Over $100 drop in just a few hrs., nice!
I know many of you are expert at extrapolating from similar data, while I'm young, innocent, and in need of guidance. Please, kind Sirs, critique my prognostication:
At this rate, BTC will be worth ...-$100 (negative one hundred dollars) by tomorrow nigh.
Did I get my maths right?

No need for you to wait until then, I'll let you pay me $100 to take each of your bitcoin tonight  Grin Wink

Nostalgia.

This thread started April 13th, 2013. The same week I discovered BTC. also same week I ordered
BFL equip to arrive in May 2013. (Phone voice verified) (Jally 5 gh arrived 🎃 Oct 31st 2017)
Such a clueless Newbie I was. 🤔

Anyway back to this thread start on April 13th, 2013. BTC was 67.43 bucks

I was newbie stupid but got lucky..i upgraded the 65mm stuff and paid a fee too boot to upgrade to a monarch card....(8.5k in) thought it was lost
but a year later was refunded (one of the few) by BFL due to the SEC snooping around. They only paid 35k penalty the BFL corp took the losses
they would have been better off paying back no one ..even if it was just a few of us..dumb luck

So hey...rest assured the BFL crew...are all whales now due to us..and enjoying this price pump immensely like the rest of us minions Sad

I can't even contemplate the number (feel free to do the math) of the diff between the april 13th 2013 post of $67.43 BTC raise till the now price of $1293 per BTC now

damn...that would be a lot of moo la...at 100 btc....can't go that high..the shock of such  rise in a 3 year period would make me a nervous wreck!

ack! (the old can't live with the BTC the price is too high....can't live without the BTC and sell it may pump....argh........the angst.....)

hopefully we will all be whining about that in 3 years as our worse problem

Yea I don't think I'm going to go calculate all that. I just know they owe me something between 15-100 bitcoins. I was told (on the phone by Josh if I'm not mistaken) I could get a refund as long as I requested one before my order went into production. Later, when I did decide a refund was best, I was told the policy is no refunds. You can maybe imagine how pissed I was/am.

I kinda screwed up trying to trade again earlier today because of those mixed emotions, lost .012 btc. Also, I was being impatient. This is why I prefer to just buy and hold lol 😆

In the end, 1 BTC = 1 BTC. These dips are buying opportunity's to increase your stash. Just hold on to your coins and wait till they reach your target price. Might take a week, might take a month, might take a year. Uptrent wil continue over the years.  Grin

But then we would need to wait for the ETF to be approved.

It doesn't really matter!

If approved price will jump and there will be selling for profit taking. If rejected price will drop and there will be buying for hunting cheap bitcoins.

It doesn't really matter for the bitcoin price. What it does matter is only for bitcoin short term volatility.

ETFs need biitcoin. Bitcoin doesn't need ETFs.

There will be new ATH next week irrespective of SEC's decision!

This guy gets it.

I think you need to go and see a doctor steve.
That's besides the point! Just realized I am $5 away from breaking even.
Almost!!

Having better luck than me it seems. My iPhone did that thing where it moved the buttons under my finger because the keyboard was going away or whatever, and anyway, dumped my whole trade balance @1178. I've been waiting this whole time trying to get in at or below that point, even thinking, "Maybe this is a blessing in disguise" because honestly, I've never really traded before, and I'm not too good at it. So I'm just glad I know how to use a stop order, because mine just now filled @ around 1189, a loss for sure, but it's currently 1193-1196, and I have my balances balanced again and can stop stressing  Embarrassed

Many are the fuck ups I have made trading bitcoin like this over the years. You live and learn to be so careful touching every damn button. Always use a computer when playing with your entire livelihood!

