An extremely early good morning Bitcoinland.
Still sideways... currently $6501USD/$8515CAD (Bitcoinaverage). Nothing new.

Sitting in the airport waiting for my plane. Maybe a few weeks in 30C+ weather will help me shake this cold I've been fighting for the last week or so. Looking forward to 16 lovely new dental implants.
Thank you Bitcoin.
Alcohol usually helps me shake a cold. I remember you had a good drink the last time you arrived in Mexico, so rinsing and repeating the drinking + the good weather should shake that cold fast.
I've heard that shorting bitcoin shakes the cold faster than anything ever invented. Try it.

Dear fellows,
I as "erre" was here from 2013. I was a regular lurker of this thread and a relatively rare poster here, but I think someone could remember me for the bet with proudhon or for some other shitposting. I have some emotional bond with this forum, despite the very low overall quality.
In May 2018 my account was hacked. I have full proof of ownership according to the rules and more, but after an initial response from Cyrus I was not able to make any more contact with him or Theymos.
I made a thread in meta (
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3652698.new#new) which was locked a little time ago, so I made another thread (
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5065918.0), but I'm really getting demotivated now and I rarely post because I feel uncomfortable without my "skin" and my story.
I know that there are a lot of influent/known members writing and lurking here, so since the price is going sideways and there are no walls to observe I really hope that someone could spend some of his time helping me, I need to drag some admin's attention.
Thank you
erre
You'll get your account back, don't worry. As long as you've
this, nobody can steal your account.
If someone of the "weight" of hilariousetc can't make it get done I don't know who could (besides Theymos and Cyrus). He seems to be speaking quite frankly when he says no accounts are being recovered lately even when meeting all requirements. Which is bummer to say the least.
Do we really have no rules/laws here?

Yes. I don’t long in a bear market. It doesn’t pay.
At current level, a good bounce is so obvious. Not sure why would you short at this point. You should've shorted a few hours back or after the current upcoming big green candle.
Anyways, hoping you're not using high leverage.

I never touch alts because I don’t believe in them. And I can make bad decisions if I don’t believe in what I am trading.
I’ve got a stash of XRP, nowhere near as much as my bitcoin HODLINGS but would be nice to see it moon in the future.
I don't see any considerable ecosystem benefits of various shitcoins pumpening, even if my personal holdings might go up because of such pumpenings.
I understand that it is likely inevitable that several shitcoins are going to pump in the coming years, and that is why we cannot have nice things, and at minimum it will take 20 years for a decent portion of the population to recognize the differentiating value in bitcoin, and more realistically it will take longer than 20 years, perhaps approaching 50 years (I will either be dead or close to dead by then, so if I am posting in this thread, then there is some kind of AI going on or my account has been hacked).
There won't be any AI or hacking, son! May Almighty bless you with a few hundred years of life!

Current price is ~$4. Current supply is 709,000 coins. So current market cap is “now” is $2.8 million. Which puts it into the 500s rank on CMC.
Of course it is inflating rapidly with 72,000 coins issued per day. So if it can hold its current price of $4, by the end of 12 months it would have a market cap of ~$124 million. Which would put it slightly ahead of Bitcoin Diamond in rank 40...
My preferred metric is to look at the 3 year supply which values it between Maker and ETC. Which is a top 20 slot. But that 3 year time line also puts us deep into the next bullmarket so who knows.
So I don’t know where $4B valuation comes from, unless you intend to wait 30 years at the current price.
One of the Twitter guys with a quite notable number of followers had tweeted a very good explanation for that $4B number. However, I've spent my 30 minutes searching for his tweet and totally unable to find it. It seems like he deleted it (this makes me believe a little that the explanation was not accurate).
One way or another, I'll definitely show you that tweet!

Oh yes, a completely centralized, non-fungible, government tracking and control system whose only possible endgame evolution will be an almost identical clone of the Chinese social credit score system is such a "revolution"! Why would anyone ever use physical gold and silver when you can have the luxury of being monitored and audited in real-time by the govt like some type of goyim cattle?
OK, so doesn't your government know about how much silver or gold you own? Are you a miner and extract your own gold or silver by digging within your room?

I might have to leave the campaign soon for the WO bro’s.
Actually 0.08
BTC/month is a pretty decent rate. I miss my hat too but camps like these helps me to reduce my acquisition cost which makes me a happier person.

I am already dancing on that thin line with that price $3360. If it goes lower for another $100 I'll start to see red stuff on my portfolio and I hate red.
I want to be as green as this guy below:

People look down on signature campaigns & I do sometimes feel embarrassed that I participate in them but I get paid to post here which I enjoy doing any way so I may as well get paid for it.

