Which exchange are you guys using to buy and sell in US right now?

Couldn't someone just arbitrage the exchanges?

Buy at Btc-e, sell at bitstamp, repeat Huh  profit

go for it, report back how that works for you

I'm not going to do it.

I was just inquiring because I was curious if there was something I'm missing here.

Just the little problem of getting cash out of the last/sell exchange and into the first/buy exchange in a timely manner....

I wasn't sure on how that part worked since I've never bought from exchanges.

I figured there had to be some catch to prevent abitrage

But if I bought on BTC-E couldn't I just immediately send my BTC to Bitstamp and sell?

Then you have money on Bitstamp.....how do you get it out? Bank transfer? Wire? I hope you don't like using your money for a week or two.

Then you have several fee's for buying/selling and wire transfers....and the price of bitcoin has changed so much in those two weeks that you don't know if you will win or lose money in the process.

Would it really take that long?
It's all money that would just be sitting around anyways.
There's such a big disparity between them..

EDIT: Or just sell them in the exchange section. There's tons of people looking to buy @bitstamp rate or even bitstamp+

Well I bought about 20 btc in the $1xx to $2xx range to just buy and hold anyways. (which is so fucking hard to do)

Was just curious/educating myself now that I'm investing in bitcoin. Still keep some for use, but primarily investing now.

So how would someone in the US go about selling BTC high and trying to rebuy for more?

I'm assuming Bitstamp would be the exchange to use?

Say I had 20 BTC and wanted to add it. If I put in to sell would I just get a USD credit to my account with which I could buy in again if it dropped?

Exactly.

I use Bitstamp almost exclusively.  Just remember, there is a verification process.

Damn I thought the verification was only if you were using a bank account to add money or withdraw.

I've had the account for about 6 months and haven't verified it  Undecided

pretty damn calm.

Everyone start selling or something so we can speculate!

I'm about certain the second we reach $400 it get's ruined by an influx of sell orders.

That's why I hate that people have a "goal" or "target" for when they are going to cashout. Everyone always mentions $400 or $500 etc.

Just hold it dammit, cause you're not making my itchy finger any better  Tongue

Ok , ok , we'll all start making goals like 399.87 and 401.45.
Will that be better? Cheesy

NO!

Just hold it until bitcoin reaches my goal  Grin

So if I wanted to sell off a little bitcoin right this second, and have it readily available to buy back in at any given price, which exchange would be the best option?

I am in the US. My guess would be bitstamp, but are they even reliable anymore?

14. Post 3649124 (copy this link) (by bits4books) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_11.26h):

So then I'm guessing btc-e would be ideal for instant trading? Wouldn't it also practically balance out with bitstamp even though they are selling for less on btc-e, as you can buy back in again for below bitstamp price?

This thread is almost as bad as the troll wall.

A few weeks ago this EXACT same thing happened. Days later we had a new ATH.

16. Post 3863584 (copy this link) (by bits4books) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_11.33h):

Had a buy order in for $552.212 on btc-e that came from my $6.21 ltc I sold off at $40 flat.

Feels good  Cool

fucking hell 576! glad I slept through that.

Why? It was a great time to dump fiat.

18. Post 3874662 (copy this link) (by bits4books) (scraped on 2020-04-04_Sat_11.34h):

I just sold off a decent amount that I bought @ $721 for $770 on btc-e.

Looks like a pump and dump is coming given the trends over the last few hours.

I expect a rise over the next week for sure, but I don't think it's going to begin right now.