$1200 ON STAMP!!!! Next stop moon. Even with all the FUD and BS out there we are back at $1200. ETF or not I am feeling good

Heh, yea, those thoughts immediately went through my head. I prefer my desktop anyway, as it's faster, but now that I've seen firsthand how much damage can be done with touchscreen, pfff, never again. It was so messed up, because I could tell when I was checking the market this morning that it was looking bullish, and I was actually getting ready to place several small limit sell orders along the way up, much higher up, when that happened. By the way, it wasn't my entire livelihood by any means, just about 60% of my bitcoins that I keep on the exchange. I have more, and more that I do for a living for that matter, but for me that was the biggest dump I'll probably ever do, ever lmao  Cheesy

We are in the dip! And we are not coming back here! Smiley

And this is my conservative prediction. (Not my bullish pixie dust madness unicorns delusions!) Smiley

*Edit:  Because in Jun / July the banking crashes will be common knowledge and there will be less and less people dumping or keeping their coins on the exchanges! Smiley
How the fuck you draw this white line? Tongue I mean, what was your idea when you was drawing it? You wanted to cross the chart as many times as possible or what

Its based on an average rate of people buying the actual 'coins'. (Supply&Demand.co.market.101.bible)   Cheesy  Cheesy

Its something of a common knowledge information. My advice is that you should read a few hundred or at least a thousand pages from behind in this thread and you will learn more about economics.  Cheesy Cheesy

*edit: You should also know that my line is very bearish! Smiley

*edit2: Because after the halving, you can see from April / May of 2016... I should have drawn another line that is more steep!

Oh wow, I never thought about how many pages of this thread I must have read. I just know that I've been doing my best to get caught up almost every day since early 2013. Sometimes there was just too much going on, but for the most part I would spend 4-6 hours a day minimum on bitcoin in general, and this was a BIG part of that especially during 2013-2015.

Speaking of old times, I miss Aminorex and his monkey, and Adam giving beer tips. Hope they're doin ok. Monkey would probably be bullish as hell right now  Smiley

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Yet another day of creeping gently upward... currently $1257USD (Bitcoinaverage).

This will never get boring for those of us who are more interested in Bitcoin than in merely trading.

It's hard not to notice that those who seem to be permabulls and advocate holding tend to be members of long standing, sometimes with sizeable holdings, while those constantly posting TA charts and advocating frequent buying and selling tend to be noobs, often with negligible holdings.

To me it seems that the former are more interested in Bitcoin, while the latter are more interested in trading.

I suppose some day I should download and watch "Wolf of Wall Street" just to see what all the references are about. I recommend that perhaps the traders should watch "The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin".

I, like others, look forward to your posts like these, thank you!

Haven't seen Wolf of Wall Street myself, but I have already seen "The Big Short". Everyone who reads or posts here should see that at least once, totally relevant, in fact, I think that someone here already said this, and that's why I watched it lol  Cheesy

Better hurry up. You might already be half an hour too late. The beartrap is closing fast.

That said, I'll still keep my cash handy and keep one eye on the price.

It looks like whomever spent so much to trigger this little dip has accomplished what they set out to do, but I won't deny the possibility of another round. If it goes below $1100 I'll head out to buy, and I'll still buy if it bounces back to less than $1140.

You and I think an awful lot a like, I'm sitting here waiting to see if it gets below $1100 also, and if so, I'm pulling the trigger on the rest of my ammo heheh  Cheesy

I am a bit surprised that noone has mentioned one of the consecuences a split between CORE and BU would have, apart from the AMAZINGLY HUGE volatility lower combined price etc...

1) If Bitcoin is split in two, core side will be at 1MB max block size at that time, and BU with an undetermined but bigger max block size.

2) Both "parties" will start dumping each other strongly. Chaos will reign and volatility could be so huge as to wipe ENTIRE order books up and down. (mainly down, even to 0).

3) All leveraged positions will be wiped on the peaks and valleys.

4) The difficulty will be much higher than the hashrate which, by itself, will create big delays between blocks. It is uncertain how big though.

And this is what I haven't seen anyone mention:

5) There will be a huge spike in transactions with people sending his coins to the exchanges. And I mean an unprecedently HUGE number of transactions. Orders of magnitude higher than anything we have ever seen.

6) Core with its 1MB max block and difficulty over hashrate combined will take ages to move the coins (which is not that bad because there will be less BTC coins arriving at the exchanges to be dumped), BU blocksize...well, I am not sure what it will do in that scenario, but it is possible that it will lead to additional hard forks/blocksize adjustment. Also Orphan blocks will be everywhere.