Regardless, the whole "learn to code" thing could probably be considered a decent investment in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, but now with full blown global labor arbitrage everywhere, it doesn't seem like that great of a position when you have to compete with people who will work for 1/4th to 1/10th of what you will. The effectiveness of tariffs to stop the work from being outsourced is much lower than other fields too.
Have you looked at the video game industry and whole 'app store' bullshit lately? It's an obvious huge bubble as well. 90% of these game devs are going to be getting the axe or going bankrupt and it will be far more brutal than the old Atari era industry crashes. We are currently at the trough of the commodity super cycle (no, bitcoin is not a real commodity), so people invested in real world goods and industry should be making a killing soon while 'intellectual capital' will probably be taking a major hit.
Of course when I say "industry", I don't mean index stocks where the PE ratio is completely laughable like Amazon and everything else. I mean the rise of commodity prices in general and people who benefit from that like miners and others.
calm down.... maybe the costs are 1/10 in india or 1/6-1/8 in the middle east... but what about the quality? cost for setting up such projects? communications overhead? cultural clashes? and so on and so forth...
maybe u can do some product development like this but integrating complex systems who fits customer needs.... nah... story of cost savings by <near|off>shoring are fairy tales told by the management.
i've seen a lot of projects dying due to missmanagement and wrong beliefs in the posibilities of shoring.
it's like buying a german/japan car or a chinese/US lunchbox

u'll get what u pay for

and please start distinguish between programming, development engineering and integrating... even programming is not everbodies taste... building good, stable, secure, user-friendly systems which are scalable and reliable is much harder
Roach isn't talking much bs today, he does have a point there. The people of poor countries all across the globe are now beginning to master the coding, and the day when they'll have just about good quality as top tier countries' programmers, the situation will be catastrophic for coders from rich countries. Plus the remote setups definitely gives the option of saving a big chunk of budget if you're starting something related to programming.

They have 700 million active internet users out of Billion, think twice

They don't rely on any foreign sites for entertainment-news etc. Following alternatives, sites are on my top of the head, and I am sure if any Chinese is here then he/she can add 100s more alternative.

You use Bitcoin? They use BEEEEEEEEEEEEECAAAAAAAAAAAAASHHH

According to Hired, global demand for blockchain developers increased by 517 per cent over the year.

Th world first needs to define who blockchain engineer really is before jumping into hiring them! Some companies literally call the pure coders as "Blockchain engineers" just because of their ability to write smart contracts. Those coders do not have a clue of cryptography.

I honestly prefer chalkboard, if the chalk is good.
You cannot be a rational or logical person and prefer chalk over whiteboard. There's an inherent dirtiness to chalk. The board represents forward evolution in the form of leveraging the mind in order to create tools that allow a mastery over the environment. The chalk is the antithesis of said phenomenon. It embodies the spirit of a wild plains negro rolling around in the dirt. The environment is defeating you instead.
Roach, stop being a big baby, seriously. Who the hell cares if you like a chalk or a marker or a dick?

A premise: you wake up one day, and nobody knows anything about bitcoin (or any other crypto)...cypherpunk does exist, just no bitcoin..you, however, know as much as you know now.
Similar to "Yesterday" [the movie] premise, which is that all "Beatles" info got somehow erased from the mankind's collective memory with the exception of the main character (I am sure that there might be a twist in the end, though).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uqvgPm8U4cI know that this is impossible, but what would you do?
Is someone here with a knowledge to reconstruct Satoshi's paper?
I am simply curious since I know the general outline, but probably wouldn't be able to properly formulate it.
I think we would have enough to go on (without looking at the paper):
• SHA 256 / Hashing
• Proof of work
• Difficulty retargeting
• 21 million cap, 100 million sats, halving every 4 years
• Miners to bundle transactions from mem pool, blocksize cap
• Blockchain / timechain / merkle trees
• Public key / private key addresses, sign to send
• validate UTXOs as unspent
One thing I don’t understand is how Bitcoin achieves consensus on time
While these do mostly describe bitcoin's protocol and terminology today, not all parts of the list were in the whitepaper.
Notably the blocksize cap, and especially the 21mil cap.
Idiots who use the whitepaper as a bible may yet pounce on this latter just as they pounced on the blocksize element.
Satoshi could've really made a very complex whitepaper, but it's interesting that he chose to keep it extremely simple by not including any difficult stuff.
Why did he do that?

7300$

Any predictions where the price will stop growing?

Investors will fall to the FOMO soon.
No, but a pullback to 6200 would be very likely in the medium term, in order to test support. That gives a 15% edge from here, to increase a traders stash.
Of course could go higher than $7300, but the low 6k's will need a test of some kind, sometime. A quick look at the chart shows how much work was done with 6k as a base.
This run is in a very short timeframe.
Thanks for the clear explanation. So in the short term, we will go back to the $6300 again?
Most are missing a point. Remember, there was almost no test of support in 2017 bull run. If we're in a serious bull run (powered by some nice events like ETF approval), forget the corrections.
