Seems to be some way different today, constantly big buys more than 40BTC at a time going to China on fiatleak. Is this about some real rich guys starting to buy in or for some other reason?

i panic sold once and i felt so dumb that i've adopted the strict HODL policy and it's been working out for me so far

you guys should try it out too

I've moved to a pure SODL strategy, since we're clearly heading to zero.

Why are you still here when you think we are going to zero?

Just as the Chinese government has recently warned citizens of the dangers of bitcoin, I am warning citizens of bitcointalk of the dangers of bitcoins, to help as many people as possible.  Only Satoshi and maybe 2 or 3 other people will make any money from bitcoin.  Everyone else will lose money, and probably destroy their life, as the Chinese government has explained.

Alot of ppl already made profits and even if it goes down to 0, they still do.
For the rest ur just posting crap news and stuff which are for 90% not even true. Really makes me wonder why ur here..
My best guess one of the few bears who are still waiting for the final drop from the 1200 crash. See you at $10k

I assume you are human, so we can safely assume that your best guess is terrible since you have practically no information to make a good guess.

Proudhon is trolling because he, like the rest of us have become annoyed at the constant panic mode of all the new traders.  It has become a bit of a joke for us because mocking it and laughing is better than getting annoyed.  It also shuts down the fudmeisters and before they know it, they are looking at the back of the train.  Lessons will be learned and the new traders now will join in the games next time around.  The forums will again be flooded with new traders if we rocket and once there are too many who need to learn the lessons of chasing the newsfeeds(which, hint you are the product, not the customer unless you are paying for it), we will top and teach them once more.
Good post:) I was also a littlebit confused with proudhon when I just started hanging on this forum but I believe in staying on the sidelines to observe before you participate. I dont trade yet and only hodl but I'm getting a clue about that also.

Hadnt seen this one, thanks for the lolz while its 4:20am and I'm in Auckland waiting for an airport bus but tomorrow its Bali and cheap prices since EUR is quite strong against IDR this winter!

Well I especially appreciate this aristocratic meme with the stick, that I have seen before but dont know if it has a name. What comes to Bitcoin I think that after the mont changes we are gonna see some real action! Where the action takes us probably depends lot of what is going to happen in China. But I'm having a nice gut feeling that it is going to end up as something really nice if you just have believed and hodled.

I troll because people are not curious. This is pointless to come with arguments hardcore bitcoiners just don't listen to any reasonnable point.
Would you like to try and have a conversation with some real arguments instead of yelling "BUY RIPPLE FUCK BITCOIN IT IS A BUBBLE" I am curious and try to learn from people who know more than I do.

Anyone know what's the deal is with Coinbase?  Their price is running about $25 over bitstamp right now, which is by far the furthest I've seen them spread.  Usually they're pegged right within a dollar or two of stamp as that's where they do all their orders from (at least, that was the common assumption).  Very odd that they've been sitting between 695-700 while stamp hovers around 670-675.

Anyone know what's going on there?

Obviously its Americans who are buying the fuck out of bitcoin. Kinda pisses me off that this spread reaches it's peak when I want to be buying and when I pulled the last of my coins out of Gox, the spread was the other way so I lose the spread every fucking time. But make no mistake, it's supply and demand and the yanks are coming.

Coinbase account holders have access to our bank accounts and can buy all we want and we're obviously buying the hell out of this drop. Once again, we have to bail out Europe and the rest of the world. Getting to be a habit. You ungrateful bastards can still suck it when the dollar fails and we still get to keep world reserve currency status!

In Europe, we have an exchange, we have ATMs and there are several European countries with greater adoption per capita. Check sourceforge.

Once again, we have to bail out Europe and the rest of the world.

Once again???

From Nazis, Commies, etc.  Those crosses on the cliffs over Normandy aren't just landscaping.
But ummm you kindalike are europeans if we think about history? It's just a matter of how long you wanna go. Or are you saying you we're in normandy?

Yes, because you are a countryman, a nationalist, a collectivist.

I don't know the future, but if I have anything to do with it, we'll be taking the lead from here.

You are a 'we'-man, a collectivist.

Sell your coins at a $30 loss if you want. Courage wouldn't mean anything if everybody had it.

Sell? Are you crazy?

