For months all the idiots here were praying for cheap coins. Every crash was amazing news. Best thing ever.
They expected that as soon as they bought a few "cheap coins" the price would move to 1k again.

Now they found out those days are over and the price isn't going anywhere but down.
People are getting out. There are no big players waiting to get in. There is no Wallstreet. There is no secret accumulation. It all turned out complete bs.

Bitcoin is dying. The party is over. The only thing it's good for are daily pump and dumps.

Nobody in real life is interested in Bitcoin. Apple pay did in a short time what Bitcoin couldn't achieve in years.
Unless you want to send money overseas and often there is no reason to use Bitcoin.
Average Joe doesn't give a shit about fees or decentralization and all the other Bitcoin selling points.

It's over.

This is the ugly truth. I don't like to admit it to myself but sometimes you have to give your head a shake and wakeup.

I don't see why anyone should be surprised with falling prices.

What has it been doing all year? Going down.

I remember people saying(this year) we will never see a $600 bitcoin ... then it was $500 .... $400 .... $300.

What's next? $200. Kinda follows the pattern doesn't it?

I sincerely hope it does turnaround but the outlook is gloomy.  Hope for some really big news. Really big news.

3. Post 9308277 (copy this link) (by rokkyroad) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_13.26h):

Another thing.

Early adopters and miners own the marketplace. Those people that bought thousands of coins under $200 are still making huge profits dumping coins. Look at that big $300 sell off a little while ago. Everyone ate those $300 coins up.

Until those cheap coins are gone volatility rules.

I would seriously appreciate the bottom, need to take my life back. Please.

I hear ya.  Is it just me or has anyone else been delaying things until BTC decides to go up in price again?

It is a bit painful.  We are perhaps a little "overinvested" right now.  Sure, we can sell coins right now (not even at a loss of what we paid originally) but it is a horrible time to sell, so we wait, and wait and wait.   Undecided

In the mean time, we could really use a new couch, new carpet, have a zero percent credit card that we are just delaying paying because we don't really want to sell coins and then Christmas is just around the corner.  The kids really want a nice Christmas. Wink  Hopefully we are at least back to $600 by then?  I can hope anyways.

I'm thinking Feb., March for up trend. Cannot see people investing much in btc with Christmas looming. The new year may see more lows with people cashing in btc to pay for the holidays. Who really knows?

I got bad news fellas, Snapcash just beat bitcoin, big time. I would cut your loose as I am sure Snapchat will be the go-to for secure payments across the globe

"Photo messaging site Snapchat has launched a new feature allowing people to send friends money from within its app.

The firm, which was the subject of a recent hack attack in which over 100,000 photos were leaked from the service when a third party client was compromised, has partnered with square for the service.

Once users have registered their debit card, they simply enter a $ sign and the amount into the messaging field - and the payment is sent."

I think I'll pass on Losethecash.

It's hard to say how much the auction will influence the price. Depends who buys and what they get them for. If they get them cheap enough there could be major dumpage for the quick buck. I'm thinkin I missed out on recycling some at $280. Might go down to $240 - 250.

I can picture all those who held coins from the epic pump of 2013 waiting for ROI. Fingers resting on triggers.

All it takes is for some of the big boys to pull triggers and all hell breaks loose.

Sorry to put a damper on the Holiday joy but we need to be realistic. We are on thin ice.

I couldn't be happier with our wonderful Bitcoin. Also vindicated.

I suffered through declining prices in early 2014 when the Chinese government was coming down on btc. Suffered through the Gox fiasco and the resulting declining prices although I lost no funds at Gox.

Suffered through thievery and scam. Vircurex, Mintpal, and Homero got some of my btc.

Suffered eye rolling from my wife. Evaded questions from friends and relatives.

All the time, I never lost faith. Kept buying bitcoin even at the despair level under $300.

Today I'm a hero. My wife showers me with adoration. My friends and relatives look at me with new found respect.

Don't be a loser. Buy bitcoin. When it reaches $10,000 you'll be a hero too.

Not everyone made money, and some folks bet in the wrong direction, so they have more panic.

There are ways to protect your holdings of course, but not everyone is able to carry out a plan that ends up being profitable.

empathy is sometimes needed, even when we are on the internet, because we come from a lot of perspectives and people participate here in part to attempt to figure out different perspectives about a topic that is of interest (BTC price speculation) which are certainly abundant.

I was insensitive. For that I apologize. Bitcoin can be a mean bitch.

i guess that means you altcoiners will get to pick up your altcoins on the cheap?

based on what facts you say this about tonight?