7) Even if in that scenario it seems that BU would be at an advange with its increased TPS over BTC, that will lead to more BUcoins arriving at the exchanges and being dumped by BTC supporters. The price of BUcoin will be much lower than BTC, at least for some time (days, weeks, months, maybe forever).

I could go on... but the only reasonable conclusion is that all this chaos and confussion will benefit noone (maybe to exchanges in the short period, due to the extreme volatility and huge number of trades) and that all this nonsense must come to and end now.

Essentially BU is a Kamikaze attack on Bitcoin..  Huh and the funny part is it's the bigger blocks that rek them in your scenario haha

With price so low yesterday the continuing rise in price could trigger some dumping, could be dead cat. Majority of bears are gone now, hopefully we won't get a huge red candle or another slow drop. Glad we're back at 4 digits now that the guys who fell for FUD and such have sold off.

I've never been anything but a perma-bull, hodler, and dip buyer, well, except early on when I mined 3.4 btc with this PC in 2013 (2 Radeon 7970s Wink ) and more later with my BFL Asics. Anyway, the BUllshiting bothers me because I didn't sign up for a chinese owned, centralized coin that required an above average computer to fully participate. I feel like we should do our best to keep it so that anyone who can get their hands on a decent $100 laptop from craigslist can run a wallet/node. That's why I will dump the BUttcoins as soon as they arrive, and even fire up the old miners I have collecting dust if need be, and continue running a core node.

This Bitcoin market is hilarious right now.

The whale trader(s) that started pumping the market starting back in Jan/Feb must be fuming.  They couldn't FOMO pump it as high as they wanted, and failed to attract other large traders. China with their 100X margin sat this one out, then changed the rules on them.

And this time they got no flaw exploit, no exchange hack, no "China bans Bitcoin", no successful DDoS, no nothing to induce real panic in the market.

So in order to foam volatility (that's what they need to make profit) they're left with using the fake fork FUD and running back and forth to altcoins to pump the market up and down.  It's not even close to the volatility they were able to produce in 2013.

What a joke. Ha ha... hahahaha... merhahahahaAHAHAHAHA!

Give it up whale traders, yer toast! Go run 100% to alts where you might have a better time at it.  Wink

Remember early in the second half of 2013 when the price was between ~$100 and $120 most days? It's a little bit of history repeating don't you think? Only now there's another 0 = $1000 - $1200 Wink

Good AM Bitcoinland.

I see the panic is returning, all the way down close to $1000 again... currently $1027USD at Bitcoinaverage.

If it actually goes down to triple digits, I'll have to think about scraping up some spare cash to buy some more.

Do you play poker with your cards in full view of your oponenent too?

Most people who have been around for a while know that this thread has absolutely zero impact on the price. I think some of us thought it did in the early (<$10) days but it is no longer the case.

The few whales that frequent this thread are either long term hodlers, or play a hold/loan on bitfinex strategy.

You can let fly your trading strategy here all you want. Nobody will change their buys or sells based on any posts in this thread other than the occasional quick turnaround on news dissemination here due to everyone having an interest in the bitcoin price and things that affect it.

Well twice now recently I've noticed when there seems to be dumping for no reason, business insider had just released a new fake fud headline. Like this http://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-price-is-tanking-2017-3

Just arrived this from Circle to my email:

Potential Bitcoin Changes
We wanted to provide you with some important information regarding potential changes to Bitcoin that could significantly impact bitcoin held in your Circle Account.

As described in our User Agreement, “Bitcoin is a decentralized currency that operates on open source software protocols which can be used, modified or adapted by anyone... As a result of the decentralized nature of Bitcoin it is possible that sudden, unexpected or controversial changes (“forks”) can be made to Bitcoin.”

Based on recent developments in the Bitcoin ecosystem, it now seems likely that one or more forks of Bitcoin may occur in the near future. Any fork of Bitcoin may have a significant impact on the value of bitcoin and your ability to access the bitcoin you hold with Circle.

What should I do?
The only way to avoid the potential negative consequences of a Bitcoin fork is to not hold bitcoin. Just go to Settings > Currency and convert your balance to dollars, pounds or euro (availability is based on where you live). You’ll then be able to hold those funds with Circle or cash out instantly.