A heard a story once 'bout an Englishman who bought some land in Texas and went to inspect his property. He thought he'd call on the rancher next door, but the rancher was not to be found. So this Limey spies a ranch hand mending a fence and goes up to ask him about the rancher. "Pardon me, Ol' Chap," Says the Englishman.  "Might I inquire as to the whereabouts of your master?" The cowboy looks the Englishman right in the eye and says, "Mister, that son of a bitch ain't been born yet."

That's the America I love and it has nothing to do with the crooks in New York or Washington. You can call me a collectivist if you want, but I consider myself more of a family man. Sometimes that means being a team player and sometimes that means following your conscience, your own council, and your heart on some lonely trail.

We ain't as different as you think, Mr. Philosopher. You got gumption, and I like that. In fact, I sense a little family resemblance.
Why do you even have to mention anything about america then? Isn't it quite the same in every country? A will to be a free man making his own decisions and not giving a fuck about the country where this is happening.

Well that's true! I'm from Finland myself but don't see the reason to start competiting with my nationality since it's a quite small country eventhough it may have done some world scale things also. I try to think myself as a citizen of the world where we are all equal. At the moment I'm in Indonesia taking refugee from finnish winter and enjoying the cheap prices on everything Smiley

A lot of good Americans come from Finland! America isn't really a nation in the European sense. It's just a place where people came from all over who wanted to be left alone by kings and parliaments so they could make something of themselves and provide for their families. A lot of that spirit got lost, but it's still alive out in the countryside and pockets of the cities. Please don't judge us by the actions of our government. We don't really get to choose who runs the show. It's always either bankster puppet A or bankster puppet B. Real Americans are standing alongside Good Finns, British, Chinese, Brazilians and whoever against the fucking banker oligarchy that stinks up every country on the planet. Those Occupy Wall Street hippies were just the loyal opposition. We're the ones who are gonna have to rebuild world finance when the fiat house of cards crumbles. I aim to do my part and I welcome anyone from anywhere who feels the same way.
Pretty much what I was trying to say in nicer words! You seen the South park episode of the U.S founding fathers? It's called having a cake and eating it too:) My point being that usually it doesn't matter what country you are from, the system is trying to play you and to manage and prosper you have to play the system. I have put all my efforts to be undependant of the system and just do what I feel like doing. My relatives and friends in Finland are questinioning my lifestyle very much and sayin you are not going to be anything in the future because I didn't go to school after I finished my high school, instead I work 6months on the summer time in Finland, then for the 6months in winter I travel in cheap countries using the money I saved when I was working. Now I'm looking forward to bail out of that and not have to work even in the summer time if I dont WANT to do so. Bitcoin seems like a thing that just MIGHT do that for me but I also have additional plans in case BTC doesn't do it for me. Life is short. You should make the best out of it.

How does this work? Too lazy to read all in Reddit but I got an idea. I withdraw a little from btc-e today and the withdraw came out just normal but after it there was an other transaction coming that showed 0.00btc in my mobile app, maybe it was one like this also. Are these spamming transactions so small that they don't really happen even you get a incoming transaction in your wallet but no btc really comes to your wallet because the fee would be bigger than these transactions?

Howeve, if the "oldest and most prestigious" exchange fails, it will probably be all over the mainstream news media, and will scare more potential investors away from bitcoin.  Since I believe that bitcoin is a terrible investment, I think that will be a good thing; but it will depress the price even further over the next few weeks.

So cheerful I love it.

Look kkaspar is a bit like Jorge in the sense that he/she is trying incredibly hard to find good reasons why bitcoin can't and will not work.

I think it speaks for itself that both keep posting here.
If they truly didn't think bitcoin could succeed they'd have left and done something else.

They are either trolling or secretly want to get in.
It is the same as me posting in a my little pony forum how stupid the franchise is.

