What's going on? I'm afraid what'll happen the coming week. It's Sunday, so do you think we might see another Sunday night rise/pump or are we in for a Monday-Monday-Manic-Crash? Where are our long-term support lines we're supposed to bounce of now?

Personally I think we are in for an interesting week - mid term decision time is nearly upon us...

Yeah, I don't know if I should be excited or frightened. But when things got tough in this recovery phase, everything actually went pretty well! But I can't say I'm not afraid... It's nerve-wrecking! Cheesy

If we get to 750 and there is some serious volume then I will be all eyes and ears

If we go to 435 I will also be all eyes and ears.

At this stage I am hiding behind the sofa- I almost cannot watch...

Ha, I know that feeling! It's practically the same with me! So scary! I really don't want to see the 500s again, but am quite prepared that we might dip in them once again. Maybe as some kind of launch-signal for the next bubble-buildup. But I'm not especially pessimistic either, we've seen the rapid growths in May out-of-the-blue rises in the last weeks, as well. The general majority just needs to forget about the bubble, so it can actually happen!

Hey, we have a 2 hr high. Not ATH, but it is something.

We're on our way up the $5-10 corridor now, only to bounce back after we reach $629 I guess. Although it is Sunday night so we might see some surprise rallye. Prepare for another week of uncertainty in Bitcoinland :/

When's this magical day? 24th of July? I think nothing interesting is going to happen until Sept to be honest.

Yawn.

I don't really know and actually highly doubt that there's a universally accepted magical date set in stone. A lot of people actually believe a decision could be made 'any day now' for a couple of weeks. So where are everybody's charts with long term trend lines and support thresholds? Smiley

So we're rebounding? Can't really believe that. We actually need to crash a bit more! Total desparation. Yeah, this may be a dead cat bounce!

So it's the second support? Or are we going through that as well? If that happens we've lost, right?

i put 2 lines as a best guess for rock bottom prices, given the assumption that we are eventually going up

we are bouncing off the low end of the floor

should we break through and close below the floor, without considerably higher vol then we have been seeing...

we are pretty much guaranteed to go much lower and fast.

If we go below 400 we might trigger another change in ShroomsKit, who may become a bull again. Or go completely crazy! He should have a BullBear for his avatar, rather than this dogeon!

So the day closes at a calm and nice 0% change. Well, the rocket didn't lift up today, but that doesn't mean the rocket launch has been cancelled. It's merely postponed, when the rocket has even more fuel accumulated!!!

Big Step!  Grin

Could you elaborate on the importance? People not located in the US don't exactly get what they do and what this may mean for Bitcoin, I guess. Is this rise back really a reaction on those news. I guess no one knows.

Wow... Okay, that indeed does sound great! So they are some kind of FIAT-BitPay, so to say? By teaming up with a Bitcoin-to-FIAT service provider, they basically broaden their services to Bitcoin, right?

Wow, that's some massive attack on $580 going on at Stamp. Someone seems to be grateful to have an opportunity selling off their stash, it seems! I guess we'll drip down into the $570s...

Wow, really? I kind of fail to see the positive side of that, but something's gotta happen, I guess. Also, at least we don't have the rebound-up and then fall hard fractal we had on our way down from November till April anymore...

We've seen some interesting volume today, didn't we?!
It actually did go up! You can even see it on the 6m graphs now. Even after the mini-rallye was finished, there was some volume going on. It's almost like someone put the volume-button back to 'on'. We'll have to see whether this trend remains, though!

That was quite a surprising dip right there! It's incredible how the price recovered instantly. It's the biggest volume bar all day long... No other exchanges really followed. Good, stability!

What happened to the bitcoins at mtgox? Did anybody get anything back?

Is there a thread somewhere on the site people are discussing it?

