Was only a matter of time!
"Thanksgiving day, while many of us were eating turkey, The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published JPMorgan Chase’s (Chase) patent application 20130317984, “Method and system for processing internet payments using the electronic funds transfer network.” The application was filed with the USPTO on August 5th, 2013.
Without mentioning Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies at all for that matter, Chase appears to be building a competing centralized network to Bitcoin."

How many of current bitcoin users would trust Chase?

That money is probably there in anticipation of a new visit down towards 600. China news hasn't been completely digested yet and we will have more volatility before stable 900+.
I think after dozens of copycat news saying China caused Bitcoin drop, people are now starting to understand news from China wasn't negative after all.

i've put myself in a position where i love to see bitcoin move up, and don't care if it moves down.
My trading account is 50/50 ATM
but I hold paper wallets and investments ( 2 year mining contracts ) long term, and this position is much greater than my play money trading account.
Are those cloud hashing mining contracts?
ya
I spent 50BTC
so far, my worst investment ever.
I thought cloud hashing did not return well due to increased difficulty. At least that's why I did not get into it. Was I wrong?

We just need more ways to implement BTC in daily life. You're hungry? Order with BTC. Tickets to the game this weekend? Buy with BTC. Pay your bus fare with BTC.
I think the value of BTC lies in it being used.

I can wait a week till that Eurozone news disseminates to the masses. It took an awful specific search term to find it, and I had to show my dad he hadn't heard much about the whole deal and he' pays a fair bit of attention to global trends and politics. Sometimes patients works.. I know I could have sold at any of three daily tops now but I'd prefer to just hold atm.
Were like a rocket ship about to engage our stage 4 boosters. were almost out of our atmosphere and I'll just equate price drop in a change of velocity for a moment.. but remember there is less gravity in space Lol

Vlad Putin (Poo Tin) has said today he wants to build the biggest army in the world and Russia will build 1000's of new tanks and war ships. He also said he does not believe in the validity of human rights. All this sparked by the events in Ukraine, in the last 2 weeks.
http://rt.com/news/putin-address-military-russia-125/WW3 soon! Buy !!! Sell who cares ?
In the event of WW3 what will happen to BTC ?
Same a Syria but on a much bigger scale probably, a backlash so big it scares the shit out of the powers that be and they back pedal to a peaceful solution at record speed. Global communication is a much more powerful thing than anyone expected and even trying to mess with those communications would cause riots (happened already with ACTA and equivalents).
Russia is very very different from Syria.
You're talking about a country that has made gays illegal and sent greenpeace hippies to a prison in Siberia. They just don't give a shit, and have been ruling with an iron hand for as long as memory serves. Also, if you take a look at the Ukraine videos,
you'll see the level of violence is way above that of protests around the world.I think the level of violence against protests anywhere in the world is way above normal.

Especially if a few of those that get in touch put their money down too, "A million dollars of exotic cars in a month for Bitcoin" would be a sweet headline.
Someone might as well do one of those numbered viral lists: "

100 could settle me for life only if BTC completely explode.
500 or 1000 could do it earlier. And I think betting with trading to reach 500/1000 is much safer option than to bet BTC will be 20-30k worth one day.
It WILL explode. 100 will be more than enough. Then again... it's your life.

knock knock i here opportunity knocking
https://www.havelockinvestments.com/has what looks like a very promising fund that still in IPO, but not for long!
Seedcoin Fund I (SFI)
check it out!
For a complete noob... out of interest, what is this exactly?
Bitcoin startups are the darling of venture capitalists at the mo, that fund aims to invest in the startups the smart money is following. Some of them wouldn't be accessible to small investors and diversity management is complicated so its an easy way for anyone to take advantage of what will likely be a booming industry.
That said you would be putting your money into an online exchange that could disappear any time and with a random group on the internet that could also run of with the funds any time. Havelocks been around for a while and a lot have done the research and chosen to trust them, no idea about the fund managers but with anything like this its esential to do the research and asses the risks before making a decision. Buy and hold is still the best option from an all round perspective but if everything goes well there's a chance investments like this could offer a 10x return and/or stable dividends for a long time to come. Like any investments that comes with risk, don't rush in blindly.
How much is required to invest? Can we invest in small amounts? i.e. less than 1
BTC?

yes these companies are split up in millions of shares, you can buy just 1 if you like.
go try it out send a bitcoin and build yourself a profoilo
its FUN FUN FUN

way better opportunities then "investing" in SCAMCOIN of the week
+1, apparently Havelock's fairly scrupulous but the biggest risk imho are those running the investments, can stress enough how important it is to do the research. Day trading can work out well too, there's some very predictable behaviour on some stocks. Again, caution and good luck

EDIT: Be very careful of mining operations and if you see a guy called pirateat40 get the hell out

I looked at each fund, all of them seem to be losing value. Any fund that you recommend?

This is just part of the psychological manipulation game. The "wall" is not there to keep the price down, and of course not to sell. It is there for the sole purpose of keeping the bid sum/ask sum numbers manipulated. Makes it seem that there are a lot of coins for sale, when in fact, a good chunk of the asks are that one person. Once people start to figure this out, and that there are not nearly as many coins for sale at this price as it would seem, well, that will be interesting for sure . . .
Yeah I know that's why I'm posting it, I love exposing and playing with the manipulative whales

I think they hate me alot

Thank you for doing that :p
But when I see a big sale like that, I can never be 100% sure its the same person buying back. It'll always be just a suspicion cause I cant prove it.

bitstamp is an amazing exchange. Only thing it doesn't have is an auto log out feature. This would help with security....
Did they implement stop loss order?
Nope they also still don't have a market order it's pathetic

.
Yeah...I don't what spooderman is on about really...its a boutique exchange, it looks great but is very low on features. I hate the fact you can't see the market prices on the order page.
The only good thing really is you can get your fiat money out...which I guess is quite a significant plus point really.
I just discovered Kraken.. I'm surprised more people aren't using them. They have a bunch of advanced features, including stop loss.
That, and they verified me in 24 hours.
Hows the market depth there?
How is their banking network?
Have you withdrawn fiat from them?
Well, as I said; I'm surpised more people aren't using them. You can't have a great market depth without a decent amount of users. So of course it won't be nearly as good as a market leader like Bitstamp on that.. not until they get more users.
I haven't tried withdrawing yet, I'm going to wait until after new years.
I'm guessing they are based in Korea from the website?
Kraken looks good but there are some negative experiences on