Have more inside on this email but i only copied the 2 paragraphs, but can you understand the impact of this to the people ? This can be the reason of  today's dump ?

If this is true, it's really messed up because they're targeting new users only, since I have no emails like that, not even in my spam folders, and they have at least 2 of my emails, but I've been signed up for years..

The future of Bitcoin is bright either way, BUcoin HF or not. I'm using every possibility to increase my Bitcoin stash, the cheaper the better!

My doubt is if splitting the miners with the competing chain could expose core to significant risks of attack for a while. There would be even some lagging until difficulty adjusts. But probably nothing of dramatic.

Depends on how many miners switch. Imagine 50/50. We would have double the blocktimes for 2014 blocks? (Depending of course when the HF starts)

It would give me an excuse to fire up the old miners that are just collecting dust right now..  Tongue

Well the media can't win then, can they?  Bastards though they are, there's no point in insulting them for not associating Bitcoin with the ransomware, when they would have been insulted a hundred times more for doing it.  It's not like that exposure would have been good for Bitcoin's public image.

Ok, so give them (media) credit for not being absolute _____s for this one time? lol sure Cool

An early but very good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day, another ATH... currently $1954USD/$2650CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

It also just reached $1955USD at Stamp.

With a little luck we might see $2000 before the weekend's over. That would certainly be a milestone.

For all those who are acting like we're already there, I'd like to remind you that Bitfinex doesn't count. Their prices are exaggerated by their fiat transfer problems and basically mean nothing. You may as well go by Local Bitcoins or some Brazilian exchange.

None of the actual Bitcoin price indexes are anywhere close to $2000 yet.

I'd like to predict ATH by 07/23 if it's still possible

Reason why is because we've had such a strong run from 1800 right up under the ATH without any retraces at all, a small retrace just below it is reasonable(which I also posted when we were at 2925) when we've had such a crazy run. And I expect the strength to continue pretty soon.

23/07 already taken by: Bitcoinaire

Been reading for a while but only now registered to speak.

Wanted to thank everyone for the great commentary and knowledge sharing.

I am in this for the long run, as stated previously: 1 BTC is 1 BTC. I am confident in the technology, which is what really matters here. This is just a quick stocking up stage. I believe/hope that BTC will only rise stronger. A good rise from this should show confidence in BTC and the community.

Thanks for the positive outlook. I hope to contribute more in the future, but it seems that many active users here are much more knowledgeable than I am.... but there are others that are clearly not. Hopefully I can find a spot to be helpful as well.

HODL/restock is the way through this.

Welcome fellow Hodler!

I’m kind of the same way, in that I have been reading here for longer than I have been registered (and I still rarely post), but I appreciate everyone here, even the trolls, bears and shills I have ignored lol. I have spent anywhere from 4-12 hours a day focusing on bitcoin/crypto these years, and a lot of that is seeing what is going on in here.

The reasons for these dips are so silly compared to around 3-5 years ago. Back then, we legit had no clue what the US government might decide to do. Many of us feared waking up one morning to news that they banned crypto currencies, but strong hands HODL.

Now look where we are, I couldn’t have imagined it all back then. I treated myself just before Christmas, by taking a two week vaca in Vegas, driving a Ferrari and eating amazing food. It was fantastic, and was only possible because of good ol BTC. In fact, twice BTC saved my trip from being ruined. Bank deposits don’t post to accounts on Sundays, so I used a BTC ATM and kept the party going Wink

I am conflicted on organ donation. On one hand, it makes our species as a whole weaker as people who should have died stay alive and procreate, breeding even more weak and sickly people. On the other, it maximizes the use of resources. Difficult.

So by that logic we should stop all foreign aid and let them all die from starvation and disease.

Stop all welfare payments so the unemployed (often less intelligent), sick and disabled die.

Stop anti-biotics so only the strongest survive infection.

Why not get rid of the police so society devolves into survival of fitness?

 Nooooo!  Make it stop!!!

OT : Conspiracy Theory of the Day - California Fires

Hmmm, let's see.... when the economy has a major downturn and people start struggling to pay their monthly bills, what is one monthly service bill that people think they can shed and get away with it?