No, actually I'm trying to find the opposite. Only without success.
Wouldn't it just be great if bitcoin will just expand and expand, and the coins will just get more expensive and expensive, with me getting richer and richer, and all while doing absolutely no work? It would be awesome! Like winning the lottery!
Sadly in my experience, the world doesn't work like that.
Surely it's possible that it is not bitcoin itself that is going to be the HUGE thing. but if some other cryptocurrency should come in existence and starts to look better and better it's going to be easy to jump from bitcoin to that one. And still get the huge profits because nothing can come to existence with possibilities to compete with bitcoin and not being so that it has to gain its value little by little. Problem solved and everyones still going to be rich if they have the insight to do this possibly upcoming jump from btc to this other that in my mind doesn't exist yet. Because I think thats the case with almost everyone of us in here, I don't believe that too many of us have to insist that is HAS TO BE bitcoin that is the end game, we just jump to this better one when it seems necessary. Because if we wouldn't then that would really be cultist behaviour in my opinion. But I think we can agree that cryptocurrencies are here NOW and they are not going away. Lots of money coming to those guys who know what is the best place to be holding a position. ATM I think bitcoin is the thing. Hope someone agrees with me.

Gox is trying to come up with a business plan to continue operations.  We know this because of the type of bankruptcy they chose.  Mark is still hoping for a white knight.

They are not winding up at this stage.   There will be no distribution of $ or BTC to anyone in the short term.

I think it will be at least a year before anyone get anything. Probably longer.  And if the books are correct that they have $22 million in cash and $60 million in fiat liabilities then fiat holders will be lucky to get 25 cents on the dollar after Mark keeps paying himself and his staff salaries for the next 18 months. Gox coin holders are at serious risk of getting zero after 2 years.

0.03 for Gox BTC is looking pretty expensive.  Even assuming the 2000 coins in the hot wallet are distributed - 2000 / 500,000 = 0.004.  And even you would have to wait two years and have less than a 50% chance of getting them.  So on that basis I think Gox coins on  bitcoinbuilder are at least 20x too expensive and a better than 50% chance of having a nil value.

I don't have any coins on Gox but I'm severely bummed about it. I can't imagine what people who lost millions feel like.
I'm also damn glad I never did any business with that company. But so this means there is no point to wait for anything to come out from Gox, no money, no BTC so we would be ready to just start going up, I'm sure this Gox thing shouldn't be so big to keep the whole market down for extended periods of time. Well yeah I understand that this makes certain uncertainty to the market but shouldn't take too long to step out of it and hopefully go up again. Atleast I'm thinking that we are so low already that there shouldn't be too much downtrend left, maybe a brief visit to 400's again but after that. Also a think that haunts my mind is this small small green light I can see on the 1-day chart macd of BS, that surely can not be a bad thing can it? It has been on the edge of turning green for couple times already but always the downtrend has fallen further before turning green so now I think it really is for real and we might see some better days in couple weeks.

Seems that is so quiet in here atm so I go ahead and ask couple questions, hope someone with knowledge can find the time to answer even some:)

So I have been doing my homework about btc around 3 months now, learning to read the charts, basic TA and all that in order to be able to trade a bit with confidence in future. No daytarding or anything like that, only bigger dips and pumps and like that. So I would like to ask you what tools you use when you trade? I have an account on btc-e so do you just use the website to execute trades or is there a better tool to do your orders and so? I'm just little bit worried that sometimes it might be too slow to watch bitcoinwisdom when something is happening and then do the orders in btc-e website, is this ok or how do you guys do it? My goal would be to ONLY increase the numbers of btc I own, don't care about usd or eur just making my stash bigger.

Things I watch now are the macd's and stochrsi's on different timescales, coinsight for bid/ask ratio and just the charts to get a grip of the sentiment. Ofc news and all these too. Does this sound reasonable at all and what advises could you give me? Just trading with a coin or two so not stepping on toes of any of you big guys, no worries  Cheesy Hope someone can help me out a bit!

Ok, decision made. When I get back home in a month and get to my good computer with decent internet, I'm going to start to do some trading also. Until now I have just bought and hold and tried to do my learning and now I feel I should be able to do it. Made some imaginary calls "now I sell" "now I buy" for awhile now and it seems more likely that I can make more btc than lose some in the long run. Let's see how it goes.

Start out trading with millbits.  That way no one gets hurt and you have real data.
Yeah ofcourse! My whole stash is anyway smaller than 10btc atm so not going greedy right away. Planning to start it with 0.5-1btc deposit to exchange and see it from there. I have an account on btc-e but I guess I make an other one to bitstamp since it seems more easy to predict than btc-e with more bid/ask walls visible and so on. Also BS seems more trustworthy to me.

