You need to take a copy of the private key or the QR code image and keep it safe.
I lost access to many accounts when my phone died. It was a pain to get access back (passport scan etc.) , and some never let me back in...!

Exactly... Why would BAC pick some very unlikely BTC price point, and then to say that s/he it thinks that such price is going to happen?
Very unlikely given recent event and recent price movement and recent volume.. ..
Even the fact that BTC prices bounced off of $275 with such volume should cause a large number of rational observers to believe that this market has reversed and is very unlikely to return to such price points, absent some pretty bad news....
Accordingly, we have NOT been hearing any real bad news in regard to bitcoin.... much of the news is either good or neutral and with a few negative pieces here and there ... yet any negative news, to the extent it comes up, is largely outweighed by good and neutral news.
In other words, seems like stupid-ass trolling statements to be realistically attempting to assert that we are returning to anywhere below $360 without some kind of meaningful analysis and explanation... .. otherwise making bare assertions of such seems either trollish or fantasy landia-sh.

I'd say the past week has been pretty bad news, holidays are coming up, lots of BTC exchanged well bellow $100 and I don't think people will be gifting BTC hot n heavy for Christmas yet.

The price has been recently taking massive swings. It has gone from 320 to over 400, and back down, 2 times. I am not sure what to understand from it.
It has one reason. Something which is new to Bitcoin since this year: Dumpers who do everything in their power to take the price down. Every single time.
We're gonna have a real hard time going up again.
I just don't understand what caused this behaviour. They just refuse to let the price go up.

You are constantly whining like a child which can not understand why do the grownups do what they do. Problem is you are stuck in the fiat logic, counting your gains/loses in fiat instead of BTC. Try to finally understand that if you had 100 BTC each worth US$ 1000 each, and you now have 110 BTC each worth 400 BTC,
you have not lost 56%, you gained 10%. Try to dig that into your thick head, the current price is irrelevant, it only matters how much BTC you will have when the day comes you wouldn't have to exchange them for fiat at all. The most straightforward way for smart people to gain more BTC trading is to push the price down selling as much as they can and buy more BTC when the price hits the bottom of the dump. Not everyone can trade with leverage on Bitfinex, most people trade on all other exchanges where there is no leveraged margin trading, so every they of price rising is their day lost, and every day price falling can be a big gain for them. I don't know how to put it more simpler, please try to finally understand total non-importance of short term price drops.

Here's the one I use:
Bmo = N x A
Bmo ~ total value bitcoin M0 (also called 'market cap')
N ~ total number of entities holding bitcoins
A ~ average Amount of value holding entities are willing to hold in btc
It appears likely that N is only going to keep increasing for the forseeable future (perhaps with exponential adoption rates at times).
A will stay around the same but also may increase as the confidence in holding value in btc becomes firmer.

Depends on how you understand centralization. In theory, Ripple can become less centralized than bitcoin. Read the white papers.

Maybe, you have not understood bitcoin fully. The chain can be moved to any future protocol. Bitcoin can do what ever it wants, it generally considered that it's not needed.
But many alts have moved to a new mining algorithms. A forum member called dreamwatcher was the first to do it. he moved a complete blockchain from scrypt to blake. Open the new wallet with your .dat file and boom your coins from the old chain appear.
So bitcoin has no constraints, it can do whatever is needed.

So it's a good sign, in all but the immediate short term. But the market has reacted now and this news was on the horizon anyway, most were trading knowing this news would come sooner or later.
The market on Oct 2nd 2013 was very calm and the news created a bigger reaction. Today was a bullish market so the effect was softened.

How high do you think it will bounce back, and what do you think will happen after that?
Still bullish overall, people that sold still want bitcoins im guessing, so if it stays stable then I expect it to be a gradual thing gaining pace. if it dips again then I think a double bottom (368 bitfinex) is the absolute best the bears can hope for. If that happens we will probably bonce quicker.
The SR crash is below. But this crash is tame in comparison, traders learned a lot from SR imho, they won't sell so easy these days.

The SR1 bust was a great relief for many and the start-signal to invest into Bitcoin. Bitcoin had cleaned its shirt.
Nothing of the kind happened now.
It's better to compare to last time the feds auctioned off coins. Not much happened back then.
