Somehow these funds going to altcoins are preventing the btc price to rise. They probably are waiting for the consensus as well before they inject funds into btc.

some serious altpumping going on at btc38

Wow Earthcoin? they must've made a mistake as it should be Etherium. Both have ETH though.

It's not dead but it seems the price can't go far on either directions.

I bought at 380 thinking it would only go up, and you know what? I hate being wrong ><

The common traders emotion, "Why does the price always go down after I buy and goes up right after I sell". Well we just need to wait for a little while for the price to push around the $390 mark again.

True, but I see only a lowering trend and it's bothering me a lot  Grin

Unless the blockchain issue gets resolved or some big news that will make everyone to jump back in there's not enough push for the price to recover.

It seems there's a bit of a rally going on and hoping that it pushes through going back to the $400 area.

Aren't we stuck in this price range for the past several weeks now while ETH has been going leaps and bounds, waiting for the dumpers though so they can move back to bitcoin Smiley

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM!!!!

That's the 380$ for you baby <3

Ok now the 400 next stop: Grin

Yes, $400 is quite elusive these past few weeks. I hope once it reach $400, it'll stay a bit longer so make it a new floor.

We could still make some push, there are so much USD into the buy orders at the moment.

I don't necessarily disagree with you that there will be people that want more than 21m coins.

An argument like that will never be presented "we want more coins and high inflation for the lolz".

It will be presented as "we want cheap txs".... Arguments like "People want cheap txs, who are you to stop that".... Populist bullshit like "bigger blocks" and the "dangers" of "fullblockalypse".

There is no comparison between a hard fork to raise the blocksize and a hard fork to increase the 21 milion cap on supply. The former is a minor property that almost everyone agrees will need to be changed at some point. I owned Bitcoins for years before I even know there was a max blocksize.  I knew of the 21 MM limit before I bought my first coin.

A slippery slope argument is a logical fallacy.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slope

Dude increasing the 21 M limit and increasing the block size is the same thing.

What? Whaaaaaat?
I'm clearly not aware of that! What are you talking about? What's the link between block size and coins cap?

It is called instigating a _precedent_, changing a protocol parameter such as the 21M limit is 1 line of code, just like the blocksize limit.

Anyway, glad to see that such governance coup is impossible and that nobody, not even core can do anything about it.

Ah ok what he means is not that block size would mean more than 21millions coins but just that both are an important part of btc that shouldn't be changed.

So what do you do about the increasing adoption then? You just stop people from using btc?

Bitcoin will still be there and usable only that it will stop from increasing in volume. Usability wise, bitcoin is not being used in a major way yet. Most of the coins are kept and simply traded with USD/BTC. The increase in demand while the supply is not will make the bitcoin price go up but that won't happen in the near future yet so there are so many things that could still happen.

All we have to do now is to ride the wave as the price seems to continue to rise slowly but surely this time around. Hope that there'll be no dramas that will bring the price back to below $400.

12. Post 13950174 (copy this link) (by Dekker3D) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.45h):

So it's either it'll get to 450 or send back to 370. Let's see how it'll go this time. Fasten your seatbelts Smiley

BTC price is going strong still despite of the sell orders that was triggered when it hit the $450 mark. Lets all hope that there'll be a new floor brought to us by the 'consensus'.

Too bad there were a lot of 'Buy' recommendations few days ago. I moved mine to ETH but ETH didn't move much as well so my USD value stayed the same.

We're now in a sideways market again until a whale decides to pump the price back up to $450 only to meet the tons of Sell Orders there. t seems though the FIAT is heading ETH way for now.

And again after few more years, another issue like this will re-surface so we're going to argue about raising the blockchain again to 8MB.

17. Post 14806315 (copy this link) (by Dekker3D) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.50h):

But there will be a lot of sell walls that will prevent further price increase so an effort buying will be needed.

It will be a rollercoaster ride I must say and you need to know how to ride the wave to get the most out of the price swings brought by believers and profit takers.

Huh around BTC4k sell order on Finex and market barely moved maybe something is afoot

A lot of people are trying to accumulate as well due to the upcoming halving so those sell orders will simply be eaten in no time.

20. Post 14896946 (copy this link) (by Dekker3D) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.50h):

The recent price decrease are due to profiteers when the price hit the 460 area plus again ETH is gaining some price hike so some investors might be there. But as we get closer to the halving, it's safe to say that the BTC price will increase again as people try to put as much BTC as possible to wait for the price hike brought by halving.

21. Post 14988054 (copy this link) (by Dekker3D) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_14.51h):

There are a lot of people though selling their BTC thinking that this is quite a good price to sell. So BTC price might get to 450 during the weekends.

There aren't any and there won't be any time soon. Most of these rice cooking people don't even have enough money to buy a feature phone. They sure as hell won't need bitcoins, at least not at the moment. Why would rice cooking people need bitcoin for anyways? They have cash.

They usually accept dollars / euros if you give them ... I'm pretty sure if More's law keeps the past 40 years trend going, the processing power will make bitcoin physical transaction mechanics less off-putting and more appealing! ... or wait till someone makes and integrates an OS for phones with their cumulative processing power to make transactions almost instantaneous everywhere depending on the number of phones per square kilometer/mile!

That or people start looking at bitcoin alternatives that won't require those advancements just for bitcoin to work.

I never thought the price will go 700 USD as early as today. Miners will definitely be on a good profit until halving comes.

How many Sell orders will there be after halving. Most will wait for the price to hike then sell their bitcoins right after.