Yep, you guessed it, it's their monthly Home Insurance payment.

And when this starts to happen nationwide by the hundreds of thousands, millions of citizens, the Insurance Megacorps overlords start to get very upset. Then as they start to lose even more money, they get desperate. How would the Insurance Megacorps go about putting the fear of God back into those citizens to sign back up for their home insurance?

Hmmm....maybe....mega fires....?? DEW?

Nah. Just coincidence, quack theory, blah blah.

Or...?

Why did 6 out of the 10 deadliest and costliest California fires in *history* happen just since 2015?
Direct energy weapons for sure, these aren't normal fires. This is the enemy at the front door to distract from the massive voter fraud going on in the US. Good short video from the SGT Report that I watched last night about these fires. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTvjS1-skFM

I wouldn’t be very surprised. I watched Unacknowledged and thought to myself “I already knew most of this..”

If he had a single key from Satoshi's blocks he would sign "BCH SV FTW" message, and bury Jihan Wu.

Does anyone think he would not use such a weapon? The fact he did not do it is yet another proof he is 100% fake.

I would like to hear people’s stories about how they first heard about Bitcoin ?

I read about it in Wired Magazine in early 2013.  I was familiar with gold farming in WOW so it didn’t seem too outlandish.  It took a second mention in the media in November 2013 for me to pay attention and find this forum on google.

My first time hearing about bitcoin was late 2012, early 2013 from a friend who was always looking for a get rich quick scheme. I didn’t pay him much attention, since his schemes never seemed to work.

Later in 2013 I heard again, but this time from a wealthy friend. This friend owned a Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini (and several other nice cars) as well as a few houses. That’s when I took a serious look, and I started mining soon after.

 Grin

P.S. I was also a WoW gold farmer some time before lol

Short sellers make VW the world's priciest firm

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG.DE) briefly became the world’s biggest company by market value on Tuesday, as short sellers caught betting on a price drop with borrowed stock scrambled to find shares after a buying spree by Porsche (PSHG_p.DE)...

Short sellers desperate to close their positions paid as much as 1,005 euros a share during the session following Sunday’s news that there was less than 6 percent of VW voting stock still floating in the market.

...

Porsche denied it was manipulating the market and said that the market had mixed up cause with effect.

“We vehemently reject the accusation of share price manipulation,” a spokesman for Porsche said. “The ones responsible are those that speculated with huge sums of money on a falling Volkswagen share price.”

The “mother of all short squeezes,” as one analyst phrased it, led to an investor outcry alleging that they were duped by Porsche.

...

This meant they were trading at around 63 times expected earnings for 2009, at a massive premium to rivals such as Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) and Daimler (DAIGn.DE).

“The problem is, from a fundamental point of view, shares are really overvalued. But when the short squeeze comes to an end, there are not enough shares available to bring the share price back down,” said one Frankfurt-based analyst.

...

Now that's an interesting story. Hope something like this happens in bitcoin soon lol  Grin

I got a sad story for you. My wife was constantly bitching back when I was mining because I turned my garage into a mining room with noisy box fans and shit. She had to go in there to do laundry and always bitched every time she washed clothes.

She needed a new vacuum. I thought I would do something to make her appreciate the bitcoin mining so I went to spendbitcoins and bought an amazon card. I sat her down at my computer with me, had her watch as I traded the bitcoins for the amazon card. Let her go to amazon and choose the vacuum she wanted. We spent 7 btc for it.

One of her favorite jokes now is to tell people about the $140,000 eureka vacuum we used to own. FML

if we always think like that? Roll Eyes
my friend and his brother lived every day of there BTC's every time they ordered food or whatever payed with BTC directly...., they also always joke about the very expensive durums, pizza's etc
but i guess we all have some VERY expensive shit cause of BTC Roll Eyes

The sad part is, I tried to give her something to keep her from bitching about bitcoin only to give her something new to bitch about.  Undecided

Oh yea, we have some stuff that if we calculate how much that btc would be worth now it's funny. For me, some computer parts and Christmas gifts just off the top of my head. I can also look at it another way too though. Like my car for example, I did the math and it was only $213 of my original investment. That's how I was able to convince myself to pull the trigger  Cheesy

I got a sad story for you.

