Down to $6500 USD. And the real panic selling hasn't even begun yet!

pessimist
No, my friend. Realist. When people are telling me their 16 year old nephews are making easy money trading crypto, it means the market is way overbought.

On a positive note, one bitcoin is still one bitcoin.

that is my fear....or if you go by the old bubble chart of despair....that would be the bottom...more or less.....
so much for BTC being a store of value....maybe it will bounce back some..but who wants a store of value yo/yo that gives you a heart attack every 4 months

Real store of value is decades away still. Anyone who bought that line is a gold plated tosspot. I love the principle and it makes sense due to BTC's qualities, but it's being constantly shat on by human nature.
We haven't even mined the last block yet! That's still at least 100 years away. Maybe by that point it will become reasonably stable, or at least on a similar level with gold. So I agree, everyone who believes Bitcoin is a "store of value" is bullshitting themselves, just like the people who think we're on the verge of "changing the world". I'm not saying that there aren't revolutionary qualities about Bitcoin, but at least for now, 99% of this market is about investors trying to make easy money.

I wanna know whats going through the mind of someone selling here. Do they think this is their last chance of selling at 6K?
They realize that we're probably entering a bear market that could potentially last a couple years or more and want to take a small profit or cut their losses while they can.

Volume to support this rally is anemic. It looks like we'll be heading down again. I suspect we'll be testing $6,000 again soon.

Volume is "anemic," yet when I check the volume on GDAX, Finex, & Bitstamp, Feb 5th has had the highest volume since Dec 21st. GTFO noob. Perhaps we will retest 6000, soon, but you calling this volume, "anemic" is really "exagerated." Why not post this shit with your normal account rather than a alt account?
FUCK OFF! I hope you have a big short and get totally REKT. Like being relegated to homelessness REKT. Then I hope you die of exposure.

I don't short the market, I'm just an observer who shares years of wisdom in the crypto market where I see fit. February 5th volume is irrelevant, because it was a major sell off. Of course that will coincide with larger than normal volume. I have a solid history of predictions and have been here for years, but I lost my password so I was forced to make a new account. I can tell that you're emotionally invested in this market. I would recommend to take a break for awhile so you can avoid making any hasty decisions.

OK, please tell us then which old account is yours so we can peruse your years of valuable insight?

Hopefully, the post history has a personal BTC or altcoin address that you can sign to prove it is yours.
I provided plenty of valuable insight, and many here thanked me way back in 2012 and 2013. I have been mostly absent since then, but holding an overall long position which has worked out nicely and I did sell a portion in December. I don't play the market swings, because I expect the market to continue growing, at least for another couple years. You seem like one of these guys who checks the market constantly and can't even sleep at night because you're debating on whether to hold or sell. Just relax and pick a long term strategy. You'll be much better and have some peace of mind.

The only true way I know that we've returned to a bull market is when my friends and coworkers come out of the woodwork to tell me about how they're going to start mining bitcoin with their old GPUs. I still don't actually know anyone else IRL who has ever bought bitcoin as an investment. But they'll spend hours and hours researching how to mine it, despite me telling them that they're wasting their time.

What are you doing then, besides shooting down the ideas of others?
By the way, I am not too much interested in the idea of mining bitcoin, but I can understand why some folks may want to get into mining as a medium to also learn more about the technicals behind BTC. But, in terms of pure investing, or speculating, it is probably better to develop DCA buy strategies and to use fiat earned in regular life for that and to create a target accumulation, such as 1% to 10% of your investments or some other personally tailored investment goal.
Well it depends on what your goal is. As you say, if someone is interested in learning about the technicals, then I think that's great. But the point I'm making is that I see largely the same people spring up every couple years when there's a bull market with their mining ideas, and of course their end goal is just to make quick money. When in reality if they're interested in investing, they should straight up buy bitcoin as part of a balanced investment portfolio instead of wasting time, energy, and PC hardware to join some pool and generate a penny shaving, and probably get scammed in the process.

And I just think it's a really good indicator. At least in my life. When I hear my friends and coworkers start talking about mining, I'm going all in!!

I actually dreamed last night that bitcoin fell to $6 USD, and then to $2 USD. Pretty scary. So what did I do? Bought more! In reality, I think it'd be finished at that point. Hopefully not a vision of things to come...
