What a piece of shit Mt Gox is. I really hope this guy goes to jail. In my life i have seen such an imcompetence. How many millions have been lost due to this guy inability to run this company.
He got the best Magic the Gathering cards, he just found one day that he was running a billion dollar company (or exchange to a billion dollar market). So instead of playing with mages and trolls cards he just started to play businessman being absolutely horrible at it and making thousands of savers lose their hard earned money.
Why don't you open an exchange?
Let's see if you can do better.
To date,
no one has done better.
I would disagree with that, but it seems most people want to stay with mtgox, which is fine with me
Bitcoin = Currency??

BitcoinDelusiontalk.com
I transact value with other people all over the world by transferring bitcoins. If you think that's not a currency, then you are the delusional one.
I can trade my TV for something else on Craigslist or anywhere in the world. Does that make my TV a currency?
for the sake of the argument we could say it does, but its a very inefficient currency, its going to cost you probably as much as the TV to send it and take a week or so to receive, I would prefer to get paid in btc
looks to me like those whales have pushed the price up around 3% the last 24 hours, I wouldnt call that a failure
When's chartbuddy gonna return with the big charts? (I know you can click on them, but ain't nobody got time fo' dat)
Alternatively, where is (s)he getting the charts from?
I also vote for bigger charts again from chart buddy as I don't bother clicking the small ones and prefer to ignore him altogether. A good proposal was to make the chart at least as big as the minimum post size.
Also agree, I don't pay much attention to them, but do have an occasional glance, with the new smaller one that i have to click on its jsut too much work. All-in-all its pretty unnecessary and just adds alot o traffic to this thread.
If i ignore chart buddy, will i still get notifications when he posts in this thread?
I agree too, after all they are the most on topic posts in the thread
How does this happen? Edit: check the numbers

someone placing a sell order at a price lower then the last order that went through, I would guess
What do you mean by "business itself is in US"? What part of US was Liberty Reserve in?
Proably the US did something illegal. The USA has no jurisdiction outside of its own territory and US laws only apply within its own borders.
LOL, try telling that to Viktor Bout
A Russian who was entrapped by the FBI in Thailand and suddenly he finds himself in prison in the USA.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Bout http://www.victorbout.com/Currently doing 25 years in NY.
thats Thailand, any country could do that with Thailand, for a small fee of course
the syria situation won't do jack shit to the going rate of bitcoin.
it's still too obscure for that, anyone else thinking otherwise is retarded
can someone tell me why they are fighting...
why do they want this President Bashar al-Assad, to quit
and why does President Bashar al-Assad feel he is so important that people should die rather then he step down.
also wtf does the US have to do with this? i mean why are they invloed, what in it for them
i'm going to start and OT thread...

Gox's new trading engine and all of the upcoming exchanges (ex, Coinsetter) are completely unnecessary given the total volume on all current exchanges.
What a magnificent engine this is that a trader can't even put a protective stop loss, not to mention a trailing stop!
Gox will still maintain the lead [...]
unless someone who has experience in exchange / brokerage business finally sets up a quality exchange. If this happens Gox and others will die in 6 months.
Don't you think that the only reason for
BTC exchanges not to offer this facility is because they're all playing there own markets? I can't understand it otherwise. If your commission rate is based on volume and tied to price, you'd think they'd want you to trade often. I can put a limit order on buys at Bitstamp but because I can't stop loss I don't do it overnight, so they lose those trades. It doesn't make sense to me that they would turn down that margin unless that's not there business model. Profit comes from manipulation - the commission fees are just gravy.
I thought they didnt do it for legal reasons
Well, I'm 100% in BTC - all 1.38 of them XD
Annoyingly, I bought in at 143, just before the big dump a few days back - after deliberating if I should.... as always.
I think the whales are connected to my brain, to do the opposite of what I need.
Seriously man, go make graphics, wait tables, mow lawns or something and use it to buy coins. You'll do a lot better than trading 1.38 BTC...
not necessarily, check out a few compound interest calculators, altho you might have to rethink your trading strategy
mtgox did this with me about 6 months ago so its nothing new, I had about 8 btc that had been deposited as btc a few years previously and they wouldnt let me withdraw them as btc, I went thru the motions, had to fake some of it because i didnt have the right documents, but I dont think they care about that, as long as it all looks ok you should be fine
This is the very first quote I found by looking at your profile, but there are at least hundreds more:
When someone can explain to me how Bitcoin plans to retain value without any real way to use them, maybe I'll be bullish again. But all indicators tell me that, Bitcoin is a sinking ship. Doesn't matter what miners are using or doing. Without mass adoption, it's just monopoly money, propped up by speculators. And please, if you're going to try to spell it out for me, spare me the libertarian, bible thumping fantasies. I need to hear something with real world substance.
Your indicators indicated you very well.
So basically, you just made up that last quote? Ok, thanks for not calling me a liar.

A lot of this quote is still true. Is this not still pure speculation? Are you claiming "mass adoption" for Bitcoin?
Bitcoin hitting 900? Never would have guessed it. That's why I say, being bearish is futile...unless devs change the block size and centralize Bitcoin. Ripple has the payment network aspect taken care of.

speculation is not just speculation. it buying and selling stuff, mostly US dollars but also chinese, and its happening because btc is very convenient for buying and selling stuff