There used to be this company, Butterfly Labs, they were going to come out with the first ASIC miner and make GPUs obsolete...

I gave them my money for a couple of foot warmers.  The day I got them, I had to unplug the Christmas tree lights because a breaker popped when they started up and then the same night one of the PSU's cooked itself while I was at work which woke my wife up with that terrible ozonated burning plastic smell.  The next morning I set them up on the kitchen counter where we had a 20A service using an old computer PSU and the paper-clip trick so I could free up the circuit for the Christmas lights.  By this time, she was a little upset with my new hobby but she tolerated it because she loves me Wink

I only got one, I was working out of state when it arrived.  My lady got it set up, configured and on the pool within 4 hours after it hit the doorstep.  We made the USD back finally...the BTC, not so much...

Mine doesn't know how to use/move/find our Bitcoins so she has to stick around and keep me healthy.

edit: now she's hitting me and wont stop til I take her shopping.  See you!

I was robbed for some Jalapenos and some of the medium sized ones.. My order came like 9 months late, so I knew not to trust them by the time monarchs came out, which was before I even got my order.  Angry

Quote from: smracer on November 24, 2018, 05:30:38 PM

I have a shelf full of Monarchs that I pre-ordered.  In an alternate universe where BFL didn't exist I have a 747 with my name on it.

Sorry to hear it, but yea, if Butterfly Labs did what they said they'd do, we'd all be better off. I might own a seastead already lol
When I placed my order, not only did they say that I could get a refund at any point before my order status changed to processing, and then keep my money, but I even had one of the jerks on the phone telling me a specific date mine should arrive, before I sent them the money. Suddenly when I request my refund (before status changed to processing) they changed the policy to no refunds and denied ever saying that. Took 9 or 10 months to get the order. They make me sick..  Angry

My GPU rigs I built before I heard about Butterfly labs made more profits. I would have probably 10x more BTC if they would have refunded me when I asked, and 100x or 1000x more if they'd shipped when they said they would.

Cry

Never saw the attraction of mining. Always appeared like a race to the bottom where you were pitting yourself against giants. I guess that it had worked so well for hodlers in the past was the motivation to not outright buy?

when i started mining in 2011 it was easier to acquire btc by gpu mining than buying.

as im a hardware guy who likes to tinker, i never really stopped except for a year or two around 2013-14. that was when asics really took hold. asics were pretty much a suckers game except for 1st batch folks (assuming they werent outright scammed). then around when eth mining with gpus became profitable i got back in. trading eth for btc of course.

something about that soothing white noise from the fans and the tweaking that just gets me.

and now i have squirrel acorn fpga gpu accelerators to (hopefully?) breath new life into my aging gpu rigs. plus an bcu1525 fpga on order that may or may not come anywhere near making roi, but will at least be fun to play with.

for me, mining as a hobby is a lot safer than some of my other much more expensive hobbies. and some of those  hobbies tend to cause death or other undesirable results when you screw up. so there is that advantage.

Like he said, at the time mining was cheaper than buying, plus I have a degree in computers and love to tinker and build.

Funniest thing about my mining career is that I actually used a window unit air conditioner to cool my GPU rig so I could overclock the piss out of it for a little more of that sweet sweet btc lol  Cheesy

RSI hitting 30 is quite bullish actually.

I always thought there was more of a selloff to come since we've never plumbed the oversold zone on the 1-week chart since way back in 2015. Getting that out of the way might make it safer for traders to contemplate a trend reversal since in bitcoin it tends to only visit that region rarely and once (or max twice) per cycle.

I'll be the odd man out, I believe in soulmates. Maybe it's just dumb luck or maybe it's something else but I think a lot of things are meant to be.
I'm very open for the idea, because some of the things that happened in my life were just too fucking weird for me to explain.
There have been numerous instances where I just had a weird gut feeling that basically yelled at me to go down a path that turned out pretty much picture perfect.

But I've studied enough statistics to know that it could very well be bullshit, so I'm not too invested in either case. Hoping for a "game over screen" that will clear this up after death (though not as much as for longevity and indefinite life spans).

