Bagholder of the year?

More like Understater of the Year.  In 3 years time, I think you could potentially add an extra zero to his price projection

About the rally itself: I kinda feel that this was orchestrated by a single entity, probably in order to induce a short squeeze. I doubt very much that this was "organic" buying by people who suddenly all decided to buy in unison. Or maybe I'm wrong and it was caused by a bunch of people buying because of the paypal news, but I doubt it...

The rally that started May 20 too consisted of a few episodes of intense buying, 1-2 hour long, that drove the price up  by ~50$ each time; separated by "organic-looking" periods where the price just wandered about, often with a downward trend.

Could this rally be the  first of another (mini-)bubble like that?

As i said many times in the past (since 2011 bubble), we will have at least 5 bubbles during the price discovery process. So far we had only 3 bubbles, so we got a few more bubbles. During this process, the bitcoin network adoption/development will grow tens folds.

Notice all the idiotic bears in this forum are all registered after the last bubble? 2013 earliest?

I'd say we have at least 3 more arc cycles before optimal price discovery.  Possibly 4.  Of course, if one ore two of those arc cycles go more parabolic than usual than who knows

So the ATH in new members was 45,800 new members added in March 2014?  That's interesting.  It suggests a delayed reaction in mass consciousness between a price peak (December) and making the decision to become actively involved in the discussion...

I my case it was about half a year, from just before the January-June 2013 bubble until I joined in June 2013.

Good to know.  And it makes sense.  I've been following bitcoin since before brotherjohnf split off his bitcoin channel from his silver updates.  Of course the November/December peak made me realize that it was indeed going to happen.  I registered on here after new years

Good lord, are we ever going to find the fkn bottom of this market?  Or just continue to slide $10/week ad infinum?

Unbelievable this crap.

Why is this so unbelievable?
I dont understand why people are so surprised about that. BTCUSD is down about 70% from its high. It is a bear market.

It's always better to follow unbiased technical chart analysis versus letting your emotions "bitcoin love" guide your investment or trading.

I love bitcoin , too. But I have 0 bitcoins right now.

I have to call you out on this.  You have zero bitcoins?  Yet you love Bitcoin?  Sorry I don't buy it.  Anyone who actually loves bitcoin understands bitcoin.  Anyone who understands bitcoin knows that you can't always trust technical analysis due to unforeseen events. Even if you were a perfect chart analyst I don't buy it.

If there is an unforeseen event he'll have time to buy back in. Risk/reward.

"Time to buy back in" is highly subjective.  With bitcoin's moves, you could lose 20% in only an hour's time.

I just picked up a little more BTC, I seriously can't help myself at these prices.   I feel like they are at such a steep discount right now.   Each time I buy, I am like "ok, now I am good with my holdings..." then a few days later, I want to have like 5BTC more, or 10BTC more.

I now need about 9.5BTC more to get to where I want to be...

I guess it just depends on what happens from this point on?  Cheesy

Indeed.

My feeling is that true capitulation was achieved and while we may see one last dip below $300, the trend has turned.

Last night's 30k wall was an expensive way to slow what might have been a dramatic correction on reversal.

I feel strongly enough about this that I bought another 3 coins this morning despite having joked with some dude at Decentral on Saturday about having spent my weekly Bitcoin allowance on that day's 2 coin purchase.

Proud to say I was buying through that wall!

first hes not the CEO.
his opinion carries a lot of weight because he's a core dev and knows the system better than anyone. that is all.
this issues has been discussed at length for a long time.
it boils down to poeple saying NO because they want to make some noise...
I can only hope he can get consensus on this, he's got my vote! if not i would say "fork it and let those who disagree get left behind, THIS IS BITCOIN!"

Since i've been here...

Not a single bull has ever told me why Bitcoin is worth $210 -$1000, $100k and not $30-70$ like it should, yet i'm the one who's considered a troll LMFAO. The stupid fucks watched so many graphs that they forgot that the price is driven by people and their reaction to the technology and not by the lines presented on a chart and some fancy trends posted by delusional amateur traders that were born post "The Wolf of Wall Street". We are not in the past where the MtGox bots were pumping out Bitcoin like lunatics.

Go outside of your pussified geeky world and ask people if they give a shit about bitcoin. Ask them and then you will see the real truth. What you got here is a technology that's failing to take advantage of the power that the internet has to offer, in case you want to talk about a mass adoption situation. That alone should tell you a more realistic price.

Good Luck guys. Never Fomo trade if you missed it there will be another day with better opportunities to find good trades.

That chart analysis talks about leveraged shorting as the reason why this recent rally didn't go up to $1200 and why it's going down from here.  Do we not also have leveraged long trades now too lol?  I'm not understanding this point at all.
I can't predict what direction we go from here.  But I will predict that there's not going to be much more time spent under the $300s.  If we revisit those levels at all, it will be brief IMHO

40. Post 15323730 (copy this link) (by jaredboice) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.54h):

If you believe that the Bitcoin market tends to be fractal and you compare the previous bull/bear cycle to this one, it's apparent that prior to the nov 2013 run-up to $1,000+, there were several bear traps on the way up.  If this is a fractal, this particular correction looks visually similar to the correction around $150 or the one at $200 in November 2013.  If that were the case, buying in now (around $620-ish) likely wouldn't be a bad entry point as long as you can wait out the volatility for 2-3 months.  While it could go lower, I wouldn't expect it to stay there for long.  That's my best guess.  But I do believe that we are in a bull market now and that there is therefore more upside potential than downside risk at this point in the cycle.
