Chinese still playing this market like a fiddle

still seems insane to me that we are at these levels considering everything that has happened this past week.  would feel much more comfortable if we stabilized lower and consolidated for some time before moving back up and testing new highs in 2014

The only thing I have consistently seen here is when the crowd tips one way, Bitcoin is quite happy to go the other.

With everyone expecting cheap coins - no-one is going to bash the market down just to watch their coins being gobbled up.

I still have a little fiat, but I am beginning to wonder if the low buys I have set up will be filled.

Just wait for more bad news from China.  Anyone who thinks this story is over is deluding themselves.

I love the amount of confidence from some people. A lot of time travelers lurking in speculation forums.

That's why it's called the speculation forum and I'm speculating that bad news out of China isn't finished yet.

I can't let go of the idea that Huobi is treading on very shaky ground with their workaround.

Am I wrong to believe that what the owner is doing is dubious at best and otherwise potentially illegal?  I imagine he has found a vague loophole that would allow him some legal wiggle room should he be pressed.

I completely agree.  Huobi, BTC38, and FXBTC are treading in dangerous waters.  I can't see the government allowing these exchanges to continue for long.  I expect they will move soon and either shutdown these exchanges or cut off current funding options. I imagine it's a matter of when not if.

It remains to be seen the market reaction after the fallout, but I'd expect to fall back down to 500 or so.

It will also be interesting how the government will handle the voucher system that BTCChina has implemented.  I wonder if OKcoin and BTCChina will receive favorable treatment as they seem to be the only exchanges that have really followed along with the governments demands.

Imagine someone with deep pockets, decides that the lowest price is now $900 (Gox), they soak up all the sells into that price and refuse to let it sink much below, obviously they want cheaper coins and they aren'y stupid so they reduce risk of a massive dump by using bots and no big walls.

This leaves a whole load of people who expected a crash over the last few days wanting their coins back, I think everyone who sold recently was trading and not cashing out, but they are going to take a hair cut when buying back in.
The support at $885-$900 was persistent, calculated and looks well funded, They must have bought 1000's of coins over the past couple of weeks.
So now the manipulator slowly increases the price until the rally takes off, and the bears capitulate.

Perhaps the TA people are being played, new players are moving in to bitcoin with large funds.

Who knows what's going on.  I really thought the downtrend would continue due to the overhanging China issue.  Maybe we'll see a huge rally into the 31st and it will have been FUD news all along.

What is the direct source for the potential China 31st news anyway?  Was it a direct translation from the PBOC Press Release?

Agreed, I don't believe anything these jokers here say.  Nothing but verbal diarrhea in order to justify past decisions or else attempt to manipulate others for future gains.

Who gives a shit about China.

By the time summer rolls around and regulated U.S. exchanges have started operation China will be a distant memory.

Can someone clue me in here...

Is this just another pump led by the Chinese? or is this news driven?

From my understanding, some of the banks still have not issued deposit closure to the Chinese exchanges, but will at some point.

On the bright side, ripple labs has not yet been accused of transporting minor boys across state lines for the purpose of sex.

Everybody should know that terrorism, pedophilia, drugs and money laundering are the crimes that only wrongthinkers are accused of doing. Since Ripple Labs sides with TPTB, they can continue their activities without interruption.

+1000

Why anyone believed the ripple hype to begin with is beyond me...

It was obvious from the beginning ripple was the status quo's wet dream.

Case in point, why the hell did ripple have representatives at the U.S congress hearings when at that time it was just a blip on the radar?