Same here, once as a child I started daydreaming about Lamborghinis while my brother was driving his gfs car, then my daydream became a vision. I know because I no longer had control of my daydream, and the beautiful Lambo spun out, off the road and down a hill. I snapped out of it, put my seatbelt on, and a few seconds later the little beater we were riding in did exactly that. I was completely fine, not even a bruise or scratch on me.

Now, does anyone here have any idea where the bottom might be found? Or should I start daydreaming and hope I get a vision?

How you feeling Hairy?
Worried, concerned?

The price is tracking nicely to the model so far, albeit slightly ahead of schedule.  Am not in any rush and think that whatever range we settle at, we should be there for awhile.  The market needs time more than anything else.

In the very short term, we are due a bounce / bull trap lasting a couple of weeks.

Looking at it through a 10 year time horizon, this is an extraordinary opportunity.

So not particularly fussed.

I can wait 10 years if I have to but I was hoping I’d be pretty rich around 12 months after the next halvening.
I was close to being a millionaire GBP wise at the ATH (obviously that’s gone to shit now but I’ve sold nothing).

I was hoping to be 75% sold out of bitcoin in approx 2022 never having to even think about what I’m spending ever again.

10 years is a little long but I can wait.

This just seems a lot worse than the last long bear market as obviously I have a lot to lose this time.

You know what I did? I spetn just enough btc last year during, and just after the rally to 19k, that the rest of my btc stash is pure profits. My original USD amount that I invested, I’ve taken off the table.

This isn’t my first time going through the cycle though, so I learned the hard way, and I didn’t spedn more than maybe 5% of my bitcoin stash. Since I am a HODLer through and through, it’s really hard for me to let go of even a couple hundred thousand satoshis. I am only able to now because I experienced being all in (100% invested) bitcoin during a previous bear market, but thanks to this thread and the people on it. I learned a thing or two, like:

HODL (or buy) when everyone else is panic selling. (odds are you’ll end up with less bitcoin if you’re not super lucky and/or a damn good trader)

Later you can smile, and take a little tiny bit off the table when everyone is hyped to entertain yourself during the next bear season.

Good morning from my hotel suite somewhat near my destination. Got about 4 more hours to drive and I’ll be relaxing in style.

It was nice to wake up and see BTC up about 5% (according to the coinbase app). That wasn’t expected, but my inner bull is still hesitant. Maybe even jaded after this year lol

I’ll check back with you all after I check-in, since driving while forum posting is not something I want to try to do

Good evening WO crypto posse!
I’ve been road tripping across the United States this past week, and I’ve gotta say, it’s recharging the HODLbatteries nicely  Grin

I am, however, downright sick and tired of this bear market, as I’m sure many of you all are as well. This road trip is nice and all, but I’m mentally ready for the lambos and seasteads and international travel. *sigh*

Ok, I need to take some deep breaths and muster up some patience.

Yeah, the crypto market sucks lately, but at least you're enjoying your time and come back fully recharged.

Try not to think much about the price and just enjoy! Better times will come (I hope!).

Btw this forum is pretty much dead.

I ignored the altcoin and most of the local boards few weeks ago since they are only good for spamming sig camp posts, it is sad to see there are only 8-9 pages of new posts without the damn altcoin/bounty/off-topic threads.

Nobody even creating a topic for major news anymore wew.

VB1001 is doing his best creating some things

for the rest we all know its a bear market and we just need to have patient of playing out ( there are too many new threads that all go's to 1 point when MOON, when and the question is almost always price related of hitting that or hitting the bottom.....)

in other topic there are too many busy with 100's of threads all about the merits? and who gets them and who sends them etc
its crazy sometimes how much time and effort they put in just seeing everything around those merits....

Yeah, the amount of effort, threads and posts about merits is simply shocking! There are even some top notch "intelligence" analysis about it that are absolutely awesome and show outstanding research/analysis skills but... about Merits? Really?  Roll Eyes

VB1001 has indeed created a couple of really interesting threads and even managed to get some us out there in the wild side of the forum.

Btw, I think he has already more than earned his hat. I am eager to see xhomer creation around that nice Maine coon cat.
