The inevitability of $10k looms, and a general public scramble to create a coinbase account
My password to my account broke a month ago, I am assuming this happened to others too?? Finally was compelled to re-up and get a newbie account!
Seasteading: Interesting idea, I like boats
Seasteading with Bitcointalk: A bit too insane for me
I am not rich but I am kinda young(ish), so I got my eyes set on an affordable sailing yacht (<$37k) and will tour until I find an island I like...

Nice observation Tera, now what does the next bearish movement hold! Does it loom as you suggest with near completion of our ~10x gain pre/post destruction of the old gox ATH.
I was not here in 2013, did people think that the run-up was the beginning of mass adoption then? Currently, I see the visibility of BTC so high, and the $$$ invested so great that it feels like we are going to be ramping up farther to the inflection of an adoption S-curve. Or maybe the public's attention is polar and fickle, and this is just another classic example of cultish optimism seen in all around the crypto world.
Anyway, ride or die with BTC. And jam on Jimbo!

Am I delaying picking up my friend from the airport, just to see $10k? Yes, yes I am
Did I get this friend into BTC half a year ago, so he'll understand? Also yes
C'mon people of the stamp, deliver unto us a 5 digit rational number!!!! Side note: should've saved the Selma pic for $100k (too many boobs)

I am praying that some interns doing research about crypto for their dinosaur financial institution boss are reading this shit lol. STRF's fortune cookie advice mixed with a sassy sitcom uncle. JJG's ramblings and pataphors understood only by himself. Jimbo strollin by with a wave and a smile. The general lack of garbage memes but the ever present pictures of butts and boobs, quoted for posterity. And who knows how much antisemitic shit has been mod deleted, jesus christ!
Before everyone dumps their BTG, can we atleast try to see it surpass bcash --now that would be gold! Now for dealing with the Trezor, which I handle with great care, even more than when I was working with uranium.
Do people think this to be the last leg up before a "crash", or is there a correction (<50%) that will bounce us past the asteroid belt?

This "Inevitable crash/large correction" sentiment is based on what exactly? On technical indicator (RSD) being in high zone? If one bothered to work with all these indicators, he would notice that price direction and correction size are extremely hard to predict. Even using ingenious synergy of several indicators is not likely to produce good results. That's why MasterLuc's analysis based on Elliott waves are much, much more on target then any indicator based ones, and guys writing indicator based trading bots charge by copy of the software instead of hitting fortunes on the markets themselves.
It is not as much a current sentiment for me as it is a way of the cycle. Doublings take less and less time, then the thing climaxes and we hit a reset where it takes a much longer time to double again.
And I agree, I want to see bcash below btg. Much better way of putting it!
But anyways back to the main event. Watching Stamp flicker in a $15 range as we all fill a glass, and then another, and then another .. . . . . .

Right on time, ghosts from the past are summoned back to the thread. It's almost like a family reunion again. But on the other hand, it's kind of sad that not many here are new faces, i.e. plenty of "newbie" account are actually old timers who got hacked or lost their old account due to Theymos lock.
Sorry I was out to lunch for a little bit. What was the Theymos lock hack? Fortunately my bitcointalk account got hacked, and not my bitcoin wallet!

Also what came of Stolfi and Adam? And billyjolean is crazy now?

Are you feeling any better about this? The more I think about it the more it worries me...
Nope. There will be tears. But what can you do?
But these turds need tu buy a shitload of BTC first before shorting for a big fall, or i am wrong? If i am right, price has to be pumped as hell first before that.
Someone sure as hell flooded the market with new money between the time he called bitcoin a fraud, and now that his company is calling it the "New Gold".
Let's say you had access to billions of investment dollars... And you want to open a lot of short positions say... oh I dunno... December 10th? What would you do with bitcoin between august and then... and then what would you do right after Dec 10?
I'm hoping Goldman and JP duke it out in a fit of greed. Like JP is all set for their manufactured market crash, then Goldman or Fidelity just decides game on bitch and pumps that shit. See, now BTC is the 24/7 financial arena for the old world to battle with.
You got to wonder would old financial giants see clearly and put differences aside, unite, and sling a rock at the young but growing Goliath? Or will they claw at each other?

So I see people worried for McAfee's dick, and that $400k will fall short, but if I know this guy I'm thinking he wants to eat his dick --especially on TV.
As we close in on $13k, think about that moment the market crashes at $499k and McAfee fires up the grill with a smile.
On another note, I hope that the mainstream can see Tether for what it is: a digital emulation of the world's current monetary policy. Maybe that will be a true A-ha! moment for the masses

https://ibb.co/kQfoNwhttps://ibb.co/eWG69bhttps://ibb.co/eBqipbThat's what I have so far as pictures. It should be ready to hit the water this spring, gonna toot around on my first boat until it's ready. And when it is, taking a trip from Denmark down through europe.
It's essentially two big rooms, one of them a bunk twice as big as normal for boats that size and the other everything else. Has a toilet as well for when you want to float somewhere for a few days. And will have more electricity than I could possibly use in a week, including a 2000W inverter for a small oven and whatever else I might want to plug in.
Damn that's a nice little number. I have been shopping for a motley 11m sailboat to spend a summer on the Med, living cheaply by anchoring and whatnot. When you say trip down through europe, are you going to traverse Europe by river?? That would be cool (Rhine->Danube)

