probability, but I think it's safe to say the market was prepared for this news.
Also, I think for all the people asking where the big wall street/investments are coming from, why would there be any big player investments with this going on? Chinese speculators will be trading right up until the drop dead date so why just give your money away to them when you can wait until they are out of the picture entirely..

The price is dropping more with less volume, meaning that people are pulling their bids. It shows that the price dropped 30$ in 4h with just 11.4k btc volume.
It now seems that when the critical point is reached and the grand finale of this downtrend begins, then the price will go lower then even I predicted. It may actually stay in double digits.
Still waiting for the grand finale, but sadly it probably won't happen soon. There are still some fools left who are buying up this dumping, and until they exist, we will only see gradual slow dumps.
Every word you say oozes "i am short, please dear God, dump". You should've atleast tried to appear someone neutral.
I sold already in December and I saw that the price will go down from that. Only thing that fools like you caused with your desperate pumping is it made the entire process longer. Meaning that it takes a lot longer then needed until solid bottom is reached and buying back makes any sense.
In other words "everyone should sell until it hits the bottom I want. And then should sell some more when I want an even lower bottom. Then it is ok to pump the price and make me rich. "

I was wrong about the 3220 wall, it was broken with more bullish sentiment than expected. But the chart I posted yesterday is still following the same pattern, just at a slightly higher price than expected. we are in a very similar situation to march 4th / 5th at the moment, and the markets are behaving almost exactly the same.
Not many interested in buying in this uncertain climate, so the best guess I can form is, the same as what happened in march. I think we will settle at around 490 and go sideways again... until the volume goes very low.
All this can change, based on (valid) news or well executed FUD. (possessive or negative).
A simplistic way of looking at the market, yet quite often effective. History repeats itself imho.
So history repeats itself until when? We go to zero?

Well, for a long term investor, it is really better to not check the charts and the forum for a half year, just like I did last year. Because this price movements are really silly

Day traders are dedicated, I give them that much. I track major bubble movements and overall sentiments, but some stuff I read on here is from 24 hour chart watchers who seem to make decisions and start drawing lines with every $5 fluctuation in price. I could never do that. I just hope they are successful enough to make it worth their while, let alone not lose their shirt. Seems like a sad way to spend a majority of one's time, especially with nice weather on the horizon (here in Canada anyways, I am hoping).

Successful day traders provide a vital function. They are the liquidity providers, the decentral bankers of Bitcoin. They reduce volatility by profiting from it. They accomplish this without even intending to, by looking after their own interest.
Key word there is successful though. Like I said if it is enough to make it worth your while, all the best of course. I fear there are less of you than what is actually admitted to as is always the case with "gambling", even educated gambling.
Edit. Back on topic- fluctuation! Resume speculating.

I'm getting too drunk. Don't think i should be handling $50k+ buy orders at this time.
I did what i could. Took this to 680 but there are just too many sellers right now. They just don't get it.
I might give it another try tomorrow.
You shook a lot of weak hands. And entertained me all day at work. I salute you for your efforts good sir.

What's with all the people who bought at $660? The trend was clearly breaking at $460. Why didn't you buy then? You should be up 40% right now and still be up 25% even at the bottom of the upcoming correction. Instead I hear all these sob stories "oh no I bought at $660 after the 50% increase. How am I going to live through the correction in the mid 500s? Woe is me."
All you do is sob.

I know that I'm a trader but I acknowledge that Bitcoin is about much more than trading. Underdog on the other hand, makes posts implying that every other bitcoin participant is a trader so everyone who is selling is doing so out of a weak trading strategy.
Well this is a speculation board after all. Maybe he's writing for those participants who take the time to read through price speculation posts on a message board rather than the "other" bitcoin participants?

Finally I have found
this article embodied in a gif.

THEY say don't quote the troll; however, it seems really strange to have a supposed moderator spreading such FUD (from March 2014). Blitz - you keep posting links to that bullshit FUD article... over and over and over... And your frequent posting of such FUD article does NOT cause the article to become true, when the article is in fact a bunch of bullshit.
I've never seen such a clown of a moderator on any board. He sounds butthurt to me.

Are there still people here who believe this is just "shaking out the weak hands" and that we're about to go to the moon?
Let's call it what it is. Bitcoin is failing. People are getting out. Moving on to other things.
The peak is over. This WAS the bubble you all were waiting for.
There isn't massive user adoption that will raise the price. Companies aren't standing in line to use Bitcoin. Wallstreet isn't dying to get in.
Everybody has been saying that to the point where everyone thought it was true Well it isn't. You've been lied to.
The price won't bounce back. Feel free to give me one valid reason why it should. You can't.
Smart money is getting out. Just like i just did. But i won't go away. I will keep on coming here to see how you fools will post charts every day to show how we are about to go to the moon while in the meantime the price goes down and down.
I will probably laugh as well.
Laugh? You were pumping in big buy orders at $680. Now selling for much less. Who are you to laugh? And interesting how your perspective of Bitcoin does a complete 180 in like 6-8 weeks.

I don't get what the issue is. It's a free market. Buy it, sell it, hold it...do whatever you want with it. Do anything but cry about what it's doing. Market owes you nothing and it's every man for himself. If you believe in the technology hold it and shut your mouth. If you don't like the volatility put your money where your mouth is and trade it. If you don't like either then walk away. But for God's sake, stop crying.
