ETH is a scam now?

Altcoins aren't necessarily bad to bitcoin, I don't know why people have to be so negative about altcoins. Alts are a great experimenting ground for features that could make it into bitcoin.

IF Bitcoin would adapt anything, at all. They are quite stern on refusing progress.

Bitcoin is too volatile to act as a currency.

After all that time you've only just figured that out? Off you go then and let me offer a friendly pat on your silky buttock to help you along. If you find a cheeky finger in your crack then I hope you take it in the spirit it was intended.

Neither should a Mastermind present such simple conclusions from all of that hard thinking, nor should a gentlemand talk like that foul mouth!
Behave people, be nice to each other.

I just asked Siri about the EFT approval using eight ball and she said, "Nope."  Grin
Asked Cortana too: she also said nope.
They don't know how to resolve "ETF" in the question, so default to a negative response.
Yes you do understand this is a joke

Because I am human. This is just another very good example upon how machine intelligence will fail us. They are not much more like some database, maybe called ontology map, capable of drawing conclusions from known data.
No creative thinking.

You forget the chinese withdrawals that start tomorrow. When the chinese people see that the price is dropping they always panic and sell. So this means that wee can expect a drop tommorrow, and when ETF is not approved, what is likely to happen, will cause in an another drop. We are going to test 950 usd

And on top of that all this BU llshit makes me all bullish. You know, "Buy when there is FUD in the streets". Not to fast, nor to slow. It's picking up Bitcoins at a bargain time. Later living that "Bitcoin summer" when the harvest for the brave comes in.

wow, that must have been the biggest 1 minute swing we've ever had.  fat finger or data error it seems but big amounts like that show the lack of overall BTC liquidity and scarcity.

a preview to how the price will severely drop or amazingly move up here in near hours...

On top of that comes a very tiny amount of exchange places. More sites would dampen manipulation effects due to arbitrage trades.

Seen fake Reddit ETF rejections, seen orchestrated pump right now along "has been approved ??" questions, so what else awaits us?

Is the "BU is going to hardfork bitcoin" the new "China is going to ban bitcoin?"

One can say that "njet" from the high officials against the ETF has been an attack from the outside.
This one comes from within. It's always succeeding from that inside attack angle.

Hashrate?

You know one of the most vocalist altcoins out there features variable blocksize. And for a while I have thought if that's a solution, and if it is, would get adapted by Bitcoin, too. Only if it has proven to be the right, unique and unavoidable approach. Not as a struggle to ruin everything upfront.

Holding and playing long term beats most day and short term traders but some day and short term traders use profitable techniques. Their feelings and techniques can be ev>0 for years then not anymore but being connected to the market and projecting a deep and being right is not only related to bare luck.
Luck is winning sometimes, skill equals winning mostly.
These profitable techniques can shoot your own toes if done too often. Shorting traps, worthless derivatives and such.

How I see it: I've convinced myself that the bitcoin price will be significantly higher at some point in time. Reason enough for me to hold through everything.
I would advise to keep some eggs in another basket. Don't place all eggs into one basket.
Those rules maybe ancient, but have proven themselfes since some time.

i have heard that Onecoin, Pepecash are very good alternatives. Lets face it: Onecoin did the most extraordinary thing that not a single cryptocurrency ever did: calling itself a bitcoin 2.0 without a blockchain Roll Eyes. They are so awesome that they dont need blockchain to call themself bitcoin 2.0 and Pepecash because evil Pepe will destroy everything.  Lesson : 100% in bitcoin or agree with second choice alternatives.

Exactly! Was going to start a business not a long time ago but when I found out how much should I invest in equipment, vehicles, salaries, premises rent etc and compared to the potential profit I asked myself why? My BTCs are earning more just by sitting in my cold wallet.  Roll Eyes

That seems more bussiness focused. You can differentiate inside the bitcoin sphere, too. Investment on mining equipment. Close relatives like Litecoin. Regarding salaries I am still waiting for a more structured trading company that would hire traders. So far, we all are on our own.

This would make a nice enhancement, the possibility to state a fact which coin one is supporting, and on what level of involvement. Have searched for where the tags originate from, and how to configure, that prank got me. Maybe in some weeks we can really configure that.

Segwit hashrate: 45.65%

It is pretty much the same as it was back at 35% vs 30%. Nothing changed. I wonder where the Price would be if there was no BTU attack panic recently. Roll Eyes
We are only fucked when BU + Segwit > 100.00% until that day a healthy standoff struggle works for our favor.
1300$ probably, since that's been the level before the panic.

If you stay at these levels this month, I think there may be a rise in next May. But I think if I tell it from my own perspective, it can not protect this level much. It seems like we can see levels like $ 900 in a short while.
Next twelve days 1100$ that's a lower support line ranging back almost 180 days ago. 800$ would rediscover a support line that began 9/2015 but got invalid around 10/17/16 a date when something fundamentally changed.

why isn't this roach guy on a precious metal forum instead?
because people that invest in precious metals are too close minded to have any interesting discussion

So it looks like people are selling alts for btc to get the "free BCC" when the fork occurs. My guess is they will dump their new bcc asap and buy back their original Alts. Not a bad strategy except for the viabtc stage and the fact that i expect all Alts to rise pretty fast as these speculators come back.
If everyone is buying bitcoin to dump bcc, where is the value in bcc coming from?
That's why I don't like current market.
It's full of bullshit...
That market will bottom out once they run out of ammo. From there onwards, pump pump pump.

I know there are more, at least all the sites who did futures way before the event should trade that, too. But one site at least from that list traded BU and other stuff, they like to offer things that still dont even exist, not a trustworthy place to be.

The fuel should originate from BCH dumps. On a daytrading shedule the volume of these markets should preceede BTC price movements.
Once mining BCH equals mining BTC from revenue this effect might stop.

So $5000 to be exspected? $4500 if things turn worser?
Looking at charts alone is not enough. The hashrate distribution between the Cash fork and Bitcoin would tell more about price discovery. I am worried that miners exercise this switching of their gear since end of august on a daily course.

Now I put my faith in "2x per year" long-term trend.

Eyeballing that, it looks like we have about 2 yrs to go before we reach a new ATH.

One and a half year seems needed to leave behind a bearish trend, this time has passed like this month. A sideways area stretching a half year would be good for confidence, as in "has built a new floor".

I’m sensing #Bitcoin will cross $15,000 this week. Confidence in central governments, central banks, and centralized, fiat money is at a multi-decade low.

Max isn't as big as PBoC, imagine they would twitter about their reaction on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China%E2%80%93United_States_trade_war how this forum would turn upside down.

Do we have any qualified forum members who could forecast next tariff events and PBoC monetary policy? Since huge amounts of hashrate is located inside areas where electricity has to get paid in CNY it's of dire interest.
