Well this is a Bitcoin forum, kind of makes sense that the majority of people here would want Bitcoin to succeed. And to a large majority of them, success means higher prices, regardless of what TA would suggest sentiment should be.

Plus the amount of troll posts in this thread is over 9000. I think it has driven a few "normal" Bitcoin folks crazy.

The market pretty much bottomed out around that time too (end of Nov-ish), it would be nice if that was the case now as well.

Looking back to then I only bought 1 bitcoin at $2.51 thinking it was going sub $1. Ended up panic buying when it doubled to $5 by the end of year.

Its not a dump. People just want some fiat to buy some prime USDA Bitcoins on Coinbase. None of those smelly euro-Bitcoins on those other exchanges.

I too have had a post deleted once or twice for no apparent reason. They only common thread I could find was that they don't like it when you post only a picture with no text. It was somewhat annoying to have what I considered an on-topic picture deleted, especially because this place is such a lassie-fair shitfest. But whatever, it is what it is.

If someone was to change this "one line of code" if definitely would be considered a "hard fork", regardless of consensus from the core devs. You need 50% plus 1 among the miners to decide to follow. Minor version releases are minor because they don't contain any controversial changes, not because of the amount of work or line changes that were made.

So how exactly would the current version of Bitcoin accept the creation of the 21000001st bitcoin?

You obviously know 21 million is as concrete as anything in Bitcoin, the fact that the code can change it with consensus is at most a red herring by you. Otherwise you have already proven you have at best a sketchy understanding of how the Bitcoin community works.

Reality is Bitcoin is always going to have a 21m cap. If that changes it won't effect the price negatively, otherwise it won't happen. Future value already accounts for the slim possibility of a cap increase, its priced in, and no one believes it will happen.

Its crazy sig campaigns can earn people that much. Back in 2012 I made about 1 BTC over the course of the year just doing those free daily bitcoin sites where you had to solve a captcha to get like 0.0015 BTC every couple hours. 

I do, now you can stop saying I never do anything for you.

When I was younger my parents used to make me take my little sister and brother with me to play in the neighborhood. Everywhere I went they went as well (just a little smaller).

Bitcoin to $50k by 2020

It was me. I de-lurked for a bit back then and went crazy with a couple posts.  

Looks like you are about to flick her in the butt.

Bitcoin needs to be flicked in the butt right about now, enough with this elevator down stuff. Clear the longs and pump it. Buy the dip. Flick the butt.

It didn't go below. Totally unacceptable.

Its times like these that put hair on your chest boys. Hopium, delusional, whatever.

Some people are always convinced the end Bitcoin is just around the corner. That there is nothing we can do but accept it. That believing the opposite is ripe for ridicule, that you are some sort of flake.

Some times the people are so certain, and the environment is so convincing, that you can't but help get swept up and carried away, questioning everything you believed.

But these are the times you will be glad you held firm, glad you held to your convictions that Bitcoin can and will survive this momentary test of wills. Like it has multiple times over that last decade, this too shall pass, and that big green shot to a brighter day will be that much sweeter, that much more rewarding.

We've been on this journey together for years now, do want you must to survive, but know this is still just the beginning of amazing times.

Looks like they want to treat the hardforks and airdrops now as taxable income events. Hopefully someone can explain how that isn't the case. All I need is to worry about now is keeping track of the 50 shitcoin hardforks and airdrops that get created everyday. That makes no sense so I assume I am wrong somehow.

But I had Bitcoins in actual Bitcoin addresses at the time of the Gold fork. When do/did I "receive" the Bitcoin Gold? Do I already have them? Not until I sell them like you interpret? Do I have to backfile my 2017 taxes if I sell the fork now as income then, plus pay the capital gains? Can I argue at the time of the fork the chain had no value and thus there was no actual income?

All those trolls are in my ignore list to this day, with kwukduck at the top. Back then I used to think these people were getting paid to troll. And now at this point I'm somewhat convinced these russian/chinese troll farms that are used to sway social media got their start in the Bitcoin community. Sort of a proving ground that sowing discord can have real world effects.