I love the optimism but history tells a different story.  It's hard to revisit highs after a major dump.  "Oh shit ... I missed the moon ... I need to get off this bitch ... I hope it bounces back up so I can recoup losses".

Those who held thinking they were going to get a better price and those who simply bought at the high get scared and pray for a chance to dump their coins. Hopefully to break even or make a small profit. Some are so scared they sell for losses.

History tells us bitcoin will slowly cycle downwards for some time. Believe me, I wish the opposite.

Complicated question... but what are you guys thinking will be the ETF yes/no impact on e.g. Ether? Will there be any?

You best be selling your beloved ether. If the ETF goes through every shitcoin is going to take a nose dive big time. It's all about bitcoin.

Are they waiting till after the markets close because the answer is a 'YES' ? Rejecting the ETF won't affect markets much, but approval just might cause a ripple.

I respectfully disagree.

Be prepared for a substantial price change in either direction. This is bitcoin and huge swings "on the news" are the norm.

So.... what will be the bottom?  Shocked

That is the 21 million dollar question. I've got a buy order waiting for the low $800s but I doubt it will go that low but here's hoping for another flash crash or two.

back in January there were two or three legs down and the first one also got stucked by 1060-1080$ for some hours, before going down to 900$ the day after. Just sayin'

Yep. Dead cat bounces.

So anyone care to explain why this whole BU fork FUD just happens to come up immediately after the ETF disapproval?  Hmmm?

You guys are getting played.  The pumpers ALWAYS come up with a reason to DUMP following an ATH.  If they can't exploit a hole, hack an exchange, or DDoS the shit out of one, they'll find another way.

The new way is pretty simple: social engineering based on emotion.  Make something trivial about Bitcoin into a big deal, create troll/shill accounts to divide the community, push $$$ towards alts and tout them as 'Bitcoin 2.0', and get everyone whipped up in a frenzy.  And short-dump on the way down.

Apparently, 90% of the time it's gonna work every time. Because bitcoiners are a bunch of overgrown whiny babies that can be easily manipulated.

Good post and bang on except for the whiny babies part ... Grin

I'm happily watching from the sidelines waiting for the lows you know are coming. Bitcoin never disappoints.

Looks like the days of big dumps are over. Its up up and away from now on.  Future millionaires we are.

I predicted a return to downturn after we hit $1100. Sure, some short lived dumps - nothing major and btc rages on. Boy, was I wrong.

Good times ahead. Rejoice.

Do you guys still consider ethereum an altcoin?

Ethereum is a coin that has no real world purpose, a supposed solution looking for "future use cases and problems" that don't exist.

Apparently it's current and only reason to exist is to allow the creation and trading of other ICO shitcoins, which in turn also have no real reason to exist.

You can debate with me on that if you want. Let's go down the existential rabbit hole together. You'll find that it's turtles all the way down.

It has done that. A horde of shitcoin ICOs. Just when I thought shitcoins were dying off the king of shitcoins came along and enabled even more shitcoins. It rained freaking shitcoins!

Let's blame etherium. "Internet 2" my ass. All it accomplished was setting a horde of crooked shitcoin tokens on the world. I hated that crap from the getgo for good reason.

I don't see why a male with common sense would get married.

Only guys I know that get married are true betas that worship women.

LOL

Let me guess. You have a hard time meeting women ....right?  It does tend to make one bitter. Buck up laddie ...there's someone out there for you.

If you're female change the laddie to lassie and put /men behind women.

Ride or die mother fucker it'll be like Thelma and Louise, I'll hold your hand off that cliff.

Sent my first Bitstamp wire since 2017.  Starting to put some of my fiat bags at the bottom of the cliff. Mustn’t hurry. Hasten slowly.

Not up on bitstamp news? Deposits and withdrawals suck big time. There is a lot of stamp hate on reddit these days. Took me 6 frackin weeks to get some fiat from those sobs.

I don’t visit Reddit.  How about inbound deposits?  I sent the wire over the weekend so will give it a week to clear and then see what’s up.

I see some sniveling about deposits but withdrawals are a major frackup. Support is painfully slow. Stamp changed payment processing and its not good. I've been with stamp for 5, 6 years and had no trouble till it changed hands in Oct. I hate reddit but stamp does have some support there.

Kraken has a new site design. I don't like it. Feels like some hipster was allowed to remodel, and the email where they talk about it was detected as spam.

I don't know why they are so proud of it. All the internals could use a makeover. I'm trying to get used to it since bitstamp went to hell. I hate change .....gggrrrr