Investigation is still going on. More info can be found here: http://www.reddit.com/r/mtgoxinsolvency/

Thank you, should I get my hopes up for my 18.47 bitcoins? Or should I just cry my poor sorry student ass to sleep Cry
18.47 bitcoins is not poor.
You will become extremely wealthy if you keep them

I guess he just said that they're 'stuck' on Mt. Gox, so there's that... Saying that 18.47 BTC are a lot doesn't help him, quite the contrary!

people with one coin will soon enough be consider a whale.. ^^

then what will the current whales be considered? Moons?

well, theoretically, they would reach their cashing-out bearing point and hence be a bit more diluted (except for the large corps/funds/etc that will emerge) before we are all whales. Cheesy

Sometimes I wish I fell into a coma for 5-10 years, only to awake, with all my Bitcoins still there and accessible and then finding out that the price is at $60000... This would be so freaking awesome. Then again, it will be difficult dealing with all that lost time... But... $60000!!!!!!!

Set to: Capitalization (USD), Stacked.

USD on Bitstamp's Gateway appears to be shrinking. Same thing happening to Bitcoin's bid sum on the exchange. Bitstamp is dying and not likely to fuel the next rally.

Now, look at the growing USD on SnapSwap's Gateway. Also: http://blog.snapswap.vc/2014/08/instant-deposit-from-major-us-banks.html

XRP to the moon!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Do you just think that Stamp is simply drying up, i.e. losing volume, or do you also believe that it may go gox? There's a big difference.

It's simply bottom-fishing at this point. The whole market wasn't ready to go up again. People haven't decided it's over yet, and thus the price stagnated. They waited. Now, we're looking for another bottom. Simple as that. Good opportunity to buy coins! That phrase usually is a platitude, but holds true now!

I think (not sure yet) that there is a good chance that we will see double digits before we go up again (reversal).

No, at least not a 'real' price in the double digits! This would be much too cheap. People are greedy and much too willing to buy at higher prices, so the price won't dip that low. No way!

Why has the price stalled?

Buyers out of ammo?

I think we just need more time.

Naaah, well, FIAT needs to arrive at Stamp, Finex, etc. first! It will be interesting, we're now at a point where it will be decided if we go back down, or continue the uptrend!

At this moment it could again go either way. I'm totally not  convinced that we're about to enter a bull-market, but if we really don't go down any further, we might see a weird but bullish consolidation. Just like after every bubble-low essentially!

nice buy on stamp

and dump before it

Well, the slipping down to $374 made me dread another big dumping down into the $360s or $350s, but this really looks rather optimistic now. I wonder if this is sustainable growth, or just another slow train that falls down at some point.

That's a lot of bitcoins...

Not that many days destroyed, though! Most of the inputs seem to be a month old - tops. Doesn't seem like an individual preparing to sell their coins mined in 2011 or something. We would've seen a reaction of the market by now if this was really that significant!

Yeah that dump was insane! Mezmerized that this thread wasn't glowing already minutes after it happened. Well, I really don't know what to make of the auction, to be honest... It may be a very good opportunity for Draper to lower his average price per Bitcoin, sure. But I also bet he's kinda bummed having payed that much more back in Summer (probably).

I might be dumbing this a bit too much down for myself, but I am just happy somebody wants to buy a huge amount of coins around the current price, rather than short Bitcoin to oblivion. If this is Tim Draper, so be it. But I wouldn't mind if someone new came in heavy and wanted to protect their investments by slaying future bearwhales.

I was mainly speculating that he could lower his average price by buying some Bitcoin at the current market prices - no need to even short anything or push the price down Smiley But it totally depends on what he intends to do with the coins. It's his plan, after all!

Phew, I gotta say the walls on Stamp are pretty strong, at least given the current volume across the exchanges. I wonder how this plays out. At least it's a Friday without serious dumps (at least up to now). Let's see how the USMS auction affects things from now on...

Price seems to be going down a bit now. But I don't think this is going to end in another flash crash. And even if we should go down as much as last night, it will only show the resilience Bitcoin has managed to gain over the past weeks!
