People can conduct transactions just fine with only 1 confirm - speed is no issue.

That means that my website on needs to hold off 8 mins to avoid a double purchase. 8 mins is a life time for many business models. many other cryptos do it in 1 min or less and even that is too long.

0 confirmation transactions work fine! The risk of a double spend is extremely low for low value transactions. For high value ones, 6 confirms is vastly faster than a wire transfer, or ACH, or SEPA.

Anyone thinking we are still going higher is still under the euphoria of the mania that has burst. That is all this is, that is why the nonsensical push three consecutive times in 36 hrs to go to $1000 - they really believe it is going higher when there are like 1000 people all blowing their money over and over again with expensive coins.

Didn't you hear the news, a downtrend is prophesied. Ok, it keeps going up between the dumps but its still a downtrend when zoomed out so the upward pressure must be a statistical anomaly or something. Just think how terrible it would be if that upward pressure is real and the bears have to buy back those hundreds of thousands of dumped coins.
That would be terrible. however very basic technical analysis says that won't be the case. Below $800 on gox within the next 24 hours. before further drops is what I see.

I can wait a week till that Eurozone news disseminates to the masses. I have near zero knowledge of this market and can tell you, your prediction is unwarranted. The first tooth in the zigzag pattern is made up to be consistent with the two following teeth. It is not consistent with the actual data. What remains is the two teeth. Your prediction amounts to "it went up a bit, down a bit more, then up a little bit less, therefore a crash will happen". I will eat my words if it goes down to 200, as you predict.
I did not predict 200. I predicted below 800 within 24 hours (about 3-4 hours ago) and said earlier that sub $500 I what I think could happen. The graph is worse case not looking at other non TA factors.
I don't expect $200 BTC but I would love to buy at that price.

so for BTC to reach just 5% of gold it would need to hit, $27000 per BTC.
these are just approximations and nothing more.

Bitstamp. Mostly because I know I can get fiat in and out and honestly- they are the best. Customer service is top. A lot of slippage however. Which I always am reminded of the hard way.
Never tried bitstamp. what ever happens I hope you recover any losses. I personally think it's going down further, and am fairly sure. I get a bit of abuse from the uber bulls for pointing this out. but I don't mind.
For bitstamp not sure where could be good to rebuy, my thoughts are about 369. but I could be way off the mark. It all depends on China.

What about it? It has 40k less volume than BTC-e.
The coins have gone back the western exchanges.
Just a couple days ago I posted the western ones averaging 30k, and btcchina and okcoin 70k-100k.
Now the westerns are all 80k-120k and china 70k.

I have no doubt BTC will be back to $1200 and beyond, but to say this is happening anytime soon is just wishful thinking.

I fail to see how... we have 12 days to new year. 7 billion dollars (50%) wiped from the market cap in 12 days. and it was still dropping before the latest news. The people in China investing are not kids with PC's and a few $$ they were real investors that could not give a shit about btc they just wanted to make money.
I think it's doubtful we will see $650 anytime soon. It's Christmas too, so some people will cash out a little for the festive season and new year.
But if you think otherwise... tell me where you think the new investment will come from.