I like the idea of the wide open sea, but too much choppynes gets old right quick, and my old man keeps insisting a river tour is the way to go. And maybe it is. Still deciding.
I am young and yearn for adventure on the sea. After, I assume that a river tour would be much appreciated. Cheaper docking fees, less tourists, stop in at a cozy tavern, sounds lovely

Foxes are the best. Fox and the hound, the Robin Hood fox, fantastic george clooney fox, silver fox from Grandma's boy, Erwin Rommel (as a strategist --the desert fox).
This excludes Fox the network of course
I say we're in a fox market, gotta be on your toes. You're never rich until you cash out, and the second you follow your gut it whipsaws the wrong way. Bears and Bulls leave each other bloody, but the fox gets the last laugh

Watching an NFL playoff game, there's an ad for tonight's news segment on how to get and use bitcoin, followed by an IBM blockchain ad. This time is actually different, we have landed safely into the next stage of mass adoption IMO. I am less worried about hodling than ever before, let's hope our vessel can weather the barrage of private blockchain tech
EDIT: And then an ad of Experian's dark web scan! It is our time to rise from the sewers and take over the surface world!

The bleeding is slowing, time for that unending crawl back up IMO. As I am young and still haven't worked a career job, my retirement plans are non-existent. Have fun retirees, I want to hear about some nice river-boatin, gun-totin', cigar-smoking, seastead-floatin' stories in the future
If the forum sees some serious updating, this thread better stay in tact. How the hell do I merit anyone. My guess is that I can't!

So anyone else in the camp thinking this is the final up-down before the bigger bubble cycle (see May 2013)? Since we endured a long bear market, I have a feeling that with greater market inertia, we end up having features that are longer in time.
In any case, I don't see myself regretting holding in 2 years time. Of course I could have timed so as to increase by BTC holdings 5x during this cycle, but after this exposure I don't see a prolonged bear market coming until a major technical/political issue erupts to hurt crypto.
I'm young, fuck the USD, fuck the gov't. Good luck to everyone and may the bottom bounce like a golfball on an ice rink

I actually want a sailboat because I love sailing and the sea. Doesn't need to be too nice, and I don't think it is some huge money hole. If I bought a $25,000 sailboat, I would expect to put another $7000 into it's repair, upkeep, etc. To use it for 5 summers and re-sell at something like $15,000 is well worth it in my case.

Building a seastead was a dumb idea to begin with, he would of been better off buying a bunch of land somewhere and trying to start his own country.
But he brought to the surface how immediately unrealistic an ideal sovereign existence is on earth. We cannot be absolutely free. No matter how stupid the whole seastead thing seems, I commend and thank him for doing it. All I do is slap fingers on a keyboard

Quote from December 07, 2013, for nostalgia. Funny to feel that "but it won't be bitcoin" sentiment even back then, it is a hipster bias
As you may notice the pumping bulls are starting to get scared, we aren't going to see all time highs ever again. Bitcoin will level off and media attention will die off since we're the only reason it was there to begin with was because we were in a period of expontential growth.
People will look back in 3 years time and laugh about how a virtual currency with so many intrinsic flaws managed achieve a market cap of over 12 billion.
Cryptocurrencies may be the future, but it will not be bitcoin.

I plan on out-sailing the apocalypse, but am thinking about my anti-piracy measures as there is not much hiding in the open ocean. Unless of course you can pseudo-submarine your vessel just beneath the surface with emergency ballasts.
I figure isolated cold climates are best, as long as you can survive. In the meantime I hope there are enough radios/comms to keep a quarantine economy flourishing

I love to have Horse instead of Electric Car

the 2020 Horse 2-seater model is sustainable, organic, and has personalized controls, as well as self galloping technology. In addition your Horse is powered by organic, light-harvesting, sustainable fuels that can be stored at STP for years, making you the talk of the Neighhhh-borhood.

Italy reported, March 10, 18:00 CET
Verified cases: 10149 (+977 in the last 24 hours) ↘️
Case in need of special care: 877
Recovered: 1004 (+280 in the last 24 hours) ⬆️
Death: 631 (+168 in the last 24 hours) ↗️
Italy has more than 150 people died in 1 day!
Quick death rate calcs: Going by death/(death+cured) we get 38.5%. Going by death/infected and rolling 2 weeks back we get just under 25%.
What the hell is up with the italians?
It's been clear to me that all of the "statistics" are heavily weighted by testing strategy, and also by test accuracy. So Italy just tests people getting fucked by Covid19. Also, aside from China it looks like other country (S Korea, Taiwan) have curbed spread greatly by lockdown. But the grain of salt is that they probably are not testing as much.
When all is said and done I say it is highly contagious, kinda deadly to older folk, but severity depends on viral load. Just a hunch. So when gov does total lockdown quarantine it does not entirely stop the spread, but rather many infections are mild and untested. Do people have reason to refute what I am saying?
Otherwise, China, taiwan and others are totally deceiving with their testing strat to fake a recovery, which is bad news bears [if true]

Very interested to see if BTC can roll through this black swan. No circuit breakers, no damn Fed printing trillions.

We need a way to award people revealing factual, relevant truth to the world. Right now, only hype and sensationalism is rewarded with views and ad revenue.
With a permanent distributed record, we can advocate truth from logical consistency. It will be indirectly dependent on consensus (the blockchain), but a sequence of assertions that do not self-contradict could be a measure of "truth". The longer the better