41. Post 5460304 (copy this link) (by isov) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_12.22h):

But how are fees in stamp? Btc-e only has 0.2% so I guess it is quite low? Gox had something like 1% wich seems kinda high but it was a crappy company anyways...

42. Post 5460512 (copy this link) (by isov) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_12.22h):

Is bitfinex fine to be used from Europe? I haven't investigated that one too much but it sounds good and they have nice looking depths in bids/asks, I don't like btc-e with that because usually they are so narrow. I'm anyway only going to deposit/withdraw btc and not fiat, just sell to usd when it dips and then buy back when low so it shouldn't matter where the exchange is based. It also should make my trading easier(?) I hear that I'm only interested in increasing my btc stash and don't care about fiat.

Can someone tell me is it about bitcoinwisdom or something I accidentally did when its like the resolution of btcwisdom changes? Moment a go 1-day chart was showing to stages of november bubble but now 1-day chart only shows to that january uptrend? Like the resolution of the chart has fallen. Haven't touched screen resolution settings or anything like that.

The mouse wheel changes the horizontal resolution of the chart.

Thanks Jorge! It really was such a simple thing, I just didn't understand to try that cause my laptop just has this sliding thing on mousepad, not using actual mouse with a wheel

just makes more coins go from unbelievers to believers

The cultists are finally coming out of the closet and openly admitting the cultist nature of bitcoin. That's not good marketing. I wonder, how long will it take until your manor will be called the temple.. Undecided
In the end, all of the bitcoins will be held by The True Believers. No question about that. It's questionable though, if those final True Believers are able to add much value to bitcoin. But who knows, even Scientology has amassed a large amount of wealth, and their ideology is even more ridiculous. But that's mainly because of clever marketing, and till now, the marketing for bitcoin hasn't been very clever.

Rpietila, hire me as an outside consultant, who is not an True Believer, but who knows exactly how the Unbelievers think. Let's make this cult big and powerful, and let me help you to be the beacon of light and the bringer of truth! Stop scrabbling for the mortgages and college funds of the regular folks, and let's switch to more potential targets, like the inexperienced youth who have inherited a large amount of wealth. Let's stop this meaningless fighting between us and let's join forces, so I can help you have eight late-teen wives and present yourself as an demigod!

Join me and we can rule the galaxy as father and son...
Hhahhah these we're hilarious posts, thanks for good laughs guys.  Cheesy Cheesy

Why would there not be a round the clock liquidation on Huobi if this is the end for the Chinese?
Because that would drive the price down too far and result in loss for the sellers. Its much better to dump little by little and let the market re-stabilize inbetween. There is no hurry so far the deadline is still some days away

What date is this deadline? Need to make sure to pop it in my calendar. Might as well set it as a reoccurring entry these days!

lol
What is this. like fucking fourth deadline by China already?? C'mon guys lets not do this anymore. You know the saying: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Feels like it's still banging against that worst downtrend in Stamp that goes through ath and that january high. Only breached it few times on the rise from 339$. Maybe this time we'll be able to take and keep it it Smiley Line is around 464$ now.

DOGE = 100% bear trap, i have my buy orders lined up around 45-55, will resell @120.  Cool

Will also rebuy in the 60´s if it shouldn´t go that low in the next hours/days.

Lol, we don't have anything to talk about Bitcoin, so we started talking about Doge and other altcoins.

Wow, is Bitcoin still around? Last time i checked it was pretty dead.  Cheesy

Edit: Please stop calling DOGE an altcoin, thanks.

Bitcoin is an altcoin.

Bitcoin is ancient, slow, overvalued and has no advantages. It's for old suckers like pensioners who can't handle modern and solid tech.

Hahhah this is great Cheesy Even laughed a bit. Markets are really boring at the moment in bitcoinland. Have to wonder if there would still be some money to make on DOGE or has it topped already.

There may be some value in such discordian considerations, and I may share some of the ideology - however, you may gather from my prior commentaries on government and/or politics, that even though I have a tendency to be contrarian, I may be willing to accept and follow more community rules than a "true" (if there is such a thing) follower of Discordianism.

I expect the web payments committee to seek to be neutral to competing transmission vectors.  However, among transparent blockchain vectors, bitcoin is the obvious beneficiary.  Any expansion in crypto use-cases is likely to increase bitcoin's leadership over other transparent-chain systems.
