The API is down.

Btw on our end currency conversion is done automatically by our bank free of charge at their daily exchange rate spreads: http://www.unicreditbank.si/tecajna_lista/?t=1&id_menu=&language=ENG
In my experience over several deposits in a month, it's not quite free of charge, the rate given is ~0.8% less than the unicredit rates listed.

Everyone who has ever bought Bitcoins on an exchange (and not sold out) is now in profit...

For now, sure. But for how long? Smiley

Fresh funds just cleared at Bitstamp, and it's nicely low at the moment. (For a certain value of "low").
When do you plan on buying coins with your fresh funds? My funds are due in today as well.

Bitstamp seems to be under DDOS. Looks like someone's trying to gum things up on purpose?
That happens almost every day though.

It's a pity we can't warn new folk to avoid Mt.Gox.  How can they best be warned that they'll get their USD stuck there, so that "I can't get my money back" doesn't become a story which the mainstream media pick up on, thereby hurting Bitcoin's credibility in the eyes of the public/future investors?

Surely it is 100% possible that at any moment, one or more of the big exchanges like Bitstamp, will have their bank accounts frozen for any reason, causing the same effect as Gox.
Nobody knows what goes on behind-the-scenes, never assume anything!

Bitcoinity just displayed some kind of cool animated gif, but I missed most of it.
It was from GTA 5

...and commision is back to 0.50%
Only affects the displayed amount. Do a small trade and you will see that your correct commission rate is honored.

...It would be more plausible their account might be under 'close scrutiny' by their bank/financial services with millions of funds in and out and potential fraudulent wire.

It seems obvious to me that Unicredit has frozen their account, yet most seem reluctant to accept this possibility. All it takes is one bank employee to press a button.

Bitstamp down? lol
Not strictly "down", but orders are "paused", yes.
What's so "laugh out loud" funny about that though? Smiley

Almost bed time. I will sleep soundly assuming that we'll be back up near the ATH when I wake up.

Corrected.

I'm a newbie trading wise, so this my dumb question: who's buying all those cheap coin? Because if someone is selling someone else has to buy, no?
Huge amount of folks who have been waiting since $1k+ for a crash to buy in.
